Truck Camping the MOST REMOTE Town in the Country

- Will and his Subourbon Cowboys buddies Overland the Old West to the most Remote town in the lower 48 states, Jarbidge Nevada. They have to cross a USAF Practice Range before making camp the first night. In the remote town of Jarbidge Nevada, they visit the Red Dog Saloon and the town jail from the early 1900s before hitting the trail and getting very muddy on this Overland adventure. Before making it back to camp on the second night, they also have to deal with a sidewall puncture in the muddy middle of nowhere.

Just went there last friday traveling from Twin Falls south. Good drive. The dirt road is graded and smooth, no rock climbing required if you go in from Rogerson. The town is quaint and ate breakfast at the Red Dog Saloon. Great food. Jason, the owner, was very kind and nice. His wife, Jane, owns the gift shop. Really interesting. If going there at night, it's really dark. No street lights, no reflectors, no illumination. So have good headlights and or driving lights.

That WJ is a beast. I love it out there..so glad you found this video..it's an old one, but I really loved that trip..and although I've been back and filmed Jarbidge a few times since then...that was maybe my favorite experience there.
@@Venture2Roam I had an old '04 WJ, but I killed it on a trail. It taught me a valuable lesson about knowing the limits not only of the vehicle, but also myself, and not getting carried away on a trail! I'm going to be out in that part of the country for SEMA in a couple of months. Maybe we'll cross paths!

Just stumbled across this video. Jarbidge is definitely one of our best kept secrets in northern nevada. We are spoiled in this area. 5 years of living in elko area and my wife will get to experience Jarbidge for the first time. We tried a month ago but the road was snow drifted in and had to turn around. Can't wait for her to see with her own eyes what amazing landscape we have. Keep up the good work.

I wanna head up there this summer to test out my first rtt and fly fish the jarbidge, haven't been there since i was 4 or 5 years old and I'm 22 now so it's been a while
It's so hot in the summer! Really pretty area though. The Jarbidge and Bruneau have been basically deserted each time I've been there. Hope you get some fish!

Excellent video and trip! Already planning for June. Since we're in Boise easy route for us to try!
June will give you way more options on getting there. When we go back, we’ll likely bypass the bombing range in search of more difficult trails...but it was still pretty darn cool.

This was in March
Ummm--was over that road in a Chevy Cavalier w/chains on the front tires 3/25. It was a little slippery but otherwise no problems. I hit the slush in 2nd gear rapped out and splashed right through it. You guys, really? Stopped ya' did it?
Haha. It’s a fair point. I wouldn’t say it stopped us at all. We had been thinking of turning around for some time. We never planned to go as far as we did, but couldn’t resist cutting a little fresh trail in snow. Truth be told, we were thinking about cooking up those steaks back at camp, which was a bit of a drive back. Glad we did turn around because we needed some extra time for Tim to change out his tire on the way back.
