I 1000% agree regarding The Cruel Prince series, I read it this year and just found it very underwhelming. I’ve only been watching for a few months but I love your content!! Merry Christmas lovely 🎄💕 x
I agree with you about the cruel prince 100%. Can't believe bookmas is over! Thank you for creating all these fun videos for us Emmy, Merry Christmas 🎄✨️
I just love how passionate you are yapping about your fave books, I feel the love, excitement and how passionate you are with your books. Keep yapping girl!!! 🤣💛💛💛💐
I started my reading journey with straight dark romance only. It was like that for sooo long!! I still don’t read contemporary honestly ( it’s not for me ) but as for fantasy?! YOU got me into that this year.
I LOVE The Legacy of Gods series!!! It’s so good! 👏🏽🔥 As always I adore your videos!! Thank you so much for Bookmas 2024- you definitely made my holiday season bright!! I can’t wait to see your vlog on God of Malice!!!!
Totally agree with you on the Cruel prince trilogy, but I absolutely LOVEDDD stolen heir and prisoner's throne, Oak is worlds better than Cardan. Oak and Wren have such a crazy dynamic, highly recommend you give it a shot. Merry Christmas, Emmy !!! 💖💖💖✨✨✨
@emmyrosam Oh, that's weird 😂 I just remember reading it wayyy back in the day - the hype around it was mostly due to the fact that there weren't that many books like this, I think I liked it for what it was but looking back it doesn't really compare to some of the things that are out right now 🤭
So this year my goal was 100 books bc I usually read around 50 a year. Well it's become kinda crazy this year and hockey books definitely started my love of smut and then now into dark romance. My goal is for the end of the year has went crazy. So I'm at 348 today and will get 350 this week. I know I'll tone it down next year but God of Malice and that series was amazing and I'm literally drooling to get book 4 of The book of Azrael. I absolutely adored all of elsie silvers books too and recommend them to my more tame friends. Anyway loved your video and totally agree with your opinions. You're my book kindred for sure.
I've wanted to read 2 authors since I started reading romance. One is Saxon James the other is Rina Kent. James is the author of the worst book in the genre I've read this year. I'd like to read God of Malice next year... I hope Kent doesn't disappoint.
Your opinion on dark romance is quite interesting to me. I like dark romances that focus on the setting being dark. So, a romance within the mafia or with outside forces being toxic/abusive. But I hate series and books in dark romance where the "dark" aspect is the romanticised abuse, assault and toxic relationship itself. Like, how am I supposed to root for the fmc and the mmc love interest if the mmc abuses and assaults her?
I think we must have different definitions of toxic/abusive because my mindset on dark romances is if all parties are into it then who am I to judge. All of the LoG books the females inner dialogues are how they are also just as 'twisted' as the psychopaths and love the same taboo things. I also think you have misunderstood what I have said because I love the darker settings of mafia etc. I love these books because of the way they made me feel while reading and how entertaining it was, not because it was just a dark romance.
@@emmyrosam Oh, I'm sorry if my comment came across as an insult or attack. Your opinion on dark romance is interesting to me because you explained it like that (with the feeling/enjoyment while reading). I thought it is quite a new take and something I haven't seen around a lot, at least regarding dark romance. That didn't come across well in my original comment. I didn't mean to come across as judgy. I totally got what you meant in the video. I have many books that I rated highly simply because of how I felt reading them and not the objective quality of the story and with problematic characters. In my original comment I meant to point out what I personally hate in dark romance. Something that I will not read. I don't know if you read books like that, because I haven't read the dark romances I've seen so far on your channel. If you do and they work for you, go for it. I just wanted to voice my opinion on dark romances and which ones I prefer to read. I apologize if this came across as a personal attack. It wasn't intended as one.
Since I've started reading again in the past couple years, I thiught that im a romance and fantasy girly... but after looking at my shelves... theres hardly any romance, so I'm definitely going to be picking more up in 2025... including some dark romance ☺️ i reallyyyy feel like 2025 is gonna be an amazing reading year❤ especially now that i have KU 🥰🤭🎉

never been so early :) i love your content 🫶
I also started reading dark romance this year and am loving the Legacy of Gods series. Can't wait to read more in 2025
My toxic trait is thinking I can read as fast as Emmy 🤡
Am I the only one that goes into every book blind? I never read blurbs. I see popular/ recommended books and I dive in lol
I think The Cruel Price only hits if you read it as your intro to the faerie-fantasy-with-a-romance-subplot genre 🤣
It was one of the first faerie fantasy books I ever read! It was just underwhelming and a bit boring for me personally 😭
@emmyrosam Oh, that's weird 😂 I just remember reading it wayyy back in the day - the hype around it was mostly due to the fact that there weren't that many books like this, I think
I liked it for what it was but looking back it doesn't really compare to some of the things that are out right now 🤭
larry better convince you to read the addicted series omfg 😭

Also, EMMY please tell me what I should read after I finish ACOTAR 🫤 so nervous whatever I read after is going to be a flop no matter what it is
