Been watching your vids for years trying to stay motivated man. Im so tired of my bad luck though. I've been sitting on this ek hatch ever since my last built eg hatch got stolen from me years ago. I finally got my license unsuspended and got my license plates for it and started fixing all 4 of the brake lines, the 2 fuel lines, getting rid of rust, priming the engine bay etc. So much labor bro. I've also been fixing rust holes with bondo which some ppl would say is terrible but idk how to weld so im just working with what i have. I want to rustoleum paint it with 2k clear. Long story short today was my first test drive after doing the brake lines and clutch line repair (with a compression fitting). Brakes work decent but now my engine is leaking oil. Like badly. Only after running about ten minutes it starts leaking under the crank pulley / timing cover area. I haven't looked hard but I am so frustrated by that I think its the oil pump seal or front crank seal. Im starting to lose interest bro idk what to do.
i think the part of getting your license back should be enough to really stay motivated. the first drive is always the greatest feeling after the project being down for some times. on the timing cover side, theres only a few possibility of oil leaks to be coming from there. oil pump seal, headgasket area, or cam seals. all easy jobs to tackle. shouldnt be hard to spot with the timing cover off.

Bro perfect compromise swoop up a piston/rod combo off of eBay, it’s like less than 500 and will get you back up and going. Looks like you have 3 1g dsm injectors and 1 2g dsm injector. Both are 450cc but still could be an issue. Also seein thay body kit smashed up makes me cry... you tryna go back swoop it and ship it up to portland?? Lol I want those bumpers so bad
Chipping ECU's is crazy easy. You should have no problem. Just take your time and dont use too much heat with the soldering iron. Might be a good idea to get some Flux and solder Wick you will thank me.
Im local southbay. I can teach you to convert that ECU to VTEC without buying anything.... I noticed that was an auto ecu which can be converted to VTEC with the hardware already inside them for the most part. Maybe steal one or two transistors from an old donor ECU; but the chips to control vtec are already there.
Hopefully they don't cancel ifo on Sunday cuz it says on the weather that its gonna rain im from Bakersfield looking forward on meeting u in person i drive a 91 Rhd honda civic hatch which will always be at ifo if it doesn't get cancel like last time when it was raining on the day that ifo was supposed to be on ..... disconnect lol 😂😂😂

Yoo I got a turbo car old turbo was pouring oil into exhaust so bought brand new turbo and manifold and it’s still doing it ... any ideas? I live near you and willing to pay for help??
That doesn't make sense on how you're trying to compression test that thing . Valves are probably open on cylinder 1 and you opened up another passageway for air to exit though the valve cover so it's literally just pushing through th valves and funding its way to the top of the oil fill .
Idk how you do it everyday working on cars and it’s not minor things you do 😭 I be debating doing small things on my first car simply because I don’t wanna mess anything up 😭😭

I think when you pulled that plug at the track and found the strap gone on it, that was a wrap. Most likely detonation killed the piston

How did you put it to TDC?
timing marks on cams and crank pulley, also with a long screw driver in cyl 1 to verify piston is at tdc
