- 001 - Elements and Molecules
In this video Paul Andersen explains how elements and molecules are made of atoms. In a pure sample of a pure substance the average mass remains the same. If more than one atom is found in a molecule the ration of average masses remains the same. If two elements have the same atoms but differ in arrangement the ratio of average masses will vary.

YOU GOT ME THROUGH AP BIOLOGY TWO YEARS AGO IM TRUSTING YOU TO GET ME THROUGH AP CHEM ON MONDAY thanks for your existence, Bozeman
Same!
He is a mgtow god.
Does this video series follow with the AP Chem class closely? I am taking it next year and am trying to prepare for it over the summer. Thanks!
Yo did he get you through AP Chem?
How did you do?
Mr. Andersen, I am 35 years old and began my first semester back to college after 14 years. I found you here last week and I can't thank you enough for your infinite Knowledge. Your analogies help me understand the material much better. My favorite analogy yet is the one of your Star Wars action figures for the octet rule. I wish more teachers were as passionate as you. Thank you very much!
Did you finished the college¿
@@abdirasteg6970 im wondering too, I’m 35 now and I’m in my 2nd year taking up Psychology. It takes me 14 yrs to decide to go back to college too. Came her for my biological psychology subject
AP Chem Test tomorrow after graduating a semester early from highschool, I feel soooo much ready now after watching all 71 videos and taking notes!!! If you guys find this series early on I'd recommend AT LEAST two weeks before the exam to bingewatch all of the videos and take good notes (and then if you want binge-watch all Crash Course Chemistry videos and do the same), then go to khan academy to do a bunch of practice and the day or two before the exam to re-watch the entire playlist again! Thank you Mr.Andersen you explained this a lot better than most teachers!
I am teaching AP Chemistry for the first time this coming Fall. Thank you so much for your dedication. Keep inspiring my friend!
My Chem teacher recommended this to me, and I have to say this helped immensely. 11years and still relevant and relatable. Thx so much!
I know you probably get this a lot, but YOU SAVED MY LIFE. Your videos helped me so much on the AP exams. You're amazing!
I'm actually in college taking General Chemistry II and watching this AP Chemistry videos. They go very well with the material we are learning.
It is great to know that there are people like yourself sir. Keep up helping others.
Thanks!
>Taking PreAP chem and AP chem next year
This guy is my hero for the next two years.
Mr. Anderson thanks so much for making these videos they have been so helpful. I actually got an A for Bio/Organic Chemistry class. I hope you make more I have Chem II class soon
THIS IS GOING TO BE AMAZING, I PASSES AP BIO WITH YOU, NOW I'M GOING TO SELF STUDY AP CHEM WITH YOUR VIDEOS. THANK YOU!!!
Absolutely love how visual these videos are. Much love.
Looking forward to this series!
The lego analogy was really easy to understand. I have a newfound interest in the water sitting on my desk (which I now know is made of molecules). Hooray for molecules or we wouldn't be alive!
you explain it very good.
that was actually super helpful. i was very lost before and now it makes sense. thank you!
ps, my teacher sucks at explaining things :/
who else has to watch this
:/
when you have your AP test tomorrow
Does this video series follow with the AP Chem class closely? I am taking it next year and am trying to prepare for it over the summer. Thanks!
I was gonna get a 2 (know that because I failed 3 mock exams). Binge watching this along with Khan Academy got me a 3 on the actual exam
@@jasongomez6783 bruh thats what im doing this year
very good explanation of basic science principle in very simple ,but effective manner.
That school picture day Background. Liked the video you helped me with my homework thanks Bozeman!
thank you very much for making this video it has helped me alot. i have been struggling with this concept since 10grade now i am in 11grade and i understand evry bit of this. Again thank you.
your obviously a professional! THANK YOU FOR NOT HAVE DRUG MUSIC AS BACKGROUND! or any music at all! clearly you have noticed that Nobody plays music during lectures. however you have chemistry essentials -001 were is 002? i have gone threw your videos but dont see any series however i have not looked at ap chemistry.
Does anyone else find Mr. Anderson irresistible?
I was about to unsub because I was like "I'm done with AP bio" but then I'm staying because of this!
Thank you so much :D
OMG I'm so glad you're doing chem now... you helped me get through AP BIo last year... coincidentally I'm taking AP Chem next year.. It's like...we're related or something.
u help me pass my chemistry quiz with 94
Hi, if one divide pure substances in Elements and Molecules, where does Oxygene O2 belongs to?
So helpful!!! Thank you
yayaa Chem vids! taking chem soon. Thanks alot Paul
that was really helpful thanks cause iv been studying for science in nz for acids and bases exam in 3 weeks thank u
I want more! Thanks!
Cant wait for the next lesson!
i have done exactly what your talking about which is studying chemistry threw history and have read many books in 1970 their was alchemist cookbooks which were very funny and i thought was a comedy and read them for amusement but never took it seriously unfortunately what they were say was true! nitroglycerin and nitrocellulose are actually made that way which i thought was the prefect definition of a MAD BOMBER! any body who would stir a pot with a thermometer waiting for it to explode is clinically insane! this brings me to the candle! this is the basis for chemistry i have a book from England i paid $50 from the first chemist in England part of the foundation of chemistry but the book conveyed no information you clearly explained what the candle does! in 1976 my first chemistry instructor did this experiment and yes i thought it transformed the matter to energy. but this brings me to the question which is REDOX and the point! i read a chemistry experiment and thought it was very interesting and wanted to try it but at the end it said it was a bomb like a fool i would have done it and i have blown myself up in chemistry by following orders! the point of the experiment was how long did it take for the reaction to take place and it can take years! so thats what redox and a bomb is all about the length for the reaction to take place. but what is redox? is their a name for the study of bomb making its not making the bomb but the fact that it happens and WHY! its a redox reaction but what does that mean why does nitro blow UP! its one of the basic laws you need to know so you dont do it!
Thank you! I am so glad you have made these lessons. Thank you, thank you.
Great videos. Any chance of one on Absorbance calculations. Beers Law etc. Keep up the good work!
Very nice presentation, appreciate your craft sir. I do think not talking about isotopes is a mistake, this confused me in later learning until I understood what the word element means and I am still learning
It is a layer of complexity that should to be introduced earlier in science education?.
I love your video's so much. Thank you for making them.
I teach chemistry. Every other one of your other videos are terrific, but I found the idea of 'average mass' confusing, and feel it doesn't help with the concept. Maybe if the elements are grounded in the number of protons instead?
Stephen Anastasi I also teach chemistry and I agree. I think "mass per particle" where a particle can mean an atom or molecule would have been much clearer.
Thanks sir for this video it is really helpful for my study
Why am I watching this while I'm supposed to be studying Meiosis and Mitosis for my bio test tomorrow... Ehh same channel at least
love your videos.
wow cmon never unsub!!
THANKKKK YOUUU VERYYY MUUUCH FOOOORRR THISSS!! ❤❤
this is explained so well!! thankyou
your videos are so helpful!! thank you so much!!
Learn something new everyday.
Thank you for this vid, very cool; we loved it!

Only few more weeks until AP Chem test so I'm here lmao !
Please do more of these AP Chem videos!!!!
I like his guy he is so good
does anyone watch Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood?
Bozemanchemistry? Thanks for the video!
Harry Potter had the philosopher's stone Lol. Very good video
yeah I'm still subbed don't worry man
How helpful would these videos be for me to learn AP Chemistry and get a good grade on the AP Chemistry grade? also would I still need to use a Chemistry book? Thank you
AP Chem: And so it begins.
Here's to 5s all around!
Gold on the PeriodicTable of Elements is AU from the Latin word AUrum for gold! Like Lead is PB/Pb for "P"lum"B"ium, again Latin for Lead!
Question
What I don't understand is when elements are radioactive like element 118. Why can you create a new element by bashing together to lower elements and not remove or change things so we have a step down in the reverse direction? Or would like just be a different version of splitting the atom and big boom and nobody has eyebrows and they have a third arm instead :)
I think I'm missing a basic step because I'm a neophyte. Thank you anyone who can help me out.
How much would a molecule of phosphorus weight?
YAY AP CHEM! thank god i decided to take ap chem this year :DD
I watched it ms Ibrahim I swear to god
2019 AP Chem anyone?
5:06 you're not adding more units. Your units are simply heavier
Out of curiosity, would you ever be interested in doing in a LIVE videos ? Not only on biology but about yourself and more..
Thanks!
you're welcome
Thank u !
u is da realist
my grandparents last name is bozeman
how you make the intro??
If only you did Ap Calc...
Gratitudes
Le Ms. Ibrahim army signing in
I was going very well until 5:02.
Nice~
Same thing here!
Call me crazy, but Alchemy always was and still is a mental art. The 'lead into gold' is analogous to the unrefined mental state (lead) into the (gold) of the enlightened consciousness through the art of transmutation, which is the essence of Alchemy.
There must be a good reason why one of the greatest [scientific] minds in history, Newton, spent much of his time making esoteric knowledge exoteric.
Good...
Im here because of Mr. Colon
that is an.... unfortunate name for a teacher.
That was helpful
you give Bio its true meaning! Thank you!!!! =) woot woot
vestigial structures
This guy is great. Except, just like AP Bio, Psych, Macroecon, etc etc... I can bet that I'm not watching most of these videos till crunch time AP week :( against my better judgement bc I have no self-control. Holds vague hopes that AP Chem will be different.
Me too!!
Eh the explanation at the end confused me
Who's here before the AP test tmrwwww
😔
1 month out from AP chem exam
my soulmate :3333 uwuwuwuwu
philosophers' stone is made of humans x'D!!!~ Full metal Alchemist
icanmakemusic362 Don't ruin what xD? Oh sorry for the SPOILERS, Mister WEABOO
When you are taking ap chem.
i have brain cancer
bitch you dont control me fuck the police
You speak to fast
I am a Ph.D student in biology, and watching this for some review of my undergrad chemistry class(i took chem, organic chem I&II, and biochemistry). In my opinion, this guy has a confusing style of teaching........ not an accurate example. I will just audit my college lecture than watch this.
