Boa noite Miguel. Foi com imenso Prazer que vimos o seu vídeo. Tomar é uma cidade muito linda onde se respira a verdadeira história de Portugal, as suas legendas em inglês são uma óptima forma de dar a conhecer ao Mundo parte da nossa história e da importância que os Cavaleiros Templários sediados em Tomar tiveram no passado na defesa e protecção dos peregrinos da religião católica quando se dirigiam a Jerusalém. Foi com imensa satisfação que constatei o grande empenho por parte do município de Tomar na reparação e reconstrução dos muitos edifícios históricos, incluíndo pavimentos e estradas comparativamente com a nossa visita em 2019. Muito obrigado pelo empenho e dedicação a esta linda cidade de Portugal.

Olá Carlos, boa tarde e obrigado pelo seu comentário! 😊É algo que já tenho reparado, nos últimos anos há um maior empenho dos municípios em Portugal em renovarem os seus monumentos, estradas, praças, etc, de forma a se tornarem mais atrativos para quem aí reside e para quem visita. Finalmente se faz esta aposta no turismo, sem ser em Lisboa, Porto ou no Algarve

Bom Dia Miquel - a fitting video to watch on yours and our day of Freedom. I love that our two countries celebrate our Freedom Day on the same day of the year and with a red flower (poppy for the ANZACs). Brilliantly filmed, very informative and yes we read all the texts as so interesting. We did visit Tomar in 2016 but were only able to spend enough time for lunch and a quick walk around the square. So much more to see and do there. Looking forward to Part II and also Fatima which I still have to watch. Warmest regards from NZ.

From what I remember, Tomar looks a lot better now than just a few years ago, especially that big square early in the video (around the 13 minute mark), which looked awful before.

Boa tarde Miguel, realmente Tomar tem muita história, fez bem dividir em dois vídeos, histórias fascinantes essas dos templários, e que estão ligados diretamente pode se dizer com o as grandes navegações e o descobrimento do Brasil.. Percebi que muitas construções não sofreram danos com o terremoto de 1755, principalmente com o aqueduto, estou certo? Coloque na sua lista de cidades a visitar e fazer vídeo de Évora, será tão interessante quanto Tomar..Abraços tenha uma ótima semana e estou a esperar o segundo vídeo..Tá ótima as legendas dá para acompanhar a leitura e as imagens....até semana que vem🤝🤝🤝🤝

Muita coisa se perdeu com o terremoto, como infelizmente em quase todo o país, mas o aqueduto é sólido, resistiu sem problemas! No próximo domingo vou mostrar onde termina o aqueduto. A igreja que filmei no início também não sofreu muitos danos. Já o castelo dos Templários sofreu alguns...
Évora será visitada em breve, talvez a cidade mais bonita do sul de Portugal.

0:20 I was in Tomar in May of 2022. I missed my train connection to Spain from Lisbon and ended up here for a few days. Absolutely loved this place. One of my favorite meals was at Clandestine Restaurant on R. De Joaquim Jacinto.

Ou seja, estava mais perdido do que cachorro num dia de mudança!!! Eh verdade!!!.. Entretanto, não tive a oportunidade de conhecer o centro da cidade. Mas a voce, me deu uma aula enooooorne da historia de incrivel lugar. Agora, quero voltar la, e escarafunchar tudiiiinho de maneira certa!!! I heard there are many Cape Verdeans there in Portugal .Could you recommend a tour guide for Sintra? I will travel to Lisboa of course and visit Porto , Sintra , Cascais and some others. @@passiondiverone2752 Cape Verde, nice! 😊 I've always wanted to visit Cabo Verde (as we say in Portuguese), but have yet to do it. Yes, the Cabo Verdean community is quite large, especially in the Lisbon metropolitan area (includes Sintra) and Setúbal.
I'm afraid I don't know any tour guides, but try the website withlocals.com, I've heard good things about it. 😊 Fall is a good season to visit Portugal, still warm weather, but with fewer tourists/crowds.

Cabo Verde is a poor country with rich traditions and music! I can’t wait to see Portugal and hope one day the Azores and Madeira ! I hope to retire there in a nice small city♥️
@@passiondiverone2752 I bet your mother made a lot of Cachupa, the most traditional Cape Verdean dish! 😀We have so many singers of Cape Verdean descent in Portugal, even a few soccer players in the Portuguese national team as well. Cape Verde is poor, but in the African context it's not that bad actually. Close to top 10 in terms of GDP per capita and probably higher in overall quality of life, due to low crime rate, political stability, no wars or terrorism, etc.
Madeira is beautiful too, but if you like nature Azores is a little heaven on earth! Visit the São Miguel island if you can 😍

Will be visiting this beautiful town in 2023. The description of how the Knights Templar fought the enemy reminds me of how the Vikings believed that dying in battle was a great honor and that they would then be taken to Valhalla and my Portuguese history professor uncle who told me stories of how our Celtic ancestors would terrorize the Roman invaders by running at them from hills nude covered in blue wodan (that apparently had properties that deadened physical pain and my have made feel invincible) yelling loudly with their weapons held up and ready to attack!
Have you made a video of the Knight Templars rituals? I ask because there's a tour that talks about this and I thought that you might know about these rituals? I have noted the pentagram on one of the windows of their church.

Hola! 😊 Los Caballeros Templarios fueron muy importantes en el establecimiento del Reino independiente de Portugal, en 1147. En ese momento, grandes áreas del territorio del actual Portugal estaban ocupadas por los moros (musulmanes del norte de África). Los Caballeros Templarios proporcionaron ayuda militar vital.
Y cuando la Orden fue disuelta por el Papa Clemente V, las cosas en Portugal permanecieron igual, los Caballeros Templarios simplemente cambiaron el nombre a Orden de Cristo. Con el tiempo, la Orden de Cristo evolucionó hasta convertirse en una importante institución que tuvo un profundo impacto en los esfuerzos de exploración marítima de Portugal durante la Era de los Descubrimientos.
Brindaron apoyo financiero y patrocinio, experiencia en navegación y geografía, inversiones en construcción naval y tecnología marítima, y mucho más.
