The worst part about this fight is not Death Bringer himself. It’s the skeletons. Can’t take a second to hit Death Bringer without the Skeletons getting on my ass.

If Death Adder knocks you down left, he uses Gillius's magic, down right, he uses Ax's, and if he hits you with the heat-seaking ground bolt, he uses Tyris's magic?
He can cheap shot you first with his ass axe, then follow up eith his magic. Sometimes he send electric pulses at you. Get hit and he summons Singe(dragon) to add insult to injury.
the final battle is the only part of the game where i get killed more and more times... these skeletons have too much hp and avoid you by make a full combo on death adder.
Technically they don't even have HP. Or they're just like Balio & Sunder from Breath Of Fire III (though I don't know if such a feat of programming was possible at the time, since those guys are technically not "enemies" IIRC)...
The disappointment when I see that you went in the settings to give yourself extra health... I mean, I made it to the final boss with 3 continues and 3 bars of health.
+Ahzafera I did not go to the settings to get Extra Health. I played default rules, and this was the default on my version of the game. I'm an average gamer, as far as a gimmick goes, so I don't ever play a game on the hardest rules.
Eh, this game's pretty brutal. I 1CC'd it on default settings a couple times yesterday but honestly those skeletons can shred through your health at such an absurd pace that I don't blame anyone for setting the health to max.
Yeah, I can understand that. I can made it to Death Adder Jr, I believe. Where you save the king? And then I can make it up to the final boss, but I haven't been able to beat him with just the 3 bars of health.
My tip for fighting Death Bringer: Pin that fucker in the top corner, knock him down with a jumping slash, and then continuously use the jumping down-stab as he gets up. It makes quick work of him, the immortal skeletons guarding his room are the only issue.

In case you're wondering, the skeletons in the final boss fight can be defeated, but ironically they have 2x as much HP as Death Bringer.

It's possible to kill the last 2 skeletons, but you have to hit them much more than the final boss.
You're better off to just kill the Final Boss.

I believe it's due to the limitations of the genesis/megadrive. It can only use a set amount of sounds at a time.

Golden Axe is actually an 80s game. Development was started in 1988 and it was released in 1989.
