@camrin69 I'm not referring to the raspiness. I'm talking about the power that Jonny puts in such as the chorus. Listen to singers like Christina Aguilera and Aretha Franklin. Those are singers that use a lot of chest power as well and you can hear the intensity. It takes effort to scream like Tilian does, but it's not in the chest. That's the throat and I'm not talking about that.
@elchangux Actually, he does. He has a backing choir as a matter of fact. The whole shebang. Does that mean that Justin is "losing it?" No. Fun trivia, those notes are not higher than say, the first words in "The Past Should Stay Dead" which he hits day after day.
@horrorfan35 probably not a lot. they most likely just make purify it (no background noise or shit) and I'm sure they alter pitch a little bit, just to make it sound like they want on the album. since live he changes things a little bit.
@craigdavid00 Well I say raspy as in he sings from his chest which gives him a distinct voice. And yea I understand. They have different ways of singing. Different strengths.
the left guitar player looks alike the brother of jonny and a little bit like mike hrancia (the devil wears prada) when he make the backing vocals at 2:45
@craigdavid00 He can put strength in his voice, he just didn't at that time. Listen to Knowing Live by them at this same show, he belts the chorus. I think he sounds pitchy also because he already sang and played his whole set perhaps
that's the new singer of dance gavin dance you're talking about too. and he does a kickass job harmonizing, you just cant tell cause of the shoddy audio quality.
@good1life Just because the backup sings higher doesnt mean he has more range. Everyone sings in different octaves. Jonny Craig can hit everything within his own.
@ZosoDelta cause Johnny Craig can do w/e he wants...it is said that when he sings that the guitar sound comes from his voice also along with his sexy voice also dont touch his mullet or u will explode
@WeHaveFreshCookies nah dude i just listened to it again last night theres a bunch of multiple vocal track but theres no jonny on jonny actual harmonizing in any unless its from another member in the band :p
@camrin69 That's because Jonny is belting as well as putting grit into it, and he always gives it 100 percent. It's "effortless" for Tilian because he's simply singing it mildly, he's not putting any power into it all. He also sounds kind of pitchy which would imply that his range is less than Jonny's or that he at least doesn't have as much power. There's a video on here of them covering Cry Me a River and they sing back and forth. Jonny clearly has the stronger voice and that's what matters.
@ShInOomfgitsme When compared to Tilian, yes. Look at his neck, you can tell he's trying his hardest. Which is good. But when you look at Tilian it's so effortless for him. He has so much potential and he is only going to sky rocket from here. 2:28 is where they have a sing off. Tilian's mic is even lower than Jonny's haha
@elchangux Yeah because his "earlier" stuff was his "band" stuff. This is his solo project, and the songs have multiple instruments and vocals going off. Thus he gets a live band. Justin Timberlake for example. He has live bands too for his solo performances. He's not missing the notes for the parts that he's singing, so what's the problem? He's "losing it" because he's not belting out that part? Do you even know what notes they're in and if you do, is it impossible for him to hit it? Why?
Despite Johnny's awesome voice, I really enjoyed Craig Owen's presence on the stage. Those two were always meant to be in the same band. Its a shame that ol dance gavin dance broke up. But, DGD breaking up led to the rise of an even greater band, Isles & Glaciers
@CloudsConveyify So you honestly can't tell the difference from say this song, and "Recognize the Fall" from Ghost Runner on Third? It's funny because he sings in his mid range in his solo project where as he would sing it the upper register in "DBM" DGD. Completely different. Most of his songs are very R&B oriented, but he takes it to the max in his solo project. And you don't think he's one of the greatest? Awesome. I really don't care nor did I ever make such a claim in that realm.
Holy shit that young tillian
Jacob Stutzman lol
That awkward moment when you go from filling in backup vocals for Jonny Craig to replacing him in all of his bands
It was TIllian's entire old band Tides of Man haha
Both bands moved on from their vocalists and Tillian ended up in DGD.
Crazy shit
Holy shit I never realized that was Tillian until I read this comment
Yes he is a hero in disguise here. Soon become a great man.
Fun fact most them are pretty close still to this day.
@@joshisnot11 when Jonny left Emarosa in 2011 Tillian also replaced him in tour :v
He has sooo much soul in his voice. It's never something anyone can learn, Jonny is just a boss.
I still want my mac part 27

9 years later this comment has aged just so so well
12 years later still gold

I honestly dont care if people say someone hates a person because of his actions, im here for the music.
I miss when you used to post these kind of videos, instead of the interviews. I mean, you used to post like 10 at a time. Loved that!

nice apocore, actually managed to catch a sweet vid of jonny!
Amazingg. I like when tilian sings along too. But jonny says and alot lol
He tried it for The Voice but they refused him due to his crazy past.
it was because of his fanbase, they thought it would be an advantage
And now Slaves replaced him with a guy that has been to The Voice
@@daspam6526 that doesn’t make sense though, Cassadee Pope was already somewhat famous with Hey Monday when she won the Voice
i love it when he yells. he sounds so much better when he does :)

Yeah you can tell he didn't practice it really he was probably like "fuck it I'll do harmonies" lmao.
the rhythm guitarist really has a voice
You mean tillian? Lol who replaced Jonny
yep the dude is in talks with Saosin, they confirmed it.
@horrorfan35 probably not a lot. they most likely just make purify it (no background noise or shit) and I'm sure they alter pitch a little bit, just to make it sound like they want on the album. since live he changes things a little bit.
@OhmygoditsCollin no, the two guitarists on the left are from tides of man along with the bass player. idk who the guitar player on the right is.
hope so visit here on phil
@federicooe download his album. its the intro song.
the guy with the glasses, the guy from tides of man?
@craigdavid00 Well I say raspy as in he sings from his chest which gives him a distinct voice. And yea I understand. They have different ways of singing. Different strengths.

isnt the guitarist who sings the guy from Tides of Man??
Fucking eargasm.
fuckin badass
Everyone who is giving crap to the guitarist/vox needs to check them out. Tides of Man. He deserves respect.
3:12 epic balloon slap
straight up, Jonny Craig is the only guy that can rock a mullet and a mustache at the same time
@craigdavid00 He can put strength in his voice, he just didn't at that time. Listen to Knowing Live by them at this same show, he belts the chorus. I think he sounds pitchy also because he already sang and played his whole set perhaps
@ultragokutorch yes
Emarosa!
The gods cry and melt where they stand when he hits a high note, any one agree?
we shall see.
Fuck jonny is amazing
whats jonny craig currently focused on? i havnt found that out yet
he is like white chinese and black....
white = his skin color / hair do
chinese = his eyes / mustache
black = his R&B style amazing fucking voice
@HockeyFighter852 i was gonna say he's playing a parker ;)
that's the new singer of dance gavin dance you're talking about too.

@Josescutewifey that the singer from tides of man... go listen to him his voice is fucking amazing
dude is that Tillian from TOM playing guitar?! lol
@CloudsConveyify Do you have anything coherent to say?
@tmacfan01 You must not have ever heard Tides of Man. They're greatness.
Tides of Man is playing his songs... YES?!
i honestly don't think that you can get better than the mighty JC!
You're talking about Tilian Pearson there, buddy. He's got a great voice, and I thought he did a great job.
@heidler182 "Its because jonny cant harmonize his own voice in the studio" wtf are you talking about?
@kushmonster24 I know!
I don't think that people could listen to that, without having some sort of cardiac arrest, from too much awesome.
Why Is Tides of Man his backing band??
@ZosoDelta two guitarists and a bass.
Despite Johnny's awesome voice, I really enjoyed Craig Owen's presence on the stage. Those two were always meant to be in the same band. Its a shame that ol dance gavin dance broke up. But, DGD breaking up led to the rise of an even greater band, Isles & Glaciers

are those guys playing for johny in any band? or are they just random signed people
Then lets see you harmonize with those vocals, no?...didn't think so
He did a great job
Is that MOD SUN drumming?
