    Professionally fret levelled and setup by yours truly to be the ultimate shredder. Far better playability than direct from factory. Action at the 12th fret on the high E is just under 1mm. There is a hairline paint fracture at the neck heel join which is purely cosmetic and a small mark on the back of the neck which you cannot feel. Happy to post anywhere in Australia. Buyer pays postage and PayPal fees of 3%. Price not negotiable. Lowballers ignored. No Payid scammers.

      What do you think compared to Charvel?

    • @papalytic7767
      @papalytic7767  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ive never played a charvel. But this thing is as good as any ibanez prestige model i have worth as much as $4k

      Bare in mind that ive done a fair bit of work to it. Fret levelling, rolled fingerboard, bevelled fret ends.

    Thanks for the video. I’m wondering about your comment that the 14” fretboard radius is a good in-between for both shredding and chord work. I thought 14” was considered pretty much all the way at the flat end of the spectrum?

      No, not considering keisel do 20"and the majority of ibanez necks are 17". A 12 to 16" compound radius neck is the best all round

    Did you have to sand down the nut slot at all? I have one of these I’ve done a fret dress, setup etc but managed to get the action to 1.5mm bass side and 1.25 but it’s a bit buzzy

      I didn't have the sand the nut base on this one fortunately. I play with little to no relief on the neck and the strings were nice and close to the first fret when i adjusted the trus rod, but not too low. But i also use a very cool fret levelling device from a company called Rectify-master called the katana. Its a fret leveling system that you implement with the strings on. Its better than a plek imho and ive done 100s of guitars with it. For the cost of one plek you can buy the device outright. The greatest tool i ever bought for guitar. Of course you still need to crown and polish, which is a horrible job, but well worth the effort.

      @@papalytic7767with the action being that low could you still achieve big bends as well?

    • @papalytic7767
      @papalytic7767  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah absolutely. The only thing that is problematic it big whammy bar pull ups. With action that low a big pull up will fret the strings out. Which is why Vai has relatively high action, coz he does a lot of pulling up. But its an acceptable trade-off. I like to set-up guitars differently for different purposes. This was set-up specifically for a Lynch feel, ie, heavy strings, low action, high output pups. Others I'll setup with higher action and lighter strings for more expressive vibrato and bending. The problem with fret levelling/dressing the old way with no strings on is that without the tension of the strings on the neck the timber responds differently. You'll never get the lowest possible action with that old approach to fret levelling.
