i don't know who you are, where you live or what's currently happening in your life right now but i love you. life is good. count your blessings, not your flaws. take care. spread love.
If you love everyone its like you love no one. You took probably the most powerful feeling in the world and watered it down to nothing. Its not exactly toxic positivity, but you're close to that.
Yes. That’s I feel now. I’m 37 and have always held back. I have my boys 11 & 7 and I wish to capture memories of them for myself before they fly away from me.😢

For years, I used to introduce this video to my friends, by telling them it would be the best "picture" to send in space, as a souvenir of what was Humanity. I never expected it would become a souvenir to me.
It's been 9 years. This video is still loved like it was the first time I watched it. Nothing contradicts my emotions like this. I cry every time. The song itself is amazing; I love Explosions in the Sky. The video makes it entirely. My emotions crescendo within me, it makes me long for a time long passed. Can you feel nostalgia for things you've never experienced? This video will forever be my favorite. I wish I could capture it in a music box.
The Welsh word 'hiraeth' supposedly describes a longing for a place you've never been to (I think?), so maybe that's relevant to what you're feeling. At any rate, I don't know if it's nostalgia for me as well, necessarily, but I share your overall experience :) it's been several years since I last watched this music video and I still get teary-eyed. Even though I can't really keep track of the characters and who we're seeing grow old, it just feels like we're being allowed a peek into someone's life, and its beauty is tenfold enhanced by the amazing music that accompany these pictures. What a blessing it is to have found this band, and also to see other comments sharing the same feelings that their music evokes in me :')
The fact that this has no lyrics and has the emotional impact it does is truly amazing. The story, the ending, is so genius. The way the story unfolds, the music unfolds, unbelievable. I couldn’t help but break out in tears at the end.
Give your life all you've got every single day. Live your life for you, it's your life, nobody else's. Make people happy, make them smile, laugh, and attack your dreams. My goal, will always be to die with a smile on my face. Much love to everyone, change the world for the better, life is way to short. Norman Stolba
This song hurt me so bad. Theres a moment i dont even want to hear it. Cz it remind me for my past. I used to listen with her. Until one day all fucked up. I was scared. I even dont know my self. I been depressed for almost 3 years. Until i have the guts to listen to this songs again. And im slowly recover and moved on. Now the inner in me become strong again 💪🏻
My interpretation of this song is the journey of life. In the beginning it’s soft, innocent but after the 4 min mark it goes into adulthood and the video shows it. When we are children the world is soft and innocent but turns into a chaotic mess but we find beauty in it none the less. We find eachother, our people, and through those people we are able navigate through the chaos and give chance to new beginnings for our children. What a fucking beautiful song and video through and through
I was introduced to this video many many years ago on a head full of acid by the end of it i was in tears from the beauty of it. This video is a treasure to me and always will be.
The color grading, the editing, the cinemetography. What a video. It's a treasure to have such great musical talent and production/post-production talent working hand-in-hand.
I don't even need to watch the video to call this song a piece of art. I've heard many of songs by Explosions in the Sky but this one just stands out. Love it.
Who knew a song without any words would be so powerful? Throughout the years I’ve always come back to this song and video. It reminds me that life is short and sweet so cherish every moment because it flashes before your eyes.
I dont hate this teary moments. Its a sign that i haved lived. I dont sit here wondering did i ever love. I have and still do. If i still find myself crying it must still be because i still love you. For now time has slowed down to a crawling pace. I have a lot of free time. Yesterday felt like the end of an age old tale. Now some time to reflect.
I love this song it reminds me of the fireworks on the 4th of July the explosions, the warm summer nights, crickets chirpin and the smell of moisture in the air
This beautiful sad and reminds me of the times I've had and the time my mom tells stories of her childhood and my dad tells of his childhood too, when I watched this for the first time, it opened my mind further to the world.
Amo essa música. Tenho usado ela para meditação ativa, assim como várias músicas do Explosions in the SKY, e o universo que ela abriga é especialmente lindo e amo ir visita-lo ❤
Incredible song and music. Thank you Explosions In The Sky and Peter Simonite. This is the best music video I have ever seen. I didn't just see it, I experienced it. This is amazing. It is a flood of emotions.
Love this video, love this band! Go Texas! I've seen them at least three or four times live over the span of their career, they never get old, and they always play their songs with their full heart. Though, sometimes I want to beat the hell out of the (inevitable) drunk guy talking loud during the soft parts.
To remember the simpler times. To think how so much has changed. How much I haven't. I grew yes. I have changed. I never lowered myself tho. I never changed. I am just more full. Carrying more. Finding more reason to keep this attitude I have carried for years. Sometimes I wish I wasn't this positive and kind. Many times I am glad I was that kid growing up. Despite being alone at home. At school I wasn't. Ari and Fabian glad I was that much of a influence on you.
I watched this video for the first time when I was a sophomore in high school back in 2013. It changed me, and as life went on, life also changed me. I’m just now coming back to this video and song in my mid twenties to experience that change again for the better. Fuck, this song and video are so good
i don't know who you are, where you live or what's currently happening in your life right now but i love you. life is good. count your blessings, not your flaws. take care. spread love.
Truth
There's still hope for us as long as music that makes me feel the way this does exists.
We love you too ela
Ditto ❤
If you love everyone its like you love no one. You took probably the most powerful feeling in the world and watered it down to nothing. Its not exactly toxic positivity, but you're close to that.
Amazing ❤ wish you the same

Profound observation... This video would be amazing to send out to the stars.
It's a souvenir between me and my brother
You don't need words to describe this song... you just need tears
I've got plenty of those
