Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is set to see its titular Titans tag team threats of a whole new scale, and Screen Rant has a first look at the ScreenX poster. As the fifth feature film entry in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, the movie picks up where 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong left off and sees Godzilla and King Kong reach an uneasy truce in service of the greater good. The movie was written by Terry Rossio, Simon Barrett and Jeremy Slater with a story by Adam Wingard, who also served as director.
Screen Rant is happy to present the ScreenX poster for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Like the Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire trailer, the poster shows off Godzilla’s new look while also offering a look at a battle-ready King Kong. Helicopters also imply that humans will fight alongside the Titans in the movie’s major battles, and the presence of the Christ the Redeemer statue in the background setting up a major fight in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

@@onionsandoats7600 The problem with giving either of them a dominant win over something is that it would take away any stakes for the fights, at least if that win is over the big bad. Based on the trailers though, it looks like we are going to be getting an opening fight between Godzilla and Scylla, which will likely showcase Godzilla being the top dog. Kong on the otherhand, i think he actually starts bodying Skar in their first encounter, until Skar calls out Shimo to back him up. Throughout all these trailers Skar getting absolutely bullied by Kong seems to be a theme, bringing him to his knees in the underground arena, winning the air tackle exchange, tossing him into Godzilla's tail slam, and just straight up decking him in the jaw and knocking out a tooth.
That was just the part where Skar was gonna die
when kong jumped on godzillas back at the end hyped me for some reason

I absolutely love the huge swing Legendary is taking with this film. The story line seems absolutely insane and it feels different than the other Monsterverse films. Like way more stakes attached now that they’ve laid the groundwork. It seems like it’s going to be insanity right from the jump. I just hope they can land the dismount cuz I honestly don’t know they end this. Which just makes me want to see it more.
