Chas, are you done moving?! I see a new background and all your books restored to their places 😁 Thanks for the review. I haven’t tried any flintlock fantasy yet, but maybe someday!
Hey there! 😁 Yes I’m done moving thank goodness. My books were one of the first things to go back up so that I could actually move in my room lol. I appreciate you. Mistborn Era 2 was actually my first flintlock fantasy, and an extremely positive one at that. This one was fun too. I hope you enjoy whatever you try in that subgenre, my friend. 😊
I didn’t know anything about this one but it does sound interesting. I’ve honestly read very little of this variety of setting too, but I did enjoy Desert of Souls by Howard Andrew Jones somewhat recently.
Not all of the magic wielded by humans in the Gunmetal saga comes from jinn. Other sources, like gods and angels, can provide men with magic in the story, too.
Thanks Josh! I was very tired when I filmed this, yes. It was right after the move and I was trying to push through lol. I appreciate your concern my friend.
Chas I’ve heard a lot of this book I’ve heard (and this may be a potential trigger warning for some, idk) that there’s a notably graphic scene in it… Before I decide if I read it one way or the other could you disclose a bit more what one should be bracing for as far as content in that scene goes?
Hi! Yes of course. Spoiler warning for anyone else reading this. . . . . The only scene I can think of is one in which a demonic entity disguises itself to look like the deceased daughter of one of the main characters, and then forces itself (herself) on him sexually. So it would appear that incest is taking place, even though it’s clear that it’s not actually his daughter. Although it is a SA on the demon’s part, so that is equally bad. I hope that helps?
@@BookishChas that does make sense. I don’t mind certain lines being crossed in grimdark (as that’s part and parcel with the genre) but I generally try to have an idea of content warning before reading. Thank you sir. 🫡
Very glad you enjoyed it, makes me feel good about backing the kickstarter. Can’t wait to read it!
Oh yeah I forgot about the Kickstarter for this one. It deserves the love.

I've had my eye on this one ever since I heard about it... one of these days I need to just read it 😅
Hahah yes! Yes you do Kris. I’m waiting hehe.
Woohoo!!! Great review 🥳
If you want to, I’m reading book 2 in August and I’d love to continue the conversation with you 😝
Thank you Fine! Unfortunately I already have plans in August, but I will continue the series at some point. 😁

Oh cool! I’ll have to look into that one. Thanks Liam! I hope you enjoy this one if you read it. 😊

Ok gotcha. Thanks!
Cool setting! You sound tired - hope you're doing okay, my friend!

@iSamwise you are most welcome! I hope you enjoy it if you read it, and I’m glad I could help.
A book that has metal vibes?! 👀 oooh lala…
Yeah it definitely does. It’s a fun one.
