I love how in the end the christian cross is fallen and burning on the battlefield while Ivar's crutch is still standing. I think it symbolizes what Ivar accomplished in his last moments. By putting on that show he became the very personification of the viking way of life and everyone on the battlefield knew when he was dying that they were witnessing the end of something special. I think that's what he truly meant by "You cannot kill me" and "I will live forever" he will live as the ultimate example of vikingdom in the legends of the northmen and the brittons alike untill the end of time o/

The scene Where his brother woke him up to reveal the teenaged Ivar I WAS HOOKED … l can’t imagine anyone else playing it the way he did ! I have come far with my mentality. But for someone that needs to hear this, you have endless potential. Make yourself mentally strong just like our brother Ivar. He knew he had weak bones, he did go through hell, always cautious and on the look, scared to do the basic things, go through physical pain and had endless battles with others but the hardest one was the fight within himself. Accepting that you are enough and to accept the fact that you are different than others, but that doesn't make you weak, it makes you unique. It is your choice to either be sad about the way you are or embrace your weakness and make it your source of strength. I am living proof that even when you have a something that makes you different, or something that you are ashamed of. Accept who you are and rise. You are the main character of your story, act like it. It will be a dreadfull journey and will not be easy, but as Ivar said: 'Don't be afraid'
I love this character. I have the same rage as him. My father past away a couple years ago and I am the youngest in my family. I remember how much my dad used to tell me to keep fighting and to not listen to stupid crap even not to follow what my brothers did. I felt alone alot of the time. Seeing this character really hit me.

@@topacybits3576 Who cares about realism, we can watch a documentary for it. Vikings always went with something more poetic, because it’s meant to be more of a legend rather than actual history. That’s a distinction between it and The Last Kingdom which follows history more closely. Bjorn died old and rich with a big family, that’d be his realistic death, but the way he went out in the show was phenomenal. They were also setting up Alfred vs Ivar, with Alfred being stabbed through the shoulder and Ivar going through that time in which his bones were easier to damage, and he was right there. That’s called a “cop out”. His death was unnecessary to be honest. He was winning, he had Alfred on the back foot, he was the invading force, he could’ve just waited until it went away, since it isn’t something uncommon to be going through those periods in which his bones were easier to break. He’s also the only Viking in the whole show who’s last words were “I’m afraid”, which is entirely contradictory with what we’ve seen from the very beginning until now.

Although I hated him for majority of the series, I feel like they did well in the end after Bjorn died to make Ivar a fan-favourite and BY FAR my second favourite Ragnarson. Ubbe is dope too but he just isn't as captivating as Ivar and Bjorn.

I feel so lost for can’t see him anymore,but actually by myself,I confess that it’s already the perfect end for him,when the hardest time in my life,I found this show,thank god,he or Alex really mean something for me,I can’t love any character more than him,and believe,that world exists,even only one believes that,it still exists,maybe in paradise universe,who knows,one day we will all meet that!So however hard is this world,just hold,you can find your greatness,just like Ivar!

@@topacybits3576 Who cares about realism, we can watch a documentary for it. Vikings always went with something more poetic, because it’s meant to be more of a legend rather than actual history. That’s a distinction between it and The Last Kingdom which follows history more closely. Bjorn died old and rich with a big family, that’d be his realistic death, but the way he went out in the show was phenomenal. They were also setting up Alfred vs Ivar, with Alfred being stabbed through the shoulder and Ivar going through that time in which his bones were easier to damage, and he was right there. That’s called a “cop out”. His death was unnecessary to be honest. He was winning, he had Alfred on the back foot, he was the invading force, he could’ve just waited until it went away, since it isn’t something uncommon to be going through those periods in which his bones were easier to break. He’s also the only Viking in the whole show who’s last words were “I’m afraid”, which is entirely contradictory with what we’ve seen from the very beginning until now.
