  • In this video I share some experiences traveling through Egypt, some of my subscribers were curious to how I was being treated. I was told that “Egyptians” don’t consider themselves to be “black” and are racist. Watch as I share my honest first hand experience.
so why not make a video and share the experience? As an african american foreigner living here in the country of egypt for 3 years now I want to share my true experience. This video is not set up to talk bad about a particular set of people, its based off my experience.

I went to Egypt last year and received nothing but love. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. Many of the people were very happy to see a group of African Americans. And no these people weren't trying to sell us anything. These were regular people we encountered.

ive been to egypt twice. mostly the tourist areas. i have encountered the haters, the scammers, and the genuinely nice people who help you with anything you need. its not "your energy" so much as it is the same thing everywhere. you will run into good, bad, ugly everywhere. its all about which one impacts you more when it occurs. coming from the states, I've dealt with so much hatred - damn near ANYWHERE is a better option

Thank you for doing this Eddie, you are so right how they paint Egypt with a broad brush and it's certainly not like that.
A TH-camr just painted a very negative narrative about Egyptair and Egypt, it is not good to paint a brush like that it does a disservice for those who want to come.
I am in Egypt for most of the same reasons you mentioned. I have had great experiences in the country and with the people.
I also agreed from your previous videos that you do need to travel to other countries for socialization.
But I have not been targeted because of my color etc. I just arrived in Egypt and I went to renew my visa after just returning and once we got to the right department they stamped my passport for 3 more months with no fuss or must, that's what I like about Egypt and the easiness to get things done.
It works for me financially also.
Hope to see you one day.
    Salaam

I am sure that the people who were telling you not to go to Egypt because they are racist, never put their foot in Egypt. It's very surprising to see how people who have no experience about something are the first to open their mouth to give their opinion about something they don't have a clue about. Its usually not an issue here in egypt but if u ever experience bad attitude especially these days i want u to know it’s becuz there happens to be a huge influx of sudanese people legally and illegally and in some areas theyre even more abundant than egyptians so naturally there would be some sort of tension occasionally but other than that egyptians are very hospitable to foreigners.
Also careful when buying if u speak english ull get overpriced , as an egyptian i do get overcharged just for looking abit classy so just know ur prices and deal with trusted vendors .

Two years later and still wonderful. If there is racism and I will say this it's towards sub-Saharan Africans. They ignore the country's laws and are takers. Black Americans are givers and we obey laws. There is also a caste system which Black Americans do not fall under. We pull our own weight financially.
