Keep up the good work Simon, I absolutely enjoy your tennis content! Thank you very much for giving us an inside view of the player's lives and the challenges of being a professional tennis player. Good luck in your future endeavours!
Thanks Simon!
Great informative video with great commentary.
I heard a lot of questions that you ask yourself.
I will be very happy to repost your video and your TH-cam channel in other social networks.
Thanks Simon, and nice to see Frans cheering you on. Gola seemed like a very worthy opponent and he played your weakness savagely with those stud drop-shots. Hope your ankle problems heals up. Looking forward to your next match.
🙏👊
For Anyone Wondering: An ATP 250 event is part of the main ATP tour and is one of 5 events that takes place on it (250, 500, 750, 1000, Slams.) Before competing on the ATP tour you must gain a ranking through lower level tournaments like Challenger events that are one step about Future Tournaments (ITF Events.) In the video he shows the difference between the two. Hope this can help someone😊
Just a small correction: there are no ATP750 tournaments
grand slams are not on the atp tour there are itf tournaments
From your ATP doubles video you were pretty excited about the new balls, it is a good incentive to give back on tour, to get those fresh balls. I always enjoy watching your warm up routines ,as a low level player there is something I can borrow. Ankle injuries are tough, you can go on long/steep bike rides, but not the same as tennis.
The grind is for real. Good job with the positivity and I really like your outlook.
Great vid Simon. Best of luck with the ankle mate!
Love your vids. Well done. You are the best. Keep up the good work❤
Nice! I must say I was shocked to see you playing the ATP tournament, as if I'm not mistaken you mentioned in a previous video that this was supposed to be a 6-month period until full recovery, due to damaged ligaments. Take care of your health first, you definitely will come back stronger!
#TapeItUpLikeCrazy 😅
Keep fighting Simon ;-) Great videos again!!
Well done Simon. Playing singles at 60% physical output is not enough for today's standards. Considering that, you did fantastic with your first game in this video.I personally know how bad ankle injuries can affect you in tennis having a torn left ankle.
Keep up the great work and thank you for this amazing video.
Cheers!
M
cant wait to see the doubles. sports injuries suck, takes so long to fully recover but for you the grind forces you to keep pushing on otherwise you lose your income
Keep it up Simon!
Have you done any videos like “what’s in the bag?” Or any specs about your rackets/strings?
Would be nice to see 😃
Coming asap!!
Keep moving forward bro! Its super competitive and so many good players. I wish you the best of luck, and that you do your best at everything there is to do in tennis. Maybe you will make it to the top someday!
I used to want to try to compete in tennis. But what i noticed is....its SUPER hard, especially with the tournament bracket and the types of tournament there are. What we see like Federer/Djokovic/Soderling/Wawrinka, all these top players. They have played INSANE amount of matches and they are like literally the top top top players. They put in the work probably more than we ever will put in. So I'm grateful that I get to see and experience through your videos, what its like to compete in the high end of the tennis competition.
Again, great content ... too bad you needed to stop, good that you did listen too your body. Doubles can bring you far in tennis, check the Joran Vliegen and Sander Gillé story (two players from Belgium), they are rocking it.
Get it!!!
Cool video. Usually I don't like that angle but it was kind of cool to see the mud flying off of your opponent's shoes. He was a really good player, so I think getting through 6-1, 6-1 was quite a feat. Kind of lucky that the kid kept double faulting on every break point. I know how frustrating that is as a player. Almost nothing worse than a double fault.
13:57 wtf are those grunts in that point lol.
Unlucky with the singles but good luck for your doubles Simon! Lets go💪👍
Let’s go Simon
Great commentary
Hoping the ankle gets better, and best of luck in the doubles, but I must ask- where is the pancake 😂. Looking forward to the doubles video
Indoors!!
Keep going Simon loving the vids, your gonna get big soon I'm sure of it. Top work as usual and amazing tennis, wishing you all the best in future tournaments and getting to those higher levels!!
that rally around 12 min was insane lol
Hi Simon, great content! I have an idea I wanted to share with you based on what type of videos you are posting. Do you think you will have the time to make a quick commentary on videos we share with you (on a platform that could be decided later on) when we show our tennis level and you give some tips on what to improve? Could become a series but again, might be a little time-consuming for you, considering all you traveling for tournaments and all. Thanks!
Hi Neo! I have online video coaching available right now @ www.pillar.io/simonfreund
However , it is quite time consuming so might go down in quantity very soon (hopefully when body is 100% and I can focus more on tournaments)
Th dog at 10:39 is adorable
keep going 🤗
Even healty i am not sure if you would win this second match. Andrea looks very solid with his strokes and he likes to think on the court which is not something you always see in tennis.
Injuries are really tough - you are desperate to play but you need the injury to recover and playing makes it worse... Don't take to many risks, don't want an "I'm out for 6 months video".
Maybe you should take a longer brake and recover 100% on that ankle (with doctors or specialists). There is no point in playing with that kind of suffering and never recovering 100% because you keep putting stress there. Futures aren't going anywhere.
Yeah, decided to take all of august to really make sure it gets 100%. No reason to keep trying to force it :/ tough decision to make, but been going halfsies for too long…
@@Simon.Freund tough but a wise decision. With a bad ankle not only it's harder to run, but the whole chain of movement it's affected, so when you get better, not only you will move better but hit the ball with all your muscles, just be patient and then you will have so many good results i hope!!
First opponent was really stoic. Works against weaker opponents to wear them down, but not vs you. Your deep spin balls are really a pain in the ass for the opponent. If you only had these more striking shots as well u would be able to close the rally better. A combination of Felix and Simon would be a very good player :p. Its like you both have what the other lacks. Although Felix improved a lot on his solid game. Great content though. Good luck ahead.
Why not just go full pro doubles?
Now granted I’m no pro, but I do play college tennis. Even if you’re better at something doesn’t mean that it’s what you 100% want to do. There are something’s that you can only mentally handle doing so much
Singles also keeps him well-rounded as it prioritizes different shots than doubles.
Not done with singles! Got plenty more to give 💪 but really enjoy playing doubles, prob more than singles (but usually winning helps too haha…)

Do you consider picking one direction doubles or singles, because i think its the part you are lacking right now, you are spreading between these two modes and not grinding for extra edge on court for example im big tennis expert and i havent heard about player Gola thats like downside for you, you playing some good tennis doing good reviews but lacking somewhere always if you have to compete against unknown players and lose to them. You need some secret weapon or something minimise excuses why you lose get some x factor on your shots maybe more confidence in your clutch shots etc. Maybe you need see through your opponents mistakes more maybe im wrong i dont know im just trying to help
