One key thing that should be explained is if there is a way to be able to see when a call that is coming in is someone who dialed your actual phone number or if it’s a business call coming in through the app.
It looks like in the google call settings you can select the option to Show my google voice number as caller ID. Once that is selected you can add your Google phone number in your cell phone contacts as "Customer" for example.

I had the same question! If I choose to have my Google voice number show up as my caller ID, how would I get my customers number for follow ups calls since it'll show my Google voice ID as opposed to my client's? I could ask, but I will not always have a way to record it all the time i.e. driving or no pen and paper.

will ring first, and can the call be transferred so

phones will the screen show it is a GV call and
not a regular call coming in- how will we know
he difference- can set up a different ring tone if
necessary? I also want to confirm the GV caller
can leave a voice message and text? If the call doesn't get to my partner in time, will it forward to me? What greeting does the customer hear when they call? Great questions! Yes I have it on my iPhone you just download the app. And yes you can both text and receive pictures. As far as changing ringtone I don’t believe you can, it just defaults to whatever your phones is. But you can turn on call screening so you’ll know when you answer it if the person is calling your Google voice or not.

My land line phone (already registered google voice number) connected to my internet wifi modem via OBI Talk small box, used to work, but not any more. Can you tell How to reset that?
I want to use Google voice for its voicemail feature only. I don't want to make phone calls with Google voice. I don't want a Google voice phone number. Like I said earlier I just want to use its visual voicemail feature. What settings do I need to use to do this on my Samsung phone?

Still not get it . I am lost . I need a phone line for my boy . Can I use your way to have his phone line ? In another word, is that apply w the phone without line ?
I tried to add the app on my iPhone. I have an existing google number I want to continue using but the app keeps asking me to creat a NEW google number. Is it not possible to add your existing number to the app.
Your existing Google voice number should be tied to your actual phone number so you shouldn’t have to add it, it should be automatic. Check your current Google voice number on the web and make sure your phone number is tied to it.

The only way I know how to get around that is to enable call screening. Which you can do in the settings.

Can you transfer an already established landline number? I have my landline for over 30 years and was able to transfer it to Vonage about 12 years ago and would now like to transfer it to Google Voice.

Yea you can have more than 1 but you can’t set up a Google voice account with a cell phone number tied to another account

How can you identify an incoming business call on your cell phone? Does it identify itself through the app? I want to answer business calls differently than my personal calls.

I'm having an issue where my co-worker is trying to set up WhatsApp business in her cellphone, so it sends a verificaton code to the linked number which is our Boss' (he's in the US and we are in Latam), but the code never arrives. Other apps like Telegram and calling work, the sms and calls arrive. WhatsApp nor Google have been very helpful about it. It is supposed to work, would you be able to tell me what should i look for?
