I'm sure a lot of you have seen Steven Universe and Adventure Time, so I gotta ask: What's y'all's favorite Rebecca Sugar song? A lot of people are saying "Come Along With Me" but that's actually not a Rebecca Sugar song, it's called "Island Song" and it's by the band LAKE sung by Ashley Erickson
I like that she mentions different cultural traditions around the world, like "Green Christmases" or KFC dinners. It really shows that this holiday is celebrated differently by different people in the world, but ultimately for everyone that celebrates it, it holds the same special meaning.
This is just such a uniquely Rebecca Sugar song. It has that simultaneously wholesome, lovely, emotional, and poignant feeling only she can pull off this masterfully.
I find it fascinating that in the last verse she repeats the word “special” and “it’s a special” not just because it’s Christmas time which is a special time of year but also because it applies in a meta sense. This is the shows Christmas “special” with the custom intro and outro. Just thought the double meaning was sweet and a nice touch and who doesn’t love hearing Rebecca Sugar sing with her soft sweet vocals. Happy Holidays everyone!
I’m not even kidding. This might be my new favorite episode of Amphibia. Actually no, one of my favorite episodes of television. It was perfect in every way. And this song shows exactly way. Especially cause I just really love Rebecca Sugar and her work.
Reminder. Rebecca Sugar is Jewish. She wasn’t forced into doing this. She choose to do so despite not celebrating the holiday. That is beautiful to me.
A whole year it's been since Steven Universe Future ended. And hearing Rebecca Sugar's singing voice tells me that her show's legacy will live on. I hope her song becomes a traditional Christmas song because it is a special time of the year and warms up anyone's heart. "Love Like You" is her masterpiece of a song and matches my zodiac sign perfectly.
Bro not only the episode aired on my birthday but the fact that they brought Rebeca sugar, give in the fact that I am a Steven Universe fan, makes the episode more personal for me
Lyrics: I'm sure you feel it coming There's something on the breeze It might be slightly snowing, Or 70 degrees Regardless of your hemisphere The holidays are here And with them come the tidings of This special time of year A bucket of fried chicken A costume for your dad A demon who will stuff you In a sack if you've been bad A reindeer gets promoted An old man confronts his fear of karma and mortality The special time of year Whatever makes you happy Whatever gets you through Whatever lets you know that- I am feeling this with you If you believe it's special Then that's what makes it special It’s a special, it’s a special It’s our special time of year
All these animators and artists and creators working together, voicing certain characters or just literally showing up in each others shows. I love it. If youve seen the all the creators/writers/animators who all originated from each other's shows, have worked together in the past, you can't help but appreciate it a little more.
It's so refreshing to hear a voice that I haven't heard in a such a long time. The song itself is so beautiful too, It just makes you feel good in a way that I don't know how to explain. It also reminds me of Steven Universe, and how much I miss that show, so it's kind of a bittersweet moment for me. When The Owl House and Amphibia end, I am definitely gonna sing "It's Over Isn't It". Anyway, I hope you all have a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
Just hearing this song play over the episode, it filled me with nostalgia. I love Rebecca's songs. And this one is just as good as ever other one, but at the same time, Different. It has a special feeling to it. After all this time.
Rebecca Sugar just going around spreading good vibes and calming tunes. She's like the singing Art Garfunkel moose from that one episode of Arthur (and the wedding ring was a very nice touch).
She truly Is a "rare gem" to see her either guest star as her normal self or any singing character In any show let alone Disney and feel like she truly fits right home, and a real pity she doesn't guest star too often be be her own stand-alone character just like Ian was with his own show with Rad as OK KO Let' Be Heroes. Doesn't matter If she has her owns style of humour or just down-to-earth like the other but still wished she appeared more now and then then slowly "drifting away" out of existence and still have other projects outside of Steven Universe like something all new original for newcomer to Invest In but still "familiar" to old time fans like us!
I've always enjoyed what Rebecca has done within animation and with such talent too especially her songs. I don't always agree with her but shes definitely earned her place in animation.
This already sounds like a classic Christmas song you'd hear on the radio. I mean that in a good way because this type of Christmas song always gets me choked up.
I just watched the episode and almost immediately when I heard the voice I knew it was Rebecca Sugar or at least had Rebecca Sugar vibes! I absolutely love how Amphibia has all these cool diverse people working with the show!
Steven Universe was the first cartoon series that I fell in love with last 2019, since I wasn't much of an avid cartoon fan back then. It was only through SU that I got into other cartoon series. 8 cartoon shows later (with a side of tears and laughter), I finally get to hear Rebecca's soothing voice after quite a while. I am so proud of Rebecca, and for Matt Braly and the Amphibia crew for making this show happen :')
Huh, i was aware of that Rebecca Sugar had written a song for this Episode and there by expecting it, i wasn’t expecting that Rebecca herself would physically appear to sing it however.
When I saw her character I was going, "Why does she seem famili-" As soon as she started singing I was like "Oh my gawd, they got Rebecca Sugar to do a song for this episode"
The one flex I have is that Rebecca sugar and I share the same birthday ✨✨ I love them sooo much from their work on Adventure time and steven universe ahhh they really made my preteen years special
Old Christmas carols let us introduce you to Rebecca Sugar! Rudolph, Frosty, and Shawn Mendez and Camilla Cabello I'm sorry to you all but Rebecca Sugar's Christmas Carol is Superb
Probably not on Cartoon Network... Though if I was disney I would see about greenlighting a series involving multiple show runners. A joint project of sorts.

I don’t know if I’d go that far, but I did love it, and Rebecca Sugar’s song is definitely one of my new favorites of hers.
It's my third favourite episode probably but it's mainly because of the Darcy appearance xD
It’s one of my favorite Christmas specials in any tv show
I almost cried when I heard this song

The song is a winter holiday song. It celebrates multiple winter holidays and traditions
Yeah sure.
It references traditions and stories of the season, but no particular holiday

Literally just animated Rebecca Sugar singing. And I'm here for it. This was such a treat. :)

I feel like they'll start putting this song on the radio when Amphibia nostalgia starts setting in.
Maybe DIsney Radio, but I would love for this to be on any regular station.
