What i like about this is that it clearly has a lot lf effort put into it. All the animations, so many different variations, multiple phases, that whole grounded section that only gets like 20 seconds. Somone clearly poured dozens of hours into this. And yet the little differences call into sharp relief how good team cherry are at designing the original game. I can see the attacks they wouldn't include, the telegraphs they probably would have emphasized more, and the little design nuggets that they would have smoothed over. This is definitely a modded boss, and its quality only makes that more apparent

This almost already exists. In Godhome, there's an Ascended fight that has the boss in phase 3 from the start and takes place on *moving platforms* on top of dealing the double damage. It's kinda stupid so I just pretend it doesn't exist, I much prefer the normal fight for its sense of scale and pacing anyway. It just feels and looks far cooler than whatever mess godhome has going on.

Because it's a hard, hard boss! Victories like this make it look easy, but truth is for a lot of this fight if you aren't handling it exactly right things spiral very quickly out of control. The fight can be mastered to consistency, but it's going to take some time and a deeper understanding of its AI than most HK bosses ask for.
to be real with you most of the mods bosses were ether re-skin on steroids difficulty or something though the pale fanmade DLC is indeed awesome. to excuses on that. i really also want some mods to just bring some pre-alpha removed content, despite i was not there
I Didn't like the mod it doesn't feel like a part of hollow knight, the style , the design, the animation, the gameplay it's not epic like pale court it feels like it was all the time part of the game and we revealed it
This actually emulates the art style of HK very closely. It even takes a lot of cues from HK's music and leitmotifs (very reminescent of the Radiance theme). Pale court, while clearly well put together, doesn't nail HK's art style. The frame rate and even some aspects of the character designs/ lighting are very obviously off. Pale court is nice, but clearly fan made. The frame rate here is closer to HK's framerate, and the design of the Ancient Aspid fits relatively closely with HK's style (it's still a little too complex, but its lighting, coloring, and movement are very close to other HK bosses). This honestly could work as an alternate boss to the Radiance, though you'd have to simplify Ancient Aspid's design and slow down the attack speed, because there isn't enough time for most players to react quickly enough.
