The fact that sex workers are treated as “less dead” makes me so freaking mad. Yes, many are addicted to drugs but if they had adequate mental help they wouldn’t have the need to escape reality. From what I’ve heard these women don’t want to do this but they have no other choice, they’re still people with friends and family. Many have said that they sell their bodies so that their kids don’t have to. It breaks my heart that even children are working like this and getting murdered with the police not caring
I always say get people mental health help who are addicts and maybe things would change. Nobody does drugs or sex work because they are happy. They use and do this to find just a little bit of happiness.
Mental health help is good on paper. However working for a ER and PD that used psychology treatment over criminal charges I'll say this. Availability of care isn't the problem in our area. The real issue is people not wanting the help. You can't force people to accept treatment and follow through. It's a complicated issue and I feel it needs a full community approach. Providing treatment is just part of it. They also need a safe place to go after that treatment and a team of professionals to hold them accountable. Our problem in my community is having that safe place to go after.
I just learned about a guy you may want to do a video on. They had a bit of his story on the show "Real Detective" episode "Misery" his name is Nathaniel Bar-Jonah. Real creep who killed and ate children.
I'm a little concerned that your description just makes me want to hear more. I love the most taboo stories I can find. The sort of thing that would just break TH-cam.
It's nice to see someone shed some light on victims like this. Thank you for the memorial message. Even though most of society looks down on the people of that lifestyle, they are still people. They deserved life, and they deserved happiness.

This is amazing. You're telling me history on my own city that I didn't even know. I had no idea the madness in the Cass Corridor went all the way back to the 70s let alone a big serial killer. These days they're gentrifying the area, its beautiful and these seedy parts will be gone for good but the history remains.
As a ex detective said (I believe on one of those Inside or GQ videos) we love to study the k ller but knowing the victim type would stop most of these crimes from happening. The amount of times it's a sex worker or an old women, shows we know where to put resources. Hopefully the police will take up that one day.

The murderer must've lived somewhere else. Had he lived anywhere near the area where he picked up the victims, the local people would have recognized his car and his acromegalic features. I mean, you can't hide your hands or your shoe size. Hence, he must've been from somewhere where people didn't know about these crimes, or didn't care enough to pay attention.

He was responsible for not only attempting to assassinate Larry Flynt, but he also murdered 4 people because of their race back in the 1980s! He claimed he wanted to prevent a “race war”. He ended up being sentenced to death in 2013. Sick man.
