Looks great! Fantastic work. I've demoed many bathrooms and rarly ever see backer board motar to the floor but the ones have have ran into are one hell of a removal.
For anyone watching this not familiar with tile work this is job that will out live you. Coming from someone who learned from their dad with 40+ years experience I do it the same way as this guy. Happy to see other people out there proud of what they do and giving people a good job. Good work man
Coming from a diy amateur I ripped out the floorboards completely and replaced with structural cement subfloor. I have no idea about construction code in wet rooms, but timber flooring even if covered with sheeting doesn’t make any sense
I love encouraging comments like these! Great soul and I totally agree. I didn't learn from dad, but I did learn it the same way from Isaac the tile coach and stud pack, years before my first tile system. Now I'm a beast like you guys!
@HyPatheticHam He obviously back buttered. So the comment, as i understood, said dont do what he did and back butter. As in do not backbutter. Why would you not back butter? Please do not respond for others. You do not know what they meant.
@@smorris6539 please don’t assume that I’m responding for others I’m responding to you, this is a yt comment section not a private dm. It is open forum. And to further that point I do not believe that is proper back buttering and that maybe what the original comment was referring to. It looks as though he has scraped most of the thinset off the back, where I’m from how tile is is expected to be buttered is to run the same lines for your floor as you do on the back of the tile. Hope that clears things up! Have a nice week.
That sub-floor was crying to replaced! Great job!
Thanks!
Awesome job!!
Thanks!

@@TheJj3194 The best work is always the hardest to remove. Sometimes I'm thankful for lazy contractors on demo jobs! 😅
That looked really nice. Props for the Eminem music. I'm from Detroit.

@@SKORPIUSOPTIMUSsame! And thank you
The music made me want to watch the entire vid.
Smh you should have put down some type of waterproofing material, red guard or mopei be for the tile on top of that hardi board
No waterproofing is wild
Cement board is good enough for a spare bathroom I guess
Good idea but way too messy you need to be much neater with your thin set
Yessir, I subscribed
The thinset in the grout joints is super sloppy to me. Should have sponged the edges before laying down
You forgot to put the bathtub under the tub faucet!
Brown paper between the subfloor and the underlayment layer at a minimum if you're not going to use engineered wood flooring glue or thin set.
Why?
@@alexanderbrown2982 but why?
A-1!
Thanks!
And..... In the next video, we will show you how to brush your teeth. 😅
Please do not do what he did and back butter
Why?
@@smorris6539you’re more likely to have hollow tiles that way, back buttering ensures full coverage and a tight seal to the thin set
I did backbutter
