Poulter's setting is phenomenal in this game! So many 1 on 1 at the net, both Larson and Parsons are effective at the pipe and those slides by Washington and Akinradewo!
I do miss seeing Carli Lloyd play with team USA.

USA just showing they’re the better team. Didn’t even go full force. That’s basically Brazil’s strongest lineup plus maybe Natalia? But the USA still dont have Ogbogu, Hill, Bartsch, Robinson, Carlini there. The extra year for Tokyo really helped them mature and grow as players. Go USA!

I don't know but it seems like Poulter is a better starting setter for USA than Carlini. Italian league really improved her gameplay.
nah, Carlini and Hancock are way better than Poulter. Jordyn is Karch's new favorite setter because she's tall and all that, she's good, yes, that's a given for most American setters, but she needs to work on her foot work, blocking and decision making but other than that, she's doing great in other aspects. While Carlini and Hancock ticks all the boxes.

@@elijahsackville-glucksburg I disagree. Purely setting-wise, Poulter is better than Carlini. She was one of the best setters in the Europe leagues last season. She was the breakout setter in Champions League and the Italian League. Although undeniably Carlini is a better blocker and defender than Poulter but Poulter has better ball distribution since she is better at setting the middles unlike Carlini. This was already evident in the 2019 World Cup where Poulter started all the big matches (China, Brazil, etc.). Hancock will most definitely not be going to Tokyo since she is inconsistent with her setting tempo. She is a good server and a more offensive setter but her changing tempo kinda killed Novara in the Champions League and Italian League.

USA is the best team so far. Blocking, height, setting, libero, power. They have it all.
The defending champs showed why they won two times in a row. Brazil made way too many unforced errors. The American are on the roll. Brazil has alot of work to do.

I didn’t notice they don’t change courts anymore until now. The brazilian’s block has social distancing but they are very good in digging up the ball.

For me, Karch Kiraly is the best coach in the world takes a team without the main stars and turns it into that we are seeing a team playing very completely different from the coach of Brazil who comes with maximum strength and loses to the reserve team of the USA, this is called technician the loaned it's time for Brazil to put new blood because Brazil is one of the greatest power in the world in women's and men's volleyball
Ethan Hautchiet...what are your talking about. Karch has every one if his A team players. Plummer and Parsons are the only ladies never part of Olympic or World Cup team. Oh and Poulter but she is Karch fave.
Karch does not develope young great players. Uses Italies pro league to do that.
In Plummers case Italy then told to go to Japan to develope her defense. This team was not successful in Rio and it's the same old team. No medal. None Nada We will see how good of a coach he is when his whole team except JWO Thompson Drews and
Poulter retire after Tokoyo.

Brazilian setters are sadly not up to par to the American, Thai and Japanese setters. There hasn't been a great setter for Brazil after Fernandinha and Dani Lins.

This was the same thing for football, but unfortunately the Brazilian team in football has gradually declined, but we still have 5 cups, which makes us one of the best teams. Brazil is the most successful country in volleyball. The Brazil men's national volleyball team is currently the champion in 3 competitions, the Volleyball World Cup, the Volleyball World Championship and the Olympic Volleyball Tournament, and is ranked number 1 in the FIVB World Rankings. Also, Brazil has participated in the volleyball tournament in the Olympics since the first one, in 1968, with awesome results. In women's volleyball, however less, we are almost equally strong. With several gold medals and many strong enemies defeated without even breaking a sweat. And it looks like the girls are stronger this year. But anyway, I'm sorry for saying that the USA team sucks, I was just angry because of the comment above and I vented my anger. Team USA may not suck, but it is certainly not stronger than Brazil.

Se a Tandara continuar como está é dar a titularidade à Rosa que está habituada a blocos muito altos e ver se ela se vira melhor uma vez que o burro do ZRG não convocou a Bruna que também está habituada a jogar com blocos muito altos. Se você parar pra pensar, os EUA sempre perdem pra times que o talento individual fala mais alto, como Itália, Sérvia e China e batem de frente com equipes de jogo coletivo como Brasil e Japão.
Isso acontece porque os EUA estudam especificamente o estilo de jogo das levantadoras. As definidoras de bola de segurança de cada equipe (ex: Egonu, Boskovic e Zhu) vão virar bola, não importa o quanto eles estudem. Isso é um problema pro Brasil que depende do jogo coletivo e da velocidade de bola.
Brasil precisa de passe pra rodar, e se a bola quebra geralmente elas passam de caixinha, daí é contra ataque.
Quando o Marco Freitas disse pra não colocar a Ana Cristina porque seria jogá-la aos leões eu quase arranquei o resto de cabelo que me sobra. A menina carregou aquele time fubá do Sesc Flamengo nas costas, ela enfrentou leões a superliga inteira... Ela é definidora... Vai fazer o que se suas atacantes de velocidade não estão virando? Coloca a menina pra dar rodagem!!

Eu pensei a mesma coisa quando ouvi, levou ela pra pegar experiência eu entendo, mas deixar ela no banco pelo amor de Deus eu jogo vôlei há 12 anos e tenho certeza que se tivesse até colocado ela como central no lugar da Bia pingada teria sido melhor ao meu ver ele levou ela pra passear e ainda vai cortar ela se duvidar sem ter dado chances a ela de jogo...

Eu apreceiei parte do seu comentário, mas, e concordo que falta individualidades entre as jogadoras, assim como existe no masculino. E concordo que ele deixar talentos como o mensionados por vc mostra (no minimo) falta de visão. Agora, sobre esse time ai, nas duas partidas que vi elas jogando (contra times fracos) só vi duas realmente boas! O resto pode ser substituído. Esse negócio de ficar transendo jogadoras antigas mostra que o Brasil no feminino esta completamente perdido. Triste.
Achei que faltou as centrais ajudarem mais, principalmente no bloqueio. Toda bola alta do USA, seja na pontas ou até no meio da rede tava caindo

WOW!! USA is winning ALOT these days, but hope they get the gold metal for the third time!! And if they do, I'll be deeply impress.
Whoever said ir was easy for USA, it wasn't. Usa's team seems to have more confidence as a group, I mean they seem to have been playing togheter for longer. Throughout the VNL competition, I strongly believe Brazil 🇧🇷 will grow, since they just need a some more practice to adjust mistakes, and they might give all big surprises.
USA goes well against collective play teams like Brazil or Japan but struggles against individual talent teams like China, Italy or Serbia. Brazil needs a reference spiker like Ana Cristina when facing well rounded teams like USA.

Haha. Not even. The USA team is such a young team and they played against each other’s in NCAA tournaments in their college/university years. The Brazilian team is strong but not as quick and powerful like the USA. USA has so many weapons as well.

@@nichlao8637 agree, she lacks decision making and she probably needs a better foot work. Winning a "Best Setter" award does not necessarily mean she's the best, she won last year at the VNL, yes, but guess who's the best real setter after the preliminary rounds? Nootsara Tomkom. But of course she can't win the award because Thailand did not even qualify at the final 6. FIVB chooses the individual award winners from the top 4 teams despite their overall performance. Zhu Ting won Best Outside Spiker despite playing 3 out of 5 weeks at the VNL last year, FIVB awards does not care about statistics, they only care about the "stand out" players. And I really don't think that Macris Carneiro is a GREAT setter in any way, good, yes, but not great. Even Roberta isn't great. Brazilian setter are not up to par to the American, Thai and Japanese setters. There hasn't been any "great" setters for Brazil after Fernandinha and Dani Lins and that's an objective analysis.
