Not me crying with you over larpgirls, while never been to a larp or intending to. But women supporting women and standing their ground in a community that men somehow think that they own... I love it ❤
I'm a larper and considered doing larp youtubing but holy hell. I understand why Momo stopped. A lot of larpers peaked in high school and have a very mob like mentality and it feels like a popularity contest, it's like mean girls but with adults. People will lie and steal and falsely accused other people of doing things even extreme crimes at events that they didn't even attend just out of jealousy. It's not a safe place anymore sadly since social media. Everyone's guilty till proven innocent.
@@thehappytriceratops2822 The everyone is guilty til proven innocent mentality only got worse with the rise of Twitter. Now you have to prove you're not X (which if you're not, you'll have no proof because you cannot prove you AREN'T something in the eyes of the internet) which is horrible. People are accused of being multiple isms by what they say being taken out of context.
Don't worry about being a buzzkill! I'm personally believe that it is super important to have serious conversations about what goes on in the community. I also love reflecting on how things have improved. I was one of those young girls who found you and started larping. I have never actually attended a "serious" larp with a storyline but I really wanted to. But when I find one, it scares me because I don't want to be stressed out trying to keep the machine rolling. I have severe ADHD and RSD and find it hard to remember things and prevent myself from over committing. I'm also bad at improv and I'm terrified of being detrimental to the event. Quite frankly, I wish that all LARPS are like the goat larp, being very relaxed and without pressure.
OMG SAME!!!! This is why I don't larp. It's just too much and taken way too seriously by people for my taste! I have a processing delay and ADHD too so my brain can only follow so many plot/character/quest details at a time before just giving up entirely. Imagining having to play along in-character, interacting with other people's fully fleshed out characters and plots (and even pretend accents) really gives me very high anxiety! Hell, I sometimes freeze up just playing pretend with my 4 year old nephew! lol. I am very enamored by larping, especially the ren. fair/cottagecore/witchy vibe (or also hogwarts), but I kinda just want some sort of "diet-LARP", like I just want to play as my IRL self simply existing and assimilating into the environment, enjoying a slice of life, chilling like a boring NPC while the real players are off questing very far away. No battles, no sides to choose, no great mysteries to solve, no plotlines to try and shoehorn myself into, no pressure to contribute. This goat thing was the closest i've seen to my dream larping but even that was a little too chaotic for me. So yeah... I think this really needs to be a thing!
@@calliemyersbuchanan6458 Please start a group because I'd be all over this! I have all the same worries/fears you've described, so I can totally relate to both this comment and the one above it!
@@calliemyersbuchanan6458 You two sound so similar to me. I also have ADHD and would love to have a chill larping experience! Imagine if we all met and larped with the people in the replies!
Also Momo, you have always helped me feel POWERFUL in pastels. I know this probably doesn’t mean much but pastels, and light traditionally feminine colors do not make us weak. They are beautiful and symbolize purity of heart and spirit. And I hope you know how much you have helped sooo many people
You were the person who introduced me to Larp as something that's actually cool, I never understood why you got so much unneeded hate and misogyny for just being feminine, its ridiculous.
Because of you, I was able to start up a LARP group at my all-girl school! We have 40+ members and growing, and I'm so grateful for being able to learn about this amazing community through your humour, aesthetics and just generally amazing personality
This women has such a special part of my heart because of the positivity and love and openness she shared with the world. Every word she has spoken has inspired me to be myself and have my own interests and feel myself. Love this girl and I love her channel and I’m so happy I’ve found her videos.
When I was very young, I loved to play with my barbies. I'd make these complex storylines and did so with my friends. It was the first form of roleplay I was every introduced to. And then as I got older, my mom ended up convincing me to donate my dolls and playsets to the school she worked at for the kids in daycare. I did so and it felt good but I lost that output of creativity. For years, I was really lost and felt that my super active imagination was childish and weird. But then I came across your videos in middle school and high school and that completely changed. I started looking into Larp and roleplay in general and ended up roleplaying in video games. I finally had that outlet that I needed and started writing as well. You inspired me so much and I really wanted to thank you for that. I'm going to be 19 next month and I feel like I'm living my life to the fullest. Something I really value in life is satisfaction and overall happiness and I've never been more happy to be creative and feminine.
Momo walked so we could run. Momo literally inspired me to indulge in being creative and exploring LARP and so many other things. My absolute favorite TH-camr.
As someone who's struggled with femininity all my life, thank you so much for sharing your feelings on what it's like to be femme in a larp setting. I've had a lot of negative experiences at places like anime cons that have impacted my self image and made me not want to ever admit to liking anything that could be classified as femininely. It wasn't really until I started identifying as genderqueer that I felt more comfortable to explore both femininity and masculinity within myself! Your videos have helped me A LOT with coming to terms with my own identity and feeling comfortable again in male dominant spaces. I feel like i've taken back a lot of power and authority over my own body and identity that I didn't realize I was lacking in my youth. I am so excited to begin larping and be able to explore being both femme and masc characters in fantasy settings!! THANK YOU MOMO! And thank you Kaz and Az, for being huge inspirations as well
Oh, you are such a force of warmth and healing Momo! You should be so proud of yourself and all the amazing adventures you've taken us on. I know it's not been an easy road, thank you for showing us the bumps along the way. You're channel gives my nerdy little heart hope.
You hit us with the deep emotional bit AND These Bones at the same time? I am currently crying. But, in all seriousness, I am so sorry for your experience in the LARP community. As a young man who has grown up with you as a role model, I am committed to being part of the culture shift that is so sorely needed in the LARP world and the greater one.
Oh *that's* where I recognized that song from! Thank you, I thought that that sounded familiar, and now I'm remembering it's because Azrai did a cover of it a while back! Aaah the emotions... It is a beautiful song.
Yep, definitely cried over this! I discovered early on that as a girl, playing a healer and a cutesy silly less intelligent character was easy and met with love, but playing a powerful character prepared to take up space and speak up, although harder, was incredibly rewarding. spitting in faces is definitely a phrase I love. thank you for your content, it has been my comfort channel for a few years now, and not only is it important to not be afraid to be feminine at larp, don't be afraid to take up space and be unapologetically feminine!
LARP shouldn’t take itself to seriously, we all do it to escape the harshness of reality! If ANYONE wants to be feminine or different in any sort of manner, LET THEM as it’s comfortable! LARP is for everyone ❤️
It doesn’t always have to be just for fun. For some people, it is a form of therapy or a way to explore the many facets of one’s personality or address certain social/moral issues that are often just abstract concepts when only discussed or a form of breaking out of one’s social shell!
I love that you actually show emotions, instead of pretending to be perfect on the internet as most would expect. It makes you a real person, instead of a face on the screen
Hi, one of your larp girls here. When i started out larping me and my friends held your (also Kaza and Azs) Videos close to every step we took. From making costumes to planning our packs, we did everything by your book and had such great experiences because of you all. I connected to others over your videos for years now, and can proudly tell you some of those girls you readied for larp are running these events now. Thank you for all you do
Because of you I started playing Dungeons and Dragons- and I now have the most amazing friends who love me and have been the best parts of my life these past 2 1/2 years!!! My mom’s favorite poem- Success by Ralph Waldo Emerson is a really good representation of your effect for young women in Male Dominated Nerd Spaces. You have inspired so many people on an individual level- and that has grown into a community that feels so welcoming and loving. 💖💖💖
As a D&D nerd, LARP nerd and general lover of all things immersive. All of these experiences are very much enriched by having the feminine identity present, and should be celebrated.
Oh my gosh I love it! This LARP feels like…a giant crossover?? Like you’ve got Vikings and fairies, big city noir detectives, hobbits and wizard fraternity brothers, but they’re all interacting with each other in character??? WITH GOATS?! I love it so much
Never apologize for having these tough talks. It's always one of the best parts of your videos, in my opinion. It's important not to shy away from these things, especially since you put so much respect and work into these portions. I'm happy to see you're comfortable enough to be able to share these parts with us ❤️
You introduced me to larp- and i went to my first one this past weekend. I am so happy that i got to enter the community when its become more uplifting to women. I myself am transmasc, but ive had such a wonderful experience in the space. Keep going and keep being your cool self, Momo :)
I tend to avoid commenting as most of the time I feel this just opens me up for a level of vulnerability online I just don't want/have the emotional resilience for. However, my heart broke a little watching this. I started following you after seeing some D&D compilations of your characters and I genuinely adored your aesthetic. I loved the pastels and the pinks and that feminine energy, to me, just made sense. From this I started to get more invested in D&D and play more regularly now and me and some friends are preparing for our first LARP at some point. I want to point out that I'm nearly 40 year old and so are my friends (I'm actually one of the youngest in our little group). Most of us hadn't even heard of D&D (think we just missed the boat) so LARP was completely off our radar. Through people like you and Azerai, you showed us a world that had existed but we just weren't part of. So I want to take this opportunity on this video to just say thank you. I want to go a step further though. I was so moved when you were reflecting on the evolution of the "larpgirl" hashtag and how the sphere of LARP has now evolved. I truly believe that this in large part down to content creators like yourself. I think (and hope) this new generation (of which, hopefully, I also belong) is really creating a world of acceptance and inclusiveness for all. It's opened up a world I want to be a part of but I think it can do much more than that.... I truly think we should be embracing that this is a world to be you; or even to just explore what/who you is. Some of my friends are finding their way in terms of gender. D&D for us has created a microsystem for this. To "try on" roles; feminine, masculine, none binary and fluid that has helped spark questions debate but within a world of acceptance. So thank you Mo Mo and thank you to all who are making THE world and our little nerdy world's a world full of love, compassion, acceptance, freedom and ofcourse PASTELS!!!!
You are amazing, Momo. You went from, "My D&D friends make fun of me," to Being an inspiration for people to explore themselves and their creative potential. Hire on with an agency, and do not let them shut you down.
Oh my gosh!! This is so awesome! I'm only a little over 10 minutes into the video and I'm needing to stop - by I'll return later and complete this video. It's so awesome! Makes me smile really wide. 😀
I no longer identify female, but I am still a feminine person and seeing you be proud of who you are and own your space has helped me be feminine and confident. Thank you for showing me and others that feminine people are just as deserving of confidence and taking charge as others💛
Discovering your videos has not only taught me that you can be feminine in masculine spaces it was also a huge step in realising and unlearning a lot of internalized misogyny. It basically kicked off my whole gender journey (which is far from done, but I'm feeling much better about a lot of things!)! I also got into larp, collaborative storytelling and discovered a whole bunch of mediums, creators, platforms and made so many new friends I would've never met otherwise! So thank you so much for everything you do
I've been holding off watching this video so I could watch it with my mother, as tradition since I first introduced her to your videos. I finally got around to watching it alone, but now I realize my mother needs a video like this more than ever. We recently finished working a full season at our local Renaissance Festival which is a permanent park, so it's kinda big and the area it's in doesn't have the kindest of weather. It was extremely exhausting, but gave us so many good memories and the two of us made so many new friends who are all big ol fantasy nerds. Ever since I first found your channel, I've wanted to do larp because you made it look so fun and normal to be a beautiful fantasy babe. I never even knew there was a divide within the community. Over the years, I have definitely seen the effect you've directly had on so many young women and creative souls. Hell, I once made a comment about how many people I saw wearing the EXACT light blue dress from Holy Clothing that you wore in your Ren Faire video! Every time I mention the inspirational figures that drive me to do what I love, your name always comes up. You've had a huge effect on people all over the world, including myself. Thank you so much for continuing to do what makes YOU happy Mo Mo.
I discovered such a crucial and loveable part of my life because of you! May your pillow always be cool and refreshing, may flowers bloom with each of your steps, and never forget how amazing you are for the path that you helped paved along with the burdens you shouldered! You're strong and will forever deserve the world! Blessed be! 🌾💐🌻
I'm tearing up listening to you talk about larp girls. I've been watching a lot of your videos since YT recommended your Marked videos and it's really pushing me to finally try larp. I have friends in the scene but it's always been intimidating because they're deep in their respective larps (talking arch mages deep) and that's a bit heavy for me right now. I'm so sorry you had poor experiences, but it certainly looks like you've helped getting more of us involved and the more of us there are, the louder (and safer) we hopefully get. I hope this makes sense!
i’ve yet to have a chance to attend my first larp, but i remember looking into larps to try and attend back when i was 16 and had just begun watching you. i turn 20 in three weeks and you stay one my favorite youtubers to rewatch over and over again. you have given me so much comfort and i cannot wait to officially be a larp girl all thanks to you! much much love
You're crying I'm crying, it's just a tear fest around here😭. I'm another girl who got into larp because of your videos and listening to you talk about being a woman in larp has really hit me to the core. I was one of the only girls on the field in my game when I started and now we have so many more (at least 4 which is a lot for a local game) it makes me so happy to see them thriving and enjoying themselves. I can't wait to join them when my health issues settle down. Thank you Momo for bringing me into this community
You're in an incredible position Momo, and to all of us you're doing amazing in that position. Inspiring people and creating a safe space. As someone who has seen the misogyny and many of the gatekeeping in the larp community for years now, finding you truly is a breath of fresh air and you're not alone. So much love to you
This has me fully crying I live in Alberta and LARP is so difficult here so thank you for bringing me on your experiences it’s slowly giving confidence to go to one
I’ve had a similar issue with D&D living a very rural, conservative part of BC (yes it exists), it’s something I’ve always wanted to do yet not known anybody I could do it with and hesitant about joining an online group. There are great things about were we live, but also some really sucky ones.
You are a bright wonderful spot of music, creativity and love on TH-cam and other platforms. Thank you for sharing your joy (and your pain). You are always inspiring!
I just want to say thank you so, so, *so* much for the content you make... I can't imagine how upsetting those situations were... and even then those communities, I have no words. I can only show my support. Your content makes me so happy and encourages me to be creative, continue socializing and thriving.
I know that Mo Mo O’Brian will probably never see this but, I just want her to know that she has made quite the difference in my life. Her videos played a major role in my recovery from depression, and introduced me to LARPing which I love. So yeah… I’ve never met her, and she has still helped me, that’s powerful.
Hi Momo, you are the main reason that I decided to research UK larps to try and larp myself! I never thought I'd be interested but your videos, especially the pirate and fantasy larp vids, made me investigate. Now I'm so glad I did because I've found an amazing online community for the festival larp I want to go to, and me and my best friend will be larping for the first time in June 🥺 I hope you continue to have more positive larp experiences in the future because you deserve it 💚
Hey! This is my first time seeing one of your videos and this was so wholesome. As an older women who started LARPing 5ish years ago it is wonderful to me to see how more women have come into this wonderful hobby and craved out a piece that is theirs. I'm was so heartbroken to hear about your pain, but so happy to hear you are healing. You are a wonderful inspiration!
Im only watching this video now but I remember absolutely loving your larp/renne content. It made me want to rp more and got me interested in renne faires! I aspire to be able to cosplay and be able to play a character like that, improv is soso hard
You're easily one of my favorite youtubers because apart from the unique and quality content I think you are really brave. I don't know if you feel brave but you do brave things and it inspires me to do the same. I'm glad you're now realizing the impact your videos have, some of them I've rewatched many times and they always lift my mood, fuel my dreams and give me courage to act on them. Also thank you for showing the 'disproportionately emotional' parts of your videos, they help the most!
I'm happy to see Goat LARP coming back for a second run. I was BRAND NEW to LARP when the first event ran and even though it was nearby I felt weird about not getting it and chose not to go. Its good to see that it was a pretty relaxing and interesting time! Glad to see that you feel comfortable enough to get these old projects done again.
you’re truly what got me into the whole fantasy experience and now i’m going to the renaissance fair tomorrow with a home made costume! i appreciate you a lot
The local Ren Fair is the one thing i look forward to during the year, i take a week of vacation to enjoy a weekend in my wonderful wizard outfit, you've inspired so many people to get out and enjoy life with your amazing personality and i thank you for bringing this joy to so many peoples hearts
I just wanted to let you know that I started watching your videos in 2018 ever since then I’ve been really into Larp and going to ren faiers in full costume and you genuinely helped me so much with finding groups of people that had similar interests in me and kind of showing me that there was a whole other group of people that liked the kind of things I liked. I don’t think I can thank you enough for helping me through dark times and making me want to stay around to be able to experience things that I’ve never experienced. You are an amazing person and have helped so many people. Thank you so much I hope to one day inspire as many people as you have!
I never really comment on videos. But just wanted to say that I love your content. I watch quite a lot of youtube and you're always the one who I can most relate to. Hope you're going to keep being able to do great stuff, whatever that is for you. (And as a Dutch person, I believe the lady who was explaining about the goats was Dutch, always fun to hear) EDIT: I myself am a Computer Science student, which is also very male dominated. I see some change, but we're not there yet either. Glad it's also improving in the LARP world.
you're so inspiring Momo, I'm so proud of you for helping to carve out this safe and cherished space! I really appreciate you sharing your adventures and being so sincere and honest. you introduced me to larp and although I haven't been able to attend one yet I still hold the hopes of doing so someday! getting to tag along on your adventures absolutely makes my day, thank you for being you
This Larp is so wonderful and charming! This feels like a true adult game of make believe! Just so fun and chill! I am happy you still take a moment to be serious though and I'm really glad you were able to heal. Your editing and creation skills are as always fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing with us!
I'm so glad to see you back in LARPing. I've missed this kind of content from you, and I'm glad to see you returning to the scene. I might not be a girl, but it was you who introduced me to the scene. I want to thank you so much. I want to thank you for bringing the content to me, because I don't have the ability to attend a larp right now. Thank you so so so much for everything.
Momo you opened me up to DND and LARP, you showed me how beautiful it can be and how you can meet awesome people and make pretty things and be creative and have fun! I adore you Momo, I hope you can enjoy LARP again!
Thank you for sharing this with us! So many highlights. Huge fan of the yodeling to start it off, I love all the goat vibes, it's always a joy to see Kaza, and I think the weather deserves a shoutout for looking absolutely perfect.
Thank you!!! Yes! How empowering it is to authentically enjoy oneself within such groups despite another projecting their insecurities. Thank you for forging the path for so many, including myself! There are so many wonderful and creative adventures before us!!!
Okay, so, I don't really comment on videos, like ever, but I just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to LARP. I only started larping last year after finding an event near me. I can't even tell you how much your videos have meant to me over the years, a lot of them are my comfort videos tbh, and how much of an inspiration you are to me. Like, I have just found a pirate crew to join next month and I will play a character with the same concept as your pirate character - a cute runaway bride. And as someone, who is dealing with trauma herself, I wish you all the best on your healing journey. Just, thank you, for all the adventures I was able to go on through the magic of your videos! Thank you!
I've never done larp myself, but you are such an inspiration Momo! I love your style and how you have learned to love your beautiful self. I wish you didn't have to go through the bad times in what should be a fun space, but you are so amazing to keep sharing the good parts with us! Thank you! Keep rocking
You are by far my favourite creator. Your videos aren't just entertainment, they're beautiful experiences that I watch with a big fat grin on my face from beginning to end. Thank you Momo
you're not a buzzkill at all, Momo - Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I'm so happy for you that you feel safe enough again to have booked a larp again, and I wish you all the best! It's so important to hear this, and to also see how far you've come.
People not talking about sexism and feminism is what leads others to believe that it’s gone/unnecessary. That section was necessary and I’m glad MoMo is bringing light to the fact that not only does sexism still exist, but the fact that femininity deserves a part in nerdy spaces. Thank you for showing and emphasizing both the good and the bad, and thank you for showing us that the world doesn’t have to be bleak and sad. This video meant a lot to me to see. I’ve had bad experiences with a (sort of) larp that really discouraged me and it’s always nice to see such positive sides of it. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
You did so much for LARP girls!!! You showed me its okay to be whoever you want to be and now I am going to my first festival in costume. Scared shitless but doing it!
Mo Mo, like the Larpgirl section of the video, I too was inspired to do LARP. I just want to say thank you for intriguing me into something I now adore! I hope your days are lovely and amazing and again Thank You for Introducing Larp to me!
Hey Momo... I am proud to say that I am getting stuff ready for my first larp in a few months. And it's thanks to you that I finally got a chance to see that I too can do larp. So thank you so so much
You are an amazing human, I love all your videos and everything you do. Your outfits in LARP and just in life are beautiful, so I hate if anyones ever made you feel bad about them. You’re amazing and you’ve gotten me into dressing more ‘feminine’ and girly and feeling comfortable doing so. So thank you for being you! ♥️
You were my first connection to Larp, and I can´t help but happy cry rn. Because of the changes that are taking place in this community, and because you´re feeling well enough about it to go to larps again. I can´t wait to follow the next chapters of your story. Thank you Momo
I discoverd larp a long time ago because of you, and being a young child and seeing someone like you go on these adventures inspired me beyond words. I've always sturggled with my mental health and less than a week ago I was diagnosed with Autism and BPD at the age of 23. But one of the things that has kept me pushing forwards is that one day I'll be able to go to events like this. And it has been a really strong driving force for me. And I did it, I'm gonna go attend a small larping event with my friends on July. And I'm so hyped that I get to create a character and make a costume and everything. So I just wanna say thanks, because you've truly inspired me to persue my dreams and passions and thanks, really. On another note, thanks for sharing about your experience, I can't begin to understand how difficult it must have been. But it's really encouraging to see how you're doing things at your own pace and still challenging yourself. I wish you the best of luck in your new experiences, and again, thanks for sharing. ^^
Thank you for being honest and sharing your heart 💜 You doing so makes room for so many others to share there hearts. You are a true delight and joy!!! I look forward to your experiencing full healing and being able to return to larpen away that makes you comfortable.
I can't begin to explain how much comfort it brings me to see you shine a light onto an experience that is more universal than we think. I started larp 3 years ago - also because you inspired me to start - but since my first larp experience I haven't pursued it further, the biggest reason being things you talked about in this video. Thank you for everything that you do to improve this community and share your experiences so candidly, I can tell how hard you've worked from start to finish! So thank you, from the bottom of my nerdy lil feminine heart! (Or something.)
When I found you I was in quarentine. Your channel gave me so much joy and excitement. I started larping in my country, Spain, last year motivated because of you. I'm so thankful. Your videos click something inside of me.
Hey, I just wanted to say that, first of all, I am female and because of your videos I want to start LARPing. I’ve literally watched your LARP videos (especially the pirate one) hundreds of times and it makes me feel excited to start LARPing. I haven’t gotten the chance to go yet, but I plan on doing it at some point in my life. Thank you for being open about all of this and showing that it is ok for females to be nerdy and join in these games too 💕
I had to return to this video to finally comment. I found you shortly after I attended my first LARP many years ago and you were such an inspiration that I started pushing my theatre degree to its edges and haven't stopped trying to find its full extent. When I first started LARPing, I was met with a similar experience as yourself on top of being constantly warned of which events I should never attend due to participants taking advantage of others and other nefarious conspiracies. I found the leaders in this scene from coast to coast are often so set in their ways and determined to keep the game feeling the same way it did when they first started, they forget to factor in others hoping to make their own life-long experiences. So I set out to create my own LARPs with a team of my closest friends and we've worked together to create some of the most inclusive LARPs that create a safe space to build up and pay respect to anything and everything our players put forward. It has been rough (especially with so many cancellations the past few years), but it has also been so incredibly fulfilling. Thank you for giving myself and so many others a passion in life. I hope to one day be able to thank you in person, but I am sadly, yet happily, attending the same LARP as yourself in a few months and wish you a grand experience.
I remember watching you a lot when I was younger but then I lost your channel and couldn't find it for the longest time until I found your Tik Tok at first I didn't even realize it was you who I found until I went to your TH-cam and saw videos I had recognized staying up late watching over and over again it just seemed so cool to me how you were able to do these things I haven't Larped because I have social anxiety and dont even know where to start but I would really love to one day! through learning about Larp from your channel it got me to start looking into other things such as cosplaying and dungeons & dragons those two things have been such big parts of my life ever since I want to say more but I'm kind of bad with words so I'm just going to end this by saying thank you
OMG!!!! I'M SO FLIPPIN EXCITED FOR YOUR NEXT LARP VIDEO!!!!! I've watched you for about a year now and I always await your uploads with excitement!! You've helped me get into LARP and makeup and so many other things, I owe you everything!! We love you SO SO much, and we're so proud of you for being able to get back into larping!!
I'm a larper from Europe. I saw people advertising Goat Larp on Facebook, but I thought it was just a big joke and would never happen. Because of you I know now that it actually did, and I could even share a video with my larper friends around here that shows how much of an awesome and lovely experience it was! Secondly, as someone who has been learning more and more through second-hand experience and conversations in recent years what it feels like to be a woman in our society in general and in larping in particular - I really appreciate you leaving in the "buzz kill"-part to share some of your struggles with us, to which I believe a lot of people can relate. I think it is a very valuable part of this video. Thank you for that.
I always feel at home watching Momo's videos. I usually search for metaphors sbd deeper meanings in everything I do. So those "emotional moments" in the videos just hit home
Hello, Melody Drama here, sweeping into this comment thread with the grace of a sickly swan of shadows! GOAT LARP was a happening of many sighs, many woes, many cries, many goats, and it was lovely sharing with you the privilege of extending various misfortunes to the players. I would like to express the most over-the-top appreciation for the flattering mention in this fantastic documentation of a very strange and wondrous day.
Momo I'm going to my first larp in 3 weeks because of you! Lockdown had me questioning my identity, I've identified as a transwoman for 9 years now but never leant into femininity because of my build. But in 2020 I found a the Profound Decisions Empire community and was so welcomed by them all. Shortly after I joined a House in the nation of Dawn and they've become my closest and most beloved friends. I was nervous to build my first ever larp character because I wanted to be feminine but I couldn't bring myself to do it, I felt ugly and I hesitated. But these friends that I found helped me through it and now my costume is ready! And I've never felt beautiful or comfortable or at ease wearing feminine attire but thanks to this community I do! I'm going to my first ever larp after 2 years of waiting, with my closest friends, for the first time ever feeling confident in my body because YOU inspired me to start. I'm proud to be a Larp Girl
I am so happy to see you heal and flourish- I've been a fan for some time, and always love your videos or the content you produced. I'm disabled physically, so getting to do LARP is difficult and almost inaccessible for me. Your videos gave me a wonderful taste of different adventures that were possible. It hurt so deeply to see you knocked down just for doing something you love by the very community you gave so much to. I know that feeling keenly. Seeing your videos and seeing this made me cry, too. You have such a beautiful soul and outlook on the world, and your own journey has been just as cathartic to witness. Keep on going, Momo. You rock.
This larp seems so amazing. Also goats are just adorable! You are not a buzzkill. I was also one of those girls who you inspired me. You, Kaza, and Az were the first 3 larpers I watched on youtube and it made me wanna try LARP and DND and other fantasy stuff out. I still wanna try LARP out but I have met amazing people at my local Pirate Fest and I have been to Ren Fest twice. I want to thank you for being the person you are at making these amazing videos even if its simple, laid back and different than you did back then. Thank you for being an inspirational video. You dont deserve to get hate, you didn't do anything wrong. And if you feel like you need to take a break, go for it. You deserve to have time for yourself as well.
Momo your amazing!!!! I had no idea what larp was when I saw your videos but now I can't stop thinking about it. I started to make my own costumes and I made my first cape because of you!!! Your amazing and you let girls see that everything is okay. You can do what ever you want as a girl!!! Thank you for the amazing videos and I can't wait too see more, because I missed your larp videos. Your so freaking cute and I love your costume and character you make!!!!! I hope that I can meet you one day to tell you how amazing you are but that would be hard because I live in the Netherlands 😅 But he maybe I see you at a larp or at a renaissance fairs, you never know😂😂 but just know that the people here love you and love the videos that you make!! take care of yourself!!!!!!!!!! much love Kyara
I liked the video already. I didn't see it yet! I know it's gonna be great! MoMo never disappoints! love, love, love *_Edit:_* Yep, I was right! I don't know how you do it every time: It's just perfect, the feels are real. It didn't surprised at all, you touched and changed lives. I can't explain it, you're a very special soul. I'm so happy I found the channel! Thank you! And thank you for being you, a deep bow! (also your voice and way of speaking is almost therapeutic to me)
This seems like such a wonderful event, a lovely balance of relaxation, humour and of course goats! This hobby is one of my favourites, mostly because it's an outlet for me to perform and improvise with my favourite people and I'm so lucky to have found a very close group of friends via this and other roleplay hobbies like dnd. I hope you continue to find joy and good memories in your future adventures, and thank you once again for helping to start me off on my quests all those years ago :)
Having experienced so much you have with larp, good lord I have felt every word you let out. I'm glad so much of the community is now expanding and becoming more welcoming. I can only have more hope it continues to grow, and that the growth crushes all the distastful comments and bullshit we get subjected to sometimes. Love your content and videos, it inspired me to be more colorful in my costuming
finding your channel was a huge turn for me, for the better - LARP seemed so intimidating and scary at first, but seeing your videos and seeing this video of you getting back into it is so so so amazing, and your serious conversations are immensely touching. As a queer person, I was worried about not ever finding a place at any LARP, but you and your community and your friends and their communities have been a huge encouragement in that! Honestly, I love each of your characters and designs, keep on keepin' on! :>
I've been wanting to dip into the LARP world for a while, but they all seemed to be far away. I live in Connecticut. I love goats. This is PERFECT!! Thank you Momo for sharing your amazing adventures with us 🥰
Thank you for making this video and being so open about your experiences! I have followed you for a long time now and you have been a real inspiration to me. I am a man and grew up as into LARP from like six years old and it truly hurts to know that women are not often allowed into the LARP community nearly as easily. The emotional part of the video hit me hard as someone who organizes LARPs for children and youth with the aim of making them safe for everyone, welcoming and most of all I have tried to break the assumption that the LARP is "only for the boys". When I start to do LARP events ten years ago there were only a couple of girls among the players and maybe three women among the volunteers who play out the roles of the NPCs, monsters and creatures to make the children's / youth's LARP events even possible. Now ten years later we have more and more girls attending as players to take on the adventure (with those who grow too old to be players often joining the volunteers to continue with the LARP itself) and there are more women willing to come help to organize the event as volunteers as well. Its great to see girls comfortable larping as fairies, elves, knights, warriors and as whatever they wish to play. Our goal is to make an open space for everyone and an event where you can be whoever you want to be. Thank you for being inspiration to us all. Its amazing to see more women among the volunteers since they encourage the girls to keep up with the hobby and they make the LARP more approachable to new comers. We have a healthy cycle that will bring in more people and make it more safe, acceptable and comfortable for all, but it took a long time to get there. Thank you for helping me make our LARP events better just by being an inspiration! Ps. After your pirate LARP video we wrote in pirates for our next larp. The children sunk their ship at the lake and it was great (and safe, though we did have to dive the boat back up but that was planned) Pss. The goat larp is the best thing I have seen.
I’ve been watching you for about 5 years now and I’m so glad that you had this healing experience. Such an interesting idea from the goat larp team to have the bonfire! You have inspired me to take up D&D and hopefully I’ll be able to go to a larp in my area some day. In the meantime, keep doing what YOU enjoy and not what you think other people THINK you have to enjoy. Your honestly brings so much joy to this world and your excitement lights up so many of our days, I am sure. So much love in this community that you have created
You probably won’t see this but I thank you so much for what you do! A friend and I bonded over your content and before the pandemic we were gearing up to join our local larp scene. Now we’re several states away but I’ll never forget the hours upon hours of prepping characters together and talking about future larps.
Hi! I just wanna say that I absolutely LOVE your videos they bring SO much comfort to me. As someone who struggles with depression and severe anxiety I think you are incredibly inspiring and wonderful! And I just think it’s so cool seeing that there are places you can go to kind of escape reality, so thank you for showing us that!!!
i had been watching you since i was fifteen and you were and are so inspiring to me and my friends! we all started larping because of you. i can’t wait to see what you do in the future and i’m so glad you feel safe enough again!! welcome back :D
I am so happy to see this and hear your experiences. To hear of what made you feel bad and how you overcame it a bit. And I mean, goats! Who doesn't like them? You are such a great person and the realness in-between these videos is so great. You are amazing! Go on! :D
Not me crying with you over larpgirls, while never been to a larp or intending to. But women supporting women and standing their ground in a community that men somehow think that they own... I love it ❤
I cried too. It was a good cry.
Please tell me they didn't cook up all the goats on the big bonfire ?
@@calliemyersbuchanan6458 That sounds like a dream✨
@@calliemyersbuchanan6458 Please start a group because I'd be all over this! I have all the same worries/fears you've described, so I can totally relate to both this comment and the one above it!
@@calliemyersbuchanan6458 You two sound so similar to me. I also have ADHD and would love to have a chill larping experience! Imagine if we all met and larped with the people in the replies!
@@dancingheart6224 where are you people at? I'd love to join!
Also Momo, you have always helped me feel POWERFUL in pastels. I know this probably doesn’t mean much but pastels, and light traditionally feminine colors do not make us weak. They are beautiful and symbolize purity of heart and spirit. And I hope you know how much you have helped sooo many people
Hell yeah, rock your aesthetic.
That's awesome!!
This women has such a special part of my heart because of the positivity and love and openness she shared with the world. Every word she has spoken has inspired me to be myself and have my own interests and feel myself. Love this girl and I love her channel and I’m so happy I’ve found her videos.
🥺😭 thank you
When I was very young, I loved to play with my barbies.
And thank you Kaz and Az, for being huge inspirations as well
This makes me happy. I'm so happy for you.
I’m right there with you!!! Thank you for being you! I’m so thankful MoMo’s content can inspire, empower, and connect us!
"would this be fun if no one was in character"
That's awesome!
This event was my first larp event ever, and I do not regret it whatsoever. Such a fun and pure experience ❤️
I no longer identify female, but I am still a feminine person and seeing you be proud of who you are and own your space has helped me be feminine and confident. Thank you for showing me and others that feminine people are just as deserving of confidence and taking charge as others💛
So you’re some sort of femme. Cool!
Whoa…this comment healed my spirit in 20 different ways. Thank you.
I discovered such a crucial and loveable part of my life because of you! May your pillow always be cool and refreshing, may flowers bloom with each of your steps, and never forget how amazing you are for the path that you helped paved along with the burdens you shouldered! You're strong and will forever deserve the world! Blessed be! 🌾💐🌻
😂 may your pillow always be cool and refreshing. Bless you and thank you.
Same! I've wanted to go to one for years, but I wasn't ever able to fine one that was accessible enough
…🥺 thank you
I just want to say thank you so, so, *so* much for the content you make... I can't imagine how upsetting those situations were... and even then those communities, I have no words. I can only show my support. Your content makes me so happy and encourages me to be creative, continue socializing and thriving.
Thank you for still doing your thing, Mo, and thank you for prioritizing your enjoyment and well-being. You continue to be a great inspiration.
Thank you Momo for leading the way and showing girls/women that there is room for everyone in the LARP space!
We love you Mo, all the kind gentle magic you put out for the world to enjoy makes my days a bit brighter 💫
24:00 im 27 old male, who like LARP and i cry here... MOMO CEEP IT GOING!
Home made?! Amazing! You’ll look wonderful. Have fun!
sobbing in a very positive way. i feel like your influence is gonna make future experiences so much better for so many people
The local Ren Fair is the one thing i look forward to during the year, i take a week of vacation to enjoy a weekend in my wonderful wizard outfit, you've inspired so many people to get out and enjoy life with your amazing personality and i thank you for bringing this joy to so many peoples hearts
(And as a Dutch person, I believe the lady who was explaining about the goats was Dutch, always fun to hear)
EDIT: I myself am a Computer Science student, which is also very male dominated.
Suddenly excited to live in Connecticut. I hope they bring it back soon.😭
Same! I’m definitely gonna check it out as soon as possible!
I feel like this channel is such a safe space for women, or anyone, in LARP. Thank you 🙏❤️
I remember watching you a lot when I was younger but then I lost your channel and couldn't find it for the longest time until I found your Tik Tok at first I didn't even realize it was you who I found until I went to your TH-cam and saw videos I had recognized staying up late watching over and over again it just seemed so cool to me how you were able to do these things
I haven't Larped because I have social anxiety and dont even know where to start but I would really love to one day! through learning about Larp from your channel it got me to start looking into other things such as cosplaying and dungeons & dragons those two things have been such big parts of my life ever since
I want to say more but I'm kind of bad with words so I'm just going to end this by saying thank you
didn't expect to cry at goat larp video
Really happy to see you on TH-cam again hope you are doing better at your own pace, thanks for all the smiles and down to earth feelings you bring
You've made such a huge contribution to the Larp community in so many ways. Forever and always, thank you.
How you gonna be making me cry at 9 am Nina!
@@MoMoOBrien as long as they are tears of Joy : D
I hope that I can meet you one day to tell you how amazing you are but that would be hard because I live in the Netherlands 😅 But he maybe I see you at a larp or at a renaissance fairs, you never know😂😂 but just know that the people here love you and love the videos that you make!! take care of yourself!!!!!!!!!! much love Kyara
this was so lovely! I'm glad you are making these videos
I liked the video already. I didn't see it yet! I know it's gonna be great! MoMo never disappoints! love, love, love
*_Edit:_* Yep, I was right!
Ahhh didn't think I was gonna cry at this video but here come the tears ❤
Having experienced so much you have with larp, good lord I have felt every word you let out. I'm glad so much of the community is now expanding and becoming more welcoming.
I can only have more hope it continues to grow, and that the growth crushes all the distastful comments and bullshit we get subjected to sometimes. Love your content and videos, it inspired me to be more colorful in my costuming
you were one of the creators that really helped draw me into larp and find my space, so i'm really glad you've found a method to decompress and heal.
finding your channel was a huge turn for me, for the better - LARP seemed so intimidating and scary at first, but seeing your videos and seeing this video of you getting back into it is so so so amazing, and your serious conversations are immensely touching.
The children sunk their ship at the lake and it was great (and safe, though we did have to dive the boat back up but that was planned)
Pss.
Go on! :D
