Getting the right screwdrivers is as you said a bit of a game changer, you just need to get some that are JIS (Japanese industry standard) and don't need to buy the specific Tamiya set, I think mine were about £15 from amazon, generally you just need sizes 1 and 2 for Tamiya kits.
That is true
I bought some “JIS” ones on Amazon and, despite glowing reviews, were terrible. Bought the Tamiya ones for a few quid more and was reminded of the old adage, “buy cheap, buy twice” 😂
Such a nice build the super hotshot.
Enjoy the day guys
Lovely buggy but l do like to see the wing painted 😉
Race buggies go faster if you don't paint the wing :D
Exactly
@@Droidy77 This ain't a race buggy my friend 😉
@@mad-beerc3818 it's a *super* race buggy 😄
@@Droidy77 Haha Super Hot! Tweaked they could be very good in their day! I raced a Boomerang back in the 80s to good effect its great to see the Boomerang rere again!
This we be a goodin. Thanks for more vintage content lads!
Loads of content coming your way
You boys have done a great job of that Super Hot Shot, a superb classic Tamiya kit. Nice!!
Hope it survives on the track
That is just so wow! Kudos guys! Very nice!
Hi, nice build. The bumper (C1) looks upside down, but it may be my vision and/or a decision on your side 😇. Good luck for the race 🤞
You are right, apparently it’s much faster with an upside down bumper😂👍
Buggy’s looking great 👍🏻 Good luck both of you at the weekend 🤞🏻
Cheers mate
Have a great race day guys love the videos
Cheers Robert
Nice build. As I said before, looking forward to seeing it race. Enjoying the content guys. You two are a bit of a married couple.
Great build vid! -sweet man-cave/studio btw! & spot on shout out for JC Racing wheels;
I'm after their Egress set so i can run the old boy on carpet & still look the part with modern tyres! :)
Nice build Mark and like the colours Carl.
When it comes to the soldering do you use lead free solder ?
Look forward to seeing it rip round the circuit when you race it.
Cheers buddy
Not sure about solder
Nice build 👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers Daniel
Tamiya uses “JIS” (Japanese industry Standard) screws. So any JIS screwdriver will work.
So cool!!!!!!! Will you be testing Rlaarlo's new product? I heard there might be news on September 15th.
I haven’t watched this yet… but i reckon i can already say “why isn’t this video longer?” I live your videos guys, and I’m thinking about getting into racing. As “geeks” I think I speak for most of us but these 10 minute ish vids could be longer!!!! (Just sayin! 😉)
Cheers buddy
10-15 minute videos work for me, I would rather longer footage put into part 1+2 some TH-cam videos especially RC ones can drag on too long and it's easy to loose interest and try to skip to the actual point of the video. I think you guys have it spot on. Tea break viewing. Would have liked to have seen more about the electrics set up as I'm sure many of us more senior racers would love to know what brushless set ups would work well in the rere versions of the cars that we really wanted in our youth. Especially when it comes to lipos that go well in these buggies. That may inspire people to get an 80s Tamiya buggy and run a few Plastic Fantastic races at meets
Good classic tamiya's are tamiya's, it's like they involved from the old metal erector set cars
Gonna be a fun drive
I see that soldering needs some help from a Hakko FX888D spend the 80 to 100 quid for sure you won't regret it.
Good to know
Still don’t know what mark is racing? 😊
Guy should watch mine with a 3800 KV motor running.
How did the gears hold up
As a side note, do you find tamiya are tight when it comes to the ceramic grease😂
There was this computer game in the 1980s called Wonder Boy in Monster Land where you could upgrade your equipment and some of the most expensive was Ceramic Boots. Maybe Tamiya make ceramic grease out of the same stuff??? I've got a whole baggie full of AW grease pots (I think that's why universal joints are so expensive) for diffs, but I only ever got one tube of ceramic grease!
