    «Were you taught anything about the dangers of contamination, cross-contamination of samples when collecting them for purposes of DNA testing?»
    - Not for DNA testing, no (1:24:00 -)
    BOOM.
    Barry Sheck just blew up part of the foundation of prosecutor`s case.

    • @DiahRhiaJones

      According easily manipulated clowns like you, sure. But contamination wouldn't have magically produced OJ's blood at the crime scene unless they had OJ's blood on them from some other means. And there was never any evidence of that. The premise that they mishandled DNA samples doesn't lead to the conclusion "therefore OJ didn't do it" simply because of the fact that OJs DNA (hair and blood) came up time and time again mixed in with the victims. How did his blood get there?

      At first it was Mark Fuhrman, then it was Fung. The police bungled this case from the start...that started with Mark Fuhrman who was the "one" who discovered the bodies of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman also the glove, another thing, Fuhrman had saw Nicole a day before her death.

    • @konquerer
      @konquerer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      sweetadvice3 You appear to have a very limited understanding of criminal law in this country. Since I have a law degree, I will enlighten you. Defendants have absolutely no obligation to prove a single thing unless they are asserting one of a limited number of affirmative defenses in trial. Under most circumstances a defendant's obligation is merely to highlight the deficiencies in the prosecution's case which prevent a finding that the defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Mr. Scheck did a fabulous job here of highlighting those deficiencies.

  • @deeniology101
    @deeniology101 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    The way the trial is flowing is very interesting. The Prosecution which should be on the Offense scoring points against the defendant, is now on the Defense continuously defending the witnesses that they call to the stand. I can't recall any of their witnesses giving any powerful testimony.

      Denise Brown and Ron Shipp were probably the most impactful witnesses they called, but both of them were early on, and all went towards the same purpose: establishing a motive. But you can’t convict someone on motive alone.
      The turning point imo was when the defense basically caused an artificial 1 week delay in the prosecution’s case by trying to get Rosa Lopez, a potential defense witness to testify in the middle of the prosecution case. It sounds insane, which it was, but it was based on her claim of having to leave the country ASAP. They most likely were never going to even call her (and ultimately she never testified in front of the jury) because she had zero credibility. But the whole issue took a week to sort out and established that the defense lawyers had complete control of the courtroom.
      I guess in a sense, you could say Mark Fuhrman was the most “impactful” witness they called… just not in the way you’d think.

    I’ve just discovered the existence of these videos... I was actually thinking I would have to physically visit the National Archives, but surprisingly, I think one of the best things about this discovery is seeing the wide and ever-so-varied mix of people who experienced this in much the same way I did at the time, rather than just understanding the trial through the media narrative. It’s almost like discovering a secret society. And it is unquestionably awesome. I am such a geek, but I intend to put together some of the major holes of the prosecution’s physical evidence in the case, including the sock with no foot. But that case, of course, must include some of the Fung testimony. Just kind of incredible to find others who are weird in the same way I was/am. This is literally the first time I’ve come across anyone with the same basic understanding of the case as I had, instead of the ridiculous narrative of “it was all about race” & a “stupid” jury; which is an obvious offshoot of the “it was about race” narrative. You are 100% correct. The jurors perception is what killed the prosecutions case. All of these witnesses have been so coached to not answer questions that the jury is ready to strangle them.
      When Fung got caught lying about the envelope and then compounded it by saying he didn't even pick up anything until after the coroner's had left the jury knew they where are corrupt.
      The jurors later said they hated all the facial expressions being made by Marcia Clark and Christopher Darden. Today they have people in attendance who watch the jury and let the attorneys know what is working and what isn't.

      Fung was not prepared. The defense lawyers essentially put the prosecution on the defensive during their own case by in effect putting the LAPD on trial with extensive cross examination of every decision made. • @robperry5233
      @robperry5233 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There are
      at least two methods of lifting fingerprints from paper. The first
      uses "rubber-gelatin lifters", which are suitable for textured
      surfaces because of their thickness. The problem with paper is the
      uneven surface - a fingerprint on paper becomes visible when brushed
      with powder, but regular tape-lifters do not come in contact with the
      powder that has landed in the deeper parts of the paper, and so the
      lifted prints will be missing some details. Rubber-gelatin lifters are
      thick and are able to get down into all the inner recesses and form a
      sort of "cast" that can then be lifted off the paper as a whole. The
      second method consists of fuming the prints with Cyanoacrylate (Super
      Glue), dusting with powder, and then lifted using lifting tape.

One would think he would show more enthusiasm, competence, and just outright give a shit about what he does for a living. This wasn't some fancy lawyer trick on display here. Scheck totally exposed this man for the dishonest incompetent that he is.
    But that's all Scheck proved. The result still does change the fact that OJ's DNA was found at the crime scene. 1 and 170,000,000 accuracy or something like that? If the DNA became contaminated it would not have been able to be used as evidence. So in other words, the DNA at the crime scene was contaminated and the result was a match to OJ Simpson.? What do I know.?

      This is one 2 hour clip of a year long trial. For one, the defense doesn’t have to prove anything. They just have to create reasonable doubt. And for another, there are a ton of other parts in the trial where they explain what you’re looking for. They get several experts to explain what the cross-contamination would do as well as in closing statements, and how the mishandling of evidence made almost all of it unreliable.
      Additionally, the contaminated stuff was absolutely allowed to be used as evidence, even some of the officers have admitted it was contaminated now, they just don’t think that matters.

    Should have questioned the glove company asking them if o.j. was comped free gloves in and color and his size. No matter the color gloves it had all three blood samples on them ....guilty. what a scam this was.
