      calm down this setup easily costs over 25-30 THOUSAND dollars the real corals for this tank alone would end up costing $20k just to fill the tank up the way it is with the ones he has in the fake deco not counting the lightening needed for that tank and all the stuff needed to grow corals it would take over a half a decade to achieve this look with real corals

      @@MrDon967 To be fair though, corals grow. So unless you must have instant day 1 gratification you could possibly do it for a lot less. And if you go with soft corals you can get much quicker growth, get some movement (other than fish) in the tank, and not have to have as stringent water parameters
      That said, for a tank that size I would definitely want to hire a maintenance company to check everything and deal with problems. Hard enough deal with a 300g tank, couldn't imagine having one 10x that size. Bigger tank is more stable, but something could go wrong and the tank will try to still keep stable at that "wrong" parameter(s)

    • @MrDon967
      @MrDon967 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mike__B ya i've mentioned that in another comment thread already.
      regardless a 1in frag in that tank will get lost and it'll take years to grow to the size the fake corals are in the tank if he got the exact same corals as the fake ones.
      lighting for that will cost more then the tank itself and so will dosing and filtration.
      a bigger tank is stable and all he has to do with a fowlr tank is water top off and water change. which is a totally different thing then a reef tank where stability is key the fish won't die with a few missed top offs and dirtier parameters the corals will

    Bruh if u can get a tank that large u most probably can invest in some lights and corals

    • @MrDon967
      @MrDon967 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      it isn't about investment of money it's about keeping the corals ALIVE which isn't easy maybe on your avg 20 gallon it's easy but not everyone can put in the work it requires to keep corals alive especially if you want to focus on the fish itself
      it would be nice if a company made lifelike corals that have different textures etc i would buy it no doubt

    • @xbluewolfy1741
      @xbluewolfy1741 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@MrDon967 Actually it's easier to keep corals alive in larger tanks as you have more water surface which entails you can control it better, a small aquarium can change parameters within an hour and all your corals would be dead.

    • @MrDon967
      @MrDon967 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@xbluewolfy1741 theres a difference between the average "large" tank and these enormous tanks. the average "large" tank is 100+ gallons to 300 gallons
      that is considered LARGE. anything that crosses 300-500+ isn't average those are very far in between. especially in the thousands of gallons range.
      so no your point doesn't true. a 10-5g,20g those are considered small 40 breeder thats small 90 gallon 75g those a re medium and 100g+ are large.
      obviously keeping corals at 5g compared to 75g its easier in the 75g to maintain water chemistry.
      HOWEVER WHAT CONSUMER LEVEL LIGHT do you know that works above 500g tanks?
      most lights work in 1 ft tall tanks at most a 3000g tank needs lights that work on 10ft tall tank atleast those are your average lights your radions/ t5s etc won't reach those depths even with focused 90 degree lenses. further more the lights needed would be in the 20s if using standard consumer lights. if you look at any aquarium gallaries that have 30k gallons displays with real corals theres a few clips on youtube seafriendlyreef has a recent video of such a place those lights they are standard lights noone can just go and order those.
