@@mariankevolschenk7182 amen! The only time I regret spending ridiculous amounts of $ on paint/supplies, is when I buy stuff that winds up not getting used😒
Your videos are always a sweet ride from start to finish. Even when talking about supplies, your passion for art still shows through. Keep up the good work!
Shout out to the Victoria Secret bag. I use makeup bags for holding my art supplies and I don't even wear makeup. A friend gave them to me and they actually work really well for keeping my supplies organized. It's really satisfying to me to have a place or case for everything and that everything is easily found.
Your Studio is a dream, i like watching you doing your stuff in your area, talking about things and how you put passion in everything. I learn so much and get inspired. Think you really deserve all this great stuff and a great career. You build this just in your own and that is admirable! Thanks for sharing
If you put block out curtains or UV block out roller blinds on your windows it will help to keep the heat out in summer and the warmth in in winter. I have them on my windows and they help a lot. I also put a reflector fire blanket on my bedroom window and that helps to keep out the heat in summer. But that would get rid of the natural light
man, you're such a wildly different kind of artist than i am and yet even videos like this you always inspire me to get in my own studio and start making. Something about your passion just bleeds through the screen and slaps me in the face every time. Love it dude.
And I thought I was the only one with dirty mixing pallets! So refreshing to see another artist with so many tools,/paints/supplies stored away from previous jobs! I make it a point to go through my stuff to see what is still usable! (Did that recently with tubes of oils.) And stretching your own canvas has to be the most satisfying thing ever! I don't do all mine, but when I want a special size I get out my canvas tools and stretch away! I love seeing what you work with. Kind of let's us other artists know we are in a special world when it comes to our tools and environment.
Hey, would you make a video teaching how to prep canvases. Cutting out the cotton, linen or wood, priming, etc please .I love your videos & art of course btw
Dude if you ever need an idea for a video it would be super cool to see you use/ experiment with gouache!! I’m super obsessed with the medium right now and it would be super awesome to see some of your og characters in such a velvety graphic medium ✨
Thanks so much. Love seeing how you have things set up. The burning question is how do you keep your oil painting solvent cup so clean? It always looks brand new. How do you handle and clean your oil brushes
Your studio is messy but also beautiful to look at! Messy in a good way, everything is organized to their own purpose in your own perspective. I'm really astounded I bet it took a lot of time to set it all up! I love it!
Awesome! Great to see and love the fact you consider yourself lucky instead of taking it for granted. I can only dream of ever owning a studio.... been dreaming about it for 20 years now. And it probably will remain just a dream for at least the next 5 to 10 years. But, one day! Right now I do all my work in the living room, kitchen and on the balcony. It's pretty horrible. Never have enough room and I spend ages on first finding all the stuff and than cleaning it up again afterwards. I probably spend at leas 25-30% of my creative time just on finding stuff before use and finding places to store them again after use. I really hate that! The iPad is also something I really really want... I need the pro 12. something inch. But it's really crazy expensive... 😒
You really inspired me to even try TH-cam. I always thought there were too many art pages to even get noticed but seeing you grow as much as you have , and not even finished, really pushed me. Congrats and Keep at it!
I dig these kinds of videos, informative but also fun to watch and it's nice seeing someone talk about stuff they are passionate about Although I did get a little dizzy
I love your work the way you prep your tools so organized, your art is just amazing and you love it while you work, your just an inspiration for me I've started about a year now and your content is so helpful thank you so much ✌🏽
i literally just found your channel today and i’ve been watching videos since i woke up. i now am inspired to work on my art again and bought more supplies. 😭🤣
I woke up and I was like, wait I just saw a new slew video. Man we are getting spoiled now! Woo so happy to see more videos! Also, please start an art class!
every hobby can be expensive depending on what level, how involved you are as well as what scale you are working at. BUT IN THE END YOU ONLY NEED A PENCIL AND PAPER TO DRAW!
@@slewp im sitting on my desk right now working on my high school art major, pencil on paper. thankfully for now, school funds it, though anxious about expenses of pursing fine arts in college and beyond, and how satisfying but gruelling setting up a studio would be 😬your positivity and success is insanely inspiring though, i am hooked
I want to invest on an iPad, saving up first cause it's so expensive here in my country. Just want to ask though, is ProCreate an app that is already installed or do I have to pay to get it? Love your videos btw, so motivating! 💪
SLEW. great vid as usual. I'm curious about your go-to mechanical pencil you seem to always use. just the specs. is it 2mm? I've seem you use it in almost every vid. Looks like you can work with it flat as well. got a Graph Gear 1000 0.7 great unit but want something I can scumble with and I've got choice fatigue too many options. so wanna just copy you! How lazy is that?
Paused video to say ( paint on anything moment)..yesterday, I painted portraits on hallow egg shells. Super fun, I’d like you to try it. Ok...back to your video .
Hey! Love this - i was looking on ur channel but i couldnt find a video about how you make and stretch your own canvases... would you want to make a video about that bc if u did i would love that and im sure a lot of people would. love all ur work!
The Blick store I work at got shut down because of the virus but this gave me hardcore flashbacks. “Yes mam you need more than just paint to paint with oil.”
It varies from state to state! We typically look for 20+ though, at least with my location. It helps us find people who really know the products already.
I love this shit. I'm in the process of ripping up my whole studio in LA and organizing stuff a lot better. I got tons of inspiration from watching this. Keep up the amazing work. #ThugLifeTilliFuckinDie
When he pulled out the Victoria’s Secret bag that holds all his water colors had me 😂😂
Mrs Wray lmao I know. Great bag tho to carry things around !
HAHAHA same

Masani Keels perhaps in the future. Most of the videos when I do prep or stretch I try to walk through it. Thanks for the comment
This is the dopest studio tour I’ve seen. You’ve got such a sick workspace.
Cool video! The Victoria's Secret bag was an interesting form of storage tho
Keep up the great work and greetings from Belgium!

that sounds awesome!
Maybe if you storage your spray cans on horizontal you can reach them easily. Idk if there's a problem on leaving the can in this position.
Another awesome vid . Great to see you have numerous mediums. Creating art with so many different things is so good ✌️🔥✌️🇦🇺✌️

Paul Reveer more like: Him: These are all essentials.. Also him: just a bunch of crap..
You are one of my new favs! Thank you. Love how excited you get about all your stuff!
Looking good! Maybe you could build some sliding drawers for the spray paint cabinet so you don’t have to take them all out!
I love your vibe dude.
Just want to say I really appreciate your passion for the craft. Really inspiring! 😁

I wan to know how you clean up your glass palette. Do you wipe off excess with a scraper and then use the mineral spirit?

Dude your a fkin legend man unreal...Crazy inspiration shout out from Canada.
Hi Slew! Where do you usually buy art materials? i’ve been trying to buy some materials online but i haven’t found any site that convinces me.
yeah usually generic stuff i get from amazing.. But more artist specific studd is better to get in store. sadly now is not a time to do that however.
It’s really awesome place for a artist to get lost in. 👍
