Ironic considering how Demyx is the only member to summon their nobodies to fight for them during battle. Hes smart to annoy and wittle down his enemies before having to deal with them himself.
I love how Demyx is seen as the useless organization member and a dumb kid but he's pretty smart. His fighting style keeps people away from him, he was the first member to question if they actually didn't have hearts, and somehow managed to steal the Olympus stone from the gods and goddesses! He's just extremely lazy and because of that no one would expect any of that from him. Why would they give him more work if he just wasn't going to do it or get it right?
As far as I know, Demyx says as much himself. In 358/2, he mentions how he purposefully screws jobs up or does half-jobs so that they won't send him out as often. If he actually gave 100% all the time, all it'd get him is more work; so instead, he slacks off. It's pretty great, honestly.
@@Gemini_Hero I personally think Xemnas sent Demyx on a suicide mission here. He knew that Demyx knew Xemnas was lying about the Nobodies not having hearts. Not only that he knew Sora was a traitor. I'm wondering if he knew too much.
@@Youseeinthisrn It does seem like Xemnas intentionally sent Demyx and Xaldin on suicide missions. Dilan comes back on the side of good so I hope that's explored in the Kairi game since Dilan, Ienzo, and Papa Ansem (If she's a princess born in Radiant Garden and he's the king of Radiant Garden... How epic is the Radiant Garden arc though? Gosh I hope someday they show us the opening to the ten year war from Young Squall and Baby Kairi's perspective.
His cry of agony always gets me. Just such a bone chilling farewell. Someone who really didn’t want to do what he did, but felt compelled to so as to fit in.
This is arguably the "shit just got real" moment in KH2. Before this we were just fighting Heartless and Disney bosses but now we've finally come face-to-face with one of the main antagonists.
What I like about Demyx is how he acts like such a wimp, but he's really no pushover. His fight is surprisingly challenging, especially if you don't know what you're doing. It took me quite a few tries to take him down.
Fighting Demyx is a pain in the butt. But personally I like him as a character. Crazy how the most laid back member of the organization is the one who gives you the toughest fight.
Honestly the trauma of this battle still stays with you. Even if I hear dance and water in the same sentence I’m like DANCE WATER DANCE. You can’t explain this trauma to someone who hasn’t played this. What’s worse is that after i played this game I came back and was able to defeat him in much less time
At this point it was Demyx trying to clap back at what Sora said to throw them off. When it didn't work that's when he dropped the facade and became emotionless.
@@Contrary22 in character yeah but quite annoying when he uses a special move when you about to finish the character and he takes him away and for some crap he ends up defeating you because of goofy

Maybe that's why they sent him against Sora. Demyx knew Xemnas was lying about members of the Organization not having hearts. To make sure he didn't say too much to the others, Xemnas sent Demyx on a suicide mission knowing he wouldn't survive.
I'm pretty sure Demyx has more info than any organization member is aware of. Listen to his phrases. We do have hearts. Silence, traitor. When they say he probably can't fight, he is shocked but is it because they are right or because it's a big insult? Gets destroyed: oooh.. Through it again. Not to mention how underleveled most of us were when facing him first time. If trying to fight him we lost 10 times and won the 11th that's in a way actually under 10% chance that Demyx's mission was a suicide one. Think about it. Alternate timeline theories and such. Of course when playing a game starring Sora, we play the timeline that goes perfect for Sora, he destroys the members and then the leader. But life has no retry button. Often when I play a game I think how it would affect the story from the point I run into a game over.

Damn Demyx in critical gave me quite some trouble until I learned his movements. Especially since you can easily die in the fights after this one before you get a save point and that means having to do this boss again.
I remember thinking this was going to be another water forms fight. Then he suddenly gets serious and "13th dilemma" plays. Next thing that happens was me losing almost a dozen times. 😬 Best part of the story? Xaldin was worse 😇
It's definitely shocking how tough Demyx and Xaldin are when you consider that Demyx is meant to be considered a wimp among the organization and Xaldin gets beaten by Belle just before fighting you.
I thought Xaldin was light years ahead of Demyx in terms of difficulty...I think he is the member that gave me the hardest time. I really loved this game so much, still one of my favorites of all time. It's right around the time I stopped really playing video games, with the Wii being my last 'major' system to buy, but that's cause I was halfway through college and lived with my buddies. So it made for the perfect system to have for drinking and having on during parties. All of our friends that were girls loved playing too, so it was perfect haha...
I think Square extended the time limit due to complaints over the original only being 10 seconds. It's also possible that choosing the game difficulty determines how much time you get to defeat the water forms.
This mf ruined my childhood game. He was the first to introduce me to real rage as a kid. He turned a nice fun kids game into dark souls and to this day I feel like a victim 😂

Word of advice on critical: remember to turn autolimits off before fighting Demyx. I never died from it when i was younger, but in my recent critical run my deaths happened during the timed portions of these battles because i kept activating Donald's limit while trying to do the reaction commands. Its better to activate the team limit once Demyx is finished his music attack and then get a few melle hits in and avoid attacking him close up. Its good to have knockback equiped too, so you can knock him into the air during a combo and juggle him. Just don't over do it or his water attacks will get you.
I remember back in the day this boss made me rage quit. But now on my most recent play through I beat him no problem with a combination of over leveling, Donald’s Limit and going Wisdom Form to utilize the *KILL IT WITH FIRE* approach.
I remember seeing my brother being so annoyed that when he is very close of getting defeated again he scream and transform into the heartless form and instantly won
Demyx gave me legit problems as a kid. It was usually that I couldn't defeat all the water clones in time. If I recall, not getting them all before the time is up is an automatic loss. But as seen in this video, it's also extremely difficult to close the gap on him before he bolts over to the other side while hitting you to boot.
I've stuck in this level and I'm so frustrated because knowing that there's a few combo skills that I didn't knew and didn't use for the past 10 years 🤷♂️😭
Me: Fanboying and being gay for Demyx Sora: * beats Demyx * Demyx: "Aw...fooled again...." (3:38) Me: *crying and cusing up a storm cause Demyx disappears*
I legit stopped playing this game for a few months as a kid because of Demyx. Finally beating him is one of the best moments I’ve probably ever had in gaming.
@DVJFan Damn son, you learned the algorithm to how an AI works in a video game. Now go play against actual players in another game and get your ass beat
For a nobody, Demyx shows quite a bit of emotion... ALSO HOW COULD YOU SORA!!! Demyx was just a sweetie pie!! If only he could've just knocked him out or sumin ;~; Also if my theory is correct (well borrowed from other people xD) then Demyx was being sent to his death! He was doomed from the start ._.
I remember playing KH2 as a kid for the first time and I could never get past this guy to the point that I rage quit and didn’t play again for a long ass time (to which point the first time I replayed I beat him first try 😂😂)
Even with all that we know now going into KH4, Demyx is still an unsolved mystery... And looking back at this fight now, his death here is definitely exaggerated... He's totally a "Darth Jar-Jar", and I can't be convinced otherwise...
If Demyx turns out to be the real Master of Masters all along and the true Biggest Bad of all...then noone could stick to the beat of dance, water, dance.
I like this fight a lot, a very well designed mid game boss, but Demyx himself is just weird.....it's like Square wanted some comic relief in the Organization so they came up with this character, but he just doesn't fit in. And in Kingdom Hearts 3 he fits in even less, they didn't even explain his or Luxord's origins
When I first played Kingdom Hearts 2, Demyx & Xaldin were so frustrating. That's why you got to be prepared for these later fights with the proper equipment and make sure you're at a high enough level.
I played KH2 when I was 7 years old on PS2 and I always got stuck at Demyx's boss fight. No matter what I tried or even when I asked my brothers to try for me, we always failed. I will always remember this song and regret not going on with the game, especially seeing this video it looks so easy now. P.S. It's also ironic being italian that the only song with an Italian title in the KH2 OST is the one that I got stuck in my head for 17 years ('Scherzo di notte', 'Prank at night')
pecobro 64 Honestly, I gave up after three tries, got doge roll and quick run, then re-challenged him. That was a much smoother battle. Xaldin? Lol that's a fight I don't want to talk about.
I like how he went all badass and said" silence traitor

I've stuck in this level and I'm so frustrated because knowing that there's a few combo skills that I didn't knew and didn't use for the past 10 years 🤷♂️😭
Me: Fanboying and being gay for Demyx
Sora: * beats Demyx *
Demyx: "Aw...fooled again...." (3:38)
Me: *crying and cusing up a storm cause Demyx disappears*
That turn at 1:05 had me thinking Demyx needed a moment to himself before bringing out the "Silence traitor."
Sora: How’d a wimp like you get into Organization XIII?
*Quadruatum exists as a plausible theory.
Demyx is the most interesting org 13 member
Now the "Silence, traitor." line is being used for Odetari.
Yaaa
Came here after watching
Cloudie McDooms parody.
Anyone else?
Demyx is MoM. Remember.
Oh no...
mom is probably luxord
Demyx: You shouldn't judge anyone by appearance.
*weapons appear*
Demyx stumbles back in fear because he judged them by their appearance. Get rekt.
Played through this game twice years ago. Got stuck on this fight both times. Never beat it. Hope to return to it someday.
You know what's even worse about this boss fight? You manage to die at the fight section right after, you're taken back and have to fight him AGAIN.
Demyx. The Sans of Kingdom Hearts
the way he says “You like it?” In between attacks
I legit stopped playing this game for a few months as a kid because of Demyx.
Finally beating him is one of the best moments I’ve probably ever had in gaming.
God i hate fighting justin bieber in kingdom hearts
@DVJFan we get it, you smoke rocks
Its easy if you equip guard and reflect or reflectra just time his attacks and stay away from his water attacks also dont go under level
@DVJFan lmao calm down babe you're so triggered you call other people garbage over a GAME lmaooooo !!!
@DVJFan Damn son, you learned the algorithm to how an AI works in a video game. Now go play against actual players in another game and get your ass beat
Don't diss demyx in such a way
I find that Knocksmash limit is pretty useful since it can just eat Demyx's health away in a hurry
Admittedly badass fight.
For a nobody, Demyx shows quite a bit of emotion... ALSO HOW COULD YOU SORA!!! Demyx was just a sweetie pie!! If only he could've just knocked him out or sumin ;~;
Also if my theory is correct (well borrowed from other people xD) then Demyx was being sent to his death! He was doomed from the start ._.
Cocolamoco hes alive now tho
Only if his heartless was killed before him.
I believe that theory
That was canon in the official manga :,) His death was super sad in there ... ;-;
Cocolamoco I could be wrong, but don't we find out in DDD that all the organization 13 members did actually have hearts in KH2?
I remember playing KH2 as a kid for the first time and I could never get past this guy to the point that I rage quit and didn’t play again for a long ass time (to which point the first time I replayed I beat him first try 😂😂)
You know the game is good at creating drama when you have known Goofy lives for years but this scene still gets you emotional.
Think I'm going to get me a Demyx hairdo.
Even with all that we know now going into KH4, Demyx is still an unsolved mystery... And looking back at this fight now, his death here is definitely exaggerated...
He's totally a "Darth Jar-Jar", and I can't be convinced otherwise...
1:09 reaction face
"Anyone from the Organization who'd like to be next?"
Roxas, that's you?
If Demyx turns out to be the real Master of Masters all along and the true Biggest Bad of all...then noone could stick to the beat of dance, water, dance.
I like this fight a lot, a very well designed mid game boss, but Demyx himself is just weird.....it's like Square wanted some comic relief in the Organization so they came up with this character, but he just doesn't fit in. And in Kingdom Hearts 3 he fits in even less, they didn't even explain his or Luxord's origins
“You shouldn’t judge anyone by appearance”
Me, to Mickey, Sora, and Donald: You silly billy. This is a Kingdom Hearts game. No one can die.
Xemnas and villains:we joke to you?
When I first played Kingdom Hearts 2, Demyx & Xaldin were so frustrating. That's why you got to be prepared for these later fights with the proper equipment and make sure you're at a high enough level.
He’s definitely the master of masters
Demyx is so precious.
Demyx: "Dance, water, dance!"
Me: *Singing* "Dance, magic, dance!"
I played KH2 when I was 7 years old on PS2 and I always got stuck at Demyx's boss fight. No matter what I tried or even when I asked my brothers to try for me, we always failed. I will always remember this song and regret not going on with the game, especially seeing this video it looks so easy now.
P.S. It's also ironic being italian that the only song with an Italian title in the KH2 OST is the one that I got stuck in my head for 17 years ('Scherzo di notte', 'Prank at night')
came here for stats, he just goes valor as soon as the fight starts and gets comboed for 2 minutes. wonderful.
The part where you have to fight the waterforms or else you automatically lose legit took me a year
I have no idea how many times I fought this guy but every time somone quotes this boss fight I glare a them.
pecobro 64 Honestly, I gave up after three tries, got doge roll and quick run, then re-challenged him. That was a much smoother battle.
Xaldin? Lol that's a fight I don't want to talk about.
pecobro 64 hmm... "DANCE WATER DANCE"
Silence, traitor.
