Runaan was held in the dungeon before Viren trapped him in a coin - he ended up just like Tiadrin and Lain, Rayla's parents who were protecting the dragon prince as Dragon Guard until Viren invaded the dragon queen's lair and attacked them without mercy. But I know Tiadrin, Lain and Runaan will be set free from their coined prison someday and somehow, I just know it.

man this show really treats male characters badly every male character is always written as a loser to make woman look "strong" no wonder it kinda flopped compared to avatar which made sure to give its male characters many cool moments
How so? Rayla has more flaws than either of the boys (she's great though). Soren also gets the biggest and best character development, while his sister becomes more villainous. Aaravos, a male character, is undoubtedly the most cunning and badass character in the show too. Callum and Viren show off a lot of skill and smarts.
