I love mine. Dave has been amazing to work with. I met him at NAMM several years ago when he was showing the first generation. I'm sure I wasn't the only one, but I did recommend the removable lid... I've seen several other reviews where people ask about how to lock it. There is a hole near the latch that you can run a padlock through.
I've only had issues with flying American, but any guitar case is oversize for them. It'll cost you an extra $200 if you fly American (without media credentials) no matter what :/
I'm deep into researching whether or not to buy one of these, here's what I've found: Most airlines consider >62 inches total dimensions oversized, so while a very slim guitar hardcase could potentially slip under any single bass case you'd feel comfortable checking won't. Most airlines also have an upper limit on how oversize they'll allow (Southwest / Delta is 80, for example) but also have musical instrument policies that allow substantially larger and which this thing should fit within no problem. I'm personally sort of thinking that if bringing one bass is always going to require paying the oversize fee I might as well bring two.
@@jason.braatz I've only had trouble with American - you need a media pass or license or else they'll charge you $400 extra :( But everyone else is fine, and I fly all the time.
Geez I'm really not sure, and this isn't with me at the moment to go check , it's at my tour locker. I'd say just take it to your local hardware store and they should be able to help you. Or call Dave at ENKI :)
Hey bro, thank you for this video was super helpful, im hot rodding mine too, but i have a question, do you happen to remember the lenth of the axle?? Was it 6” long or maybe 5 1/2” ????
this thing is pretty badass it's actually better the Scott Dixon cases that I referred too, the foam doesn't seem to wear down so that a plus :) how the new wheels treating u with issues u had ?
Great review! I tricked out my Enki dual guitar case to better accommodate 2 Les Pauls, and added lights. I love your skateboard wheel idea. That’s gonna be next!
@@aviator_bryan Nice! I'd love to see how you put lights on the inside! There's not too much room with 2 basses in there but I'm all for it! Thanks Bryan!
Is that a Gibson Grabber in there? The skateboard wheels were not only a great idea but the Powell Peralta wheels look awesome! The wider the wheels are the less prone they would be to bend an axle again I would assume. I would recommend getting Grade 8 bolts if they ever do bend again. Bolts are 'graded'; 8 being the strongest. Have you ever noticed those little marks on the head of a bolt? They let you know what grade (strength) they are. If they don't have marks, then they are grade 3 (fairly weak); one mark would be grade 4; two marks would be grade 5, and so on. If they have five marks (kinda looks like a star or asterik), then they are grade 8 (3+5=you guessed it, 8). Slightly confusing and definitely long winded...but I'm sure this would be the end of bent axle bolts! Bass Clef '):
really nice!! ive been quite desperate for a proper flightcase i ordered a scott dixon triple row case 7 months ago and they have horrifying customer service and ive not gotten my case from them so im sort of looking elsewhere now and next step would be trying to get my money back from scott dixon and put them into ENKI if they ship worldwide? i wonder if the bass case would be fit for a rickenbacker4003?
The benefit here is you won't pay weight overages; with 3 basses you'll definitely pay extra. This thing ships with two basses for under 50 lbs :) A very big deal if you fly as often as I do. Hope that helps!

Top notch review, Jayme! I'm sold.
thanks dude!
Oh my god, when you pushed it over. 😱😱. But that is exactly what I needed to see. Thank you!
i need this! great review thanks Jayme
Thanks Ivan! Go talk to Dave, tell him I sent ya. He'll help you get one in your hands. It's such a rad case dude!
very nice Jayme thank you sir
You're welcome Mark!
You sold me with the “dozen flights” I fly constantly and I always bring 2 basses.
Do the side walls bend in easily?
Hey will my Epiphone Thunderbird Vintage pro fit in this case?? Just wondering since it has that big ass headstock will there be clearance
Did you have to change out the hardware to accommodate the wheels?
triple guitar case gonna be awesome!
I love that you used skateboarding wheels, I used to skate when I was younger. Interested in this case.
Haha me too! I love it ;)
Great Idea on the wheels thank you cheers
You're more than welcome!
Do you know if a Modern Sadowsky bass will fit in these cases
So are there zero overage costs when flying with this case? I know it’s under weight, but is it within dimensional parameters?

@@deadbeatstudios I argued with them and referred them to their musical instrument policy. I didn't get any charges. But that was one trip.
Nice Review! Just a quick question on the replacement axle bolts that you installed. What’s the length? Thank you.

Wonder if they have Guitar and Bass case in one
I'm sure you could fit a guitar into the bass case. Never tried it but I don't see why it wouldn't work!
Did you change the wheelset or just the wheels also what diameter?
Just needs to be watetproof!

Sorry, I don't recall the length of the axle. I know I bought one that was too big but it still worked out. Hope that helps!
Can u safe fit two AR-15 rifle with mounted scope in it?

The new wheels are great; I've taken it out twice since and it's killing it!
anyone know if a jaguar bass fits in the bass case?

I got the black 64mm Powell Peralta G Bones. Gonna look super cool.

Your going to have to start offering a light kit for sale... Might cramp your jet setting lifestyle running a new small business.
@@aviator_bryando you need to get a different spacer for the axel/bearings since the wheels are wider?
Great video. I wonder if Enki makes a single case?!? I'll check it out.
I don't think they do. Just buy a second bass to compensate ;)
They’ve upgraded the wheels to skateboard style wheels, I’ve definitely listened to you haha
Haha ya I was talking to Dave about that at NAMM :)

Would it hold a bass and a normal guitar?
yes :)
3:53 to 3:58 very funny hahahaha
I remember, Ola Englund had problems with this. Did they pay you money back for the broken wheels?
no, I was able to replace it for about 50 cents
@@deadbeatstudios yes, time and effort, and at the end, DIY :)
