Thank you so much for these tutorials. I have just started doll making and they are so helpful. Finances are very tight for me just now and to have access to your tutorials is a blessing. Thank you.
So great! Thank you! (But that music is so repetitive. I had to turn the sound off because it was getting annoying.) thank you for this great series!! I’m excited to get going!
It is so great to hear your voice. It is almost like being together again. I hope you are all doing well. Maybe one day I will get to come back and do this together.
I know, right? One of the reasons I like teaching online is that I get a little of that interaction via the zoom meetings with my students. I hope one day we can see each other again Cheryl and I also hope you and your family are doing well. Much love!
Obrigada. Esta foi a única aula que assisti e entendi como faz esta linda boneca, que acho linda e adoro. Outras não explicam como você. Com calma, clareza e dedicação. Muito, muito, muito obrigada. Beijos
Hi Lucia, I do not have courses in portuguese but for some of my videos that have spoken voice, you can turn on the closed captions, and then in the "settings" (the little gear icon) you can ask TH-cam to automatically translate them to portuguese. Of course the translation is not perfect but you can get more of the gist of the video. Other than that I know it is very frustrating to have to translate the instructions sentence by sentence via google translate.
Merci pour votre travail D'artiste, puis-je vous demander si c'est de la laine cardée pour rembourrer la poupée et puis-je utiliser des billes de verre pour le lestage, merci pour votre réponse Gigi 🤗🌺
I am having such a hard time finding the tube gauze in 15 cm (or any other size for that matter). Do you have a source for the tubular gauze in rolls? I've only seen pre-cut sections sold by doll makers. I went through your blog post on materials, but I didn't see a source for the gauze. Did I miss it? Thank you 💜
You can use tubular gauze or stockinette, they are interchangeable. It doesn't matter if they are slightly different in size, just if you find one that is slightly less wide, add a bit more length. You can purchase tubular gauze from The Olive Sparrow or Bear Dance Crafts, as well as Little Oke Dolls and Kamrin's Puppenatelier.
I crochet dolls but I also want to learn to do these types of dolls especially the ones I saw on your channel the little girl dolls with long hair.....so are all your dolls made this way? Love your vids
The Hansel and Gretel series is an introduction to dollmaking. This is how I started making my dolls 13 years ago. My techniques are much evolved and I no longer create my dolls this way, but I recommend you learn this way so you know the basics.
So, for the core of the head, do I need to wrap the core with string before putting the last few layers on the head? I've seen where some people do that. Is that only something that needs to be done on a larger doll? Just not sure whether its necessary to wrap the core with string or not... I just received the materials for making my first doll! I want to make it right.
I make dolls up to 23” tall and I have never wrapped the core head in string. I have also never seen that done. I imagine it must be due to lack of being able to wrap a tight core ball.
what a lovely clear demonstration and video. I find it sad that it doesn't have enough confidence to stand alone without the noise in the background. Thankfully one can understand with the sound turned off. Thank you.
When I work on my dolls I always have classical music playing, it helps me concentrate and work more harmoniously. I try to instill the same ethos in my videos, always choosing music that to me is inspiring and calming, and many people enjoy using my tutorials even more because of it. I know that those that do not wish to hear the music can simply mute the video and the experience of those musically attuned is not lessened. It is not that the video or me as a dollmaker "lack confidence" but the contrary. I am confident that people can use the tutorial using both experiences, I like giving people options.
The music is so calming and repetitive it's putting me to sleep. Maybe choose a different one for the future if you don't want that but I think it's great. Personally I need a nap anyway.
hehe you're not the first one that says that to me. I avoid very "lively" music as I find it very distracting while I am editing...but perhaps not so soothing that it sends you to nap time!
No doubt! Your tutorial is the best one on the internet. Kudos!
Wow, thanks!

Thank you so much for these tutorials👍😘😍🇮🇩
You are welcome.
Muito obrigado por me ensinar essa arte tão preciosa!
Thank you for watching Cristiane.
Eyy they start out as dryer balls
Not quite that compact but yes, some dollmakers even use dryer balls as the beginning of their doll heads.
Hi, thank you for this tutorial. I was wondering how tall the doll is when finished? Thank you
You’re welcome 😊 The dolls end up being around 8.5" tall
Que trabalho maravilhoso, feito com tanto carinho,,gostaria de aprender, sera que tem o curso em português, gracias.

Hi, I was wanting to make a waldorf doll for my little sister. I was just wondering, does the width (or overall size) of the stockinette matter? :)
Yes it does but not as much as you think. You want enough stretch to contain the head and the wool, and enough length so you can make the belly.
@@Figandme ok, Thank you! 💖

@@Figandme Thanks for the tip!
@@Figandme Also I was wondering if you have online classes that teach how you do the dolls you have evolved to doing now? I would purchase :)
@@sarathomas8499 I have two full doll online classes, you can check them out over here: www.figandme.com/workshops
Can i use polyster batting instead if wool?
It doesn't behave the same and I don't have experience using it so I am unable to recommend it. I do know other dollmakers use it.
@@Figandme thanks for your response and nice video

You are welcome!
Is there a video for doing the hair? With mohair or weft hair?
Yes there is, part 6 and is using dollmaking mohair yarn. There is another video here in this channel on how I make wefts.
Thank you, I need a video on how to put on the weft hair. I tried to crochet it but too thick. I assume I will need to sew it on, yes?
Is this how you make all of your doll heads?
No, most of my dolls have completely needle felted heads, but this is the way I teach beginners how to make doll heads.
❤️🙏🏼😍👏🏼
I am glad you liked this video, thank you!
🙂

Do you mean double laying stockinette fabric, when you write 7,5 cm wide? When it single lays, then 15 cm? A sqare? I love your dolls.♥
Yes as my stockinette is a tube, so the width measurement would be doubled if yours is a single layer.
@@Figandme Thank you!
