My god this track still sounds so amazing today. Timeless. Top 5 prog tracks of all time along with cass n slide - perception. C.M dream universe - tilt remix. Brings tears to my eyes.
I was recently at a party, where the local dj's played only "oldschool" stuff, this was mixed after Hale Bopp: goes without saying, that I was having some serious goosebumps. :) As timeless as they come.
The random talking in the intro reminds me of Underworld's Jumbo. I also like the several (now rarely used anymore) short filtered (?) synth and bassline melodies that are more like a part of the rhythm than an actual melody and gives you the typical progressive feeling we now miss in most of recent progressive tracks.
@Trancer93 The main difference is the breakdown of the Banjo version from 6:23-6:56 and the part on the Shadow Loungin Mix from 6:23-6:41. Other small details can be noticed between the 2. My personal favorite is the Banjo version, but i also enjoy this version also.
Lets have it right, the best time for prog house and trance was the period 1996-2001.oaky,sasha,digweed,seaman,warren,etc were our beatles. what have kids got now.shite "r+b" and bianca gascoine, pixie geldoff, lauren pope and peter andre's brother' dj'ing dahn the "'suga hut mate" fuck that!.i'll remember 'whoop it up' down the velvet rooms ta very much. i probably sound like me grandad having a moan at me dad when he watched the stones on ready steady go.for those in the know. i salute you..
I think that era went as late as 2004 or even 2005, after that the electro era came in. I have tons of sets from 04 that were still real progressive, but it fell off fast much later than that.
DaG37boy Exactly. During 2006 most of the progressive djs, producers and labels changed their sound to electro house, neo trance (border community-like) or even minimal tech house. After 2007 the rest of the remained trance producers followed. that, or they went into digital only releases obscurity. After ten years the party was over, I guess.
I have disc 3! Cost me 100.00 to find the (Pariah's Shadow Lounging remix). However, I thought it was the (Pariah remix) that was on Sasha's Ibiza CD? Either way a track from the greatest era of progressive house, trance, breaks, & ambient. Quality track all the way through. Wish Breeder/Pariah would of continued to produce mastepieces such as this.
With you brother. And yes, I realise I am replying to you 9 years after your post! However I did a massive review of all the remixes last year when a friend mentioned the original tune, wondering if I had missed any or if there were any newbies. Got lost down the rabbit hole for a while : ) Back now because someone mentioned Space Manoeuvres here: th-cam.com/video/dvUdeGpYnYg/w-d-xo.html
Try mixing the NASA samples at the beginning over the beginning of Breeder's Tyrantanic - sounds fucking amazing! This tune is awesome! I prefer the original, but this one is as good as it gets.
20 years later...i finally learned the name of this track....
clearly one of the best progressive tracks ever!!!
Used to blast this on the way to raves with the crew back in the late 90's early 2000's best of times ❤

amen to that. it is a staggering piece of music

Jai Watson perception is still my all time fav, rarely gets mentioned
Listening to it now in 2020 and it’s still incredible!!
This is my favorite electronic song! OK my fav song of all !
What. A. Choon. Unreal buildup. Chills starting at 7:30.
DJ Fonarev introduced me to this great track. Back in the 90s
Still massive after all these years

This one doesn't appear on Sasha's GU013. You're thinking of the Banjo Mix. They're very similar.
This is a cracking mix. My promo copy has tilt's Apollo 11 mix on the flip. The leama and moor mix is also outstanding
+Sea Possum Ah, the banjo mix. Prefer that to this mix tbh
2 people were abandoned in deep space

immense breakdown - some awesome strings and appegio.
Really the best mix. It's exactly this remix that is used on Ibiza CD1 with some modifications.
That is because the remix was the Banjo
Love this ❤️
What an intro & what a builder too ... This was & always will be mahoosive : ))
uuuffffffffff esta cancion me marco mi vida!!!
Wow!

HI !!! FROM ESPAÑA ,, I LOVE IT !!!
As usual, Sasha makes it epic on GU Ibiza. Still a banger tho
yeah! This is a good remix. the breaks side on stage two is still my fave though.
thank you so much for posting this!

i get absolutely caught up in all the different remixes of this tune. will never decide which one i think is best - stage one is the shit!
With you brother.

the bit at 7:53 makes me tingle
Sasha - Ibiza Global underground 1999 CD1.
Yes, this mix is a little different than what is on Sashas Ibiza. But that is one of the best compilations ever.
Nais

6:27 ftw
Hooj was the best label of the time oi oi
Definitely top 5, and number 1 depending on the week. Nalin and Kane, Paragliders, etc... truly a great catalog.
Song reminds me of donkey kong country water level
Major remix, an inspiration...
Does anyone know the difference between this and Pariah's Banjo version?
what does anyone think of the separation mix?
Sasha
yup Ibiza / Evissa gu albumn - !
Alexander Paul Coe !! ...
Magnificent breakdown. But terrible re-entry. They could have done so much more with it. But I loved the tune back in the day and most of the remixes.
Does anyone else hear Diamanda Galas samples in there?
holee
Awesome Tune, Sex for my ears
;-)
Not got x hymm x
