One is also 'having faith' to 'obeying' - it saddens my heart to see what the Pharisees in Jesus' earthly ministry laid as heavy burdens on believers are what the legalists of our day is trying to do to us. My condolences on the death of a dear member of the church. Holding back on reaching out to y'all until the funeral is well past. Good to know that this person was a believer (forgot whether it was a woman or man, sorry). Would y'all pray for my former brother-in-law? He was diagnosed with tumor in the brain very recently. Pls pray for his full recovery as I am the one in the family who's going to be the cornerstone for preparing for his future (if his brothers or sister are not stepping up for him) & provide consolidation for my niece & sister (who's mentally & psychologically challenged).
Good question. Not doing what you know is right to do (especially biblically right) is a sin. God is not looking down on you just because you don’t go to certain church services. Nonetheless, he is displeased when we have opportunity and we neglect that opportunity. If you can fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ (which is commanded), then why not? If you have a job or something similar that keeps you from church at certain times, then that’s completely okay. God is not a legalistic God. He is forgiving and loving, but He does expect us to serve Him with as much as we possibly can. There should also be joy in serving Him; not burdens. - Trent
I just had a question. Is it ok to hang a cross in your home. This may be a silly question, but I heard it could be idolatry. Of course I am not worshipping the object, just to symbolize my love for God. I am a born again Christian, with a relationship with the Lord. Just curious
I don’t believe it’s wrong. Idolatry is something or someone we put before Christ. A cross is simply a tool used to memorialize his death. We don’t worship the bread and juice elements, but they are a tool. If we call the cross an idol, then we are really stretching. Could it be an idol somehow? Yes. Is it in the general sense used as an idol? Not that I’ve seen. Maybe the occasional necklace? That’s still stretching though. - Trent
We do only use the KJV, but we don’t like KJV-only position due to the common teaching that the English is inspired. The Greek and Hebrew were inspired, but we believe God preserved His word with the best English being the KJV. Ultimately we reference Strong’s concordance when doing word study. - Trent
God's word is above His name, amen!
