- In this video we will build a poor mans logic probe which uses your PC sound input to capture logic signals.
1.Build the “logic probe”
2. Set up the PC capture software
3. Reverse engineer a 433MHz RF remote with this “poor mans logic analyzer”
We will build up the test setup step by step and I will show some interesting details about audio inputs that I learned on the way.

This is very creative and the video is very clear and well put together. Thank you very much, this is exactly the kind of video I wish there was more of.
Wow! Great video. Thank you very much sir!
Hi, could you input the excel also in link to download it, It will be great to see the calculation you did, Thanks
Hi odeds358, just added it in the comments. Please try the link 🙂
Thanks, I learn a lot from your movies@@smartpowerelectronics8779
can I use it on a CRT from an iMac G3 so I can use it as an external display?
Thanks, I plan to try it. Is there tolerance in the resistors that I can use?
Not too critical, it depends a bit on your PC, but for my case +/-50% is not a problem 🙂
Waw, this is amazing! Great ingenuity! Where from?
Thanks Philip, originally from the Netherlands 🙂
Originally planned to do this in an hour, I mean , EZ, how difficult can it be?
....it took me a 2 weeks to take all the hurdles..so lets say....I learned a lot about audio inputs.
@@smartpowerelectronics8779 Cool! Ik meende al een Nederlandse/Belgische tongval te herkennen! Ik van België. Ik was verrast van de wijze waarop u de signalen gedecodeerd hebt. Knap staaltje!
Haha precies, dat accent is wel duidelijk 🙂. By the way if you want to reverse engineer anything I suggest you buy a cheap clone logic analyzer, much easier to use.
