Wow thank you once again for the plug, was wondering why I was suddenly getting so many more subscribers! This is massive - appreciate it A LOT ⚒️⚒️⚒️ HB & HC Collab pending 👀
In relation to Brian, if it was in the summer window, I'd tend to keep my powder dry ish. But, we are DESPERATE Geo. Brian can hopefully REMAIN FIT and add some needed athleticism and good aggressive hold up play. A goal a game would be the cherry on the cake😂😂😂🍒🍒🍒🍒. Actually, 0.7 goals per game would be INCREDIBLE.
Indeed and as such far less of the ridiculous risk we took with Fulkrug who was very much a fill in despite it being the Summer window when the theory is there are more options. I fear this Summer will be rather more difficult than last scarily, to get the players we need, both in terms of status and available funds. We simply can’t afford to wait as a strategy only do so if we cannot get someone we need at the right price and deal and reluctantly accept the set back. Of course if we had got rid of Loppy when we all know we should we would have been better prepare this Jan to find the player(s) we urgently need. Can’t help but wonder if that was a deliberate Sully tactic to avoid spending or even making a decision.
We’ve left ourselves in a position where we need to get a striker this window and selling clubs will know that. We all want a young, dynamic striker and we want one Potter wants and will use. We have to trust in Potter that he can help this player settle in and improve so I’m optimistic. I was all for a straight loan for someone to plug the gap until the summer but this is the type of player that we don’t get another shot at if he starts scoring in the second half of the season. I think he looks like he’s worth the risk at 30m Euros but that’s because I’m optimistic Potter can get the best out of him.
As far as I understand it Geo, all obligations to buy have caveats, otherwise you’d just sign the player with a deferred payment. If that’s correct, my opinion would depend on what those caveats are.
I disagree. It can also be for PSR purposes which have a maximum of 5 years so you can’t defer the payment in that regards. See Diomande for example of loan with obligation with no clauses
He reminds me of obafemi martins. The lack of goals this season does not worry me he looks like the prem would suit him more than where he is playing now with slow build ups I am just a bit hesitant because of his height but I think this could work well with the right tactics
Don’t think 30m is awful for a young striker with all the potential to do well in the prem (strength n pace, good hold up). Could work… we’ll see I guess.
As far as I can gather, he has been data analysed to fit the teams and Potter's preferred style of play. I just hope that if there is an obligation to buy then it should come with some substantial caveats to trigger that obligation.
A different point of view, whilst I agree with wanting to buy strikers in the summer window, does buying a forward now spread the cost when Ings, Fullkrug, and potentially Antonio, leave in the summer? It might look like a shrewd move when we’re scrambling for somebody then.
I like the look of this guy! Strong fast & young with lots of potential! Think with potter molding him he could be perfect for us in the prem! Fingers crossed and being optimistic!! Why not!?! 😂
I think Brobbey is a great move, young & impressionable, hungry, physical, not injured, fast, strong, dynamic, explosive....he's had a bad season because most of his supply the season before was sold, that's Ajax for you they are a selling club. His stats last year are superb, he is worth more than 30 if Duran is worth more than 75 '>
Cant help but think that any commitment to finances now means we will have to raise funds by selling. Dont think anyone will be that surprised if Kudus goes this summer.
I’m hopeful it’ll go through and work out; not getting overly excited given our record on strikers but fingers crossed. I was half-expecting no new arrivals this window tbh.
Like your analysis of him. I’d be happy using the squad and under 21s this season but excited by a young (22 year old) Dutch player under the guidance of Potter. Risk is worth it.
He's got West Ham hero written all over him, judging by the clips. Antonio with greater technique, schooled in the Ajax way. Fans need a lift, get Brobbey over the line even with OTB. If the worst happens, and he doesn't hit the mark he is young and will have a reasonable resale value.
Thanks for the update Geo. Dont know anything about him, but let's hope he is what we need. Linking back up with Kudus may be exciting. €30m does seem steep though for a striker who isn't that prolific in a weaker league. To be honest, for that amount of money, I'd rather wait till the Summer and put the money towards someone Potter really wants and would be right for us and not an expensive stop gap.
All highlights reels make a player look better than he actually is. Having said that, at least he appears to have a shot in either foot, which is an absolute must for a lone striker.
Geo at last a possible new signing that looks to be a no brainer. Young and has played with Kudos. Lets hope the powers that be get this deal done. Looks to have all the ingredients to be a great fit for the player and the club. Get this over the line and we can see that maybe the club are 100% behind Potter who for meis a breth of fresh air to us. COYI
I totaly get your point geo. Oblication to buy is risky as f.. and we need to spend anyway next summer but already have 70mil spent before the window even starts.
Potter was thinking seriously about joining Ajax, so he's done the homework on their players. Sounds like he already made his mind up that he's a player that he can work with.
I think he'll be a good signing and damn sight better than seeing Ings up there. He's also got 33 goals in 79 since he joined Ajax in '22. There's also the fact he'll know Alvarez from his time there.
I think even with Potter (who I like very much), West hams natural position in the premiership is around 8th or 9th. There will be seasons when we might over/under achieve, but to finish in the top ten most seasons with a real go at winning a domestic cup would satisfy most hammers fans (well, me at least!!!😂😂)
I think we're ninth in terms of wage bill, but a bit higher in terms of net transfer spend (which might suggest we're overpaying for players), so 8th is probably par. The fact Moyes finished 6th, 7th, 9th and won our first trophy in almost half a century when we finished 14th, shows what a good manager he was for us.
Fair points……. Just thinking of doing something radical in the window and for team structure……..get brobbery and then get Ferguson on loan and play 2 up top
Personally I’m happy with this deal. They must think he’s there guy to commit to the 30mill. He’s young, with potential, which is really important given our current forward group. Re the loan, it’s not about seeing if he’s good enough, all transfers are a risk. It’s just about moving the money cos how much we’ve already spent this year + means his wages will be cheaper for 6 months.
Geo…. I remember you and Gonzo doing a vid about how the board admire the Brighton Model… they are literally bringing in the Brighton Model, all we need now is Dan Ashworth, do you think that will happen?
The “Brighton model” is more than the key figures. They have an entire system which he will not have here. These people will join West Ham, and when they leave, the “model” will leave with them. That’s the difference
It's crazy how Everton are only 3 points behind West Ham with a better goal difference now Moyes has taken over. I wouldn't be surprised if they finish above us
Problem I have is that we need to plan for next season now, (as we should have done a year ago and suffered in not doing) II understand your reluctance to commit but we need at least one viable player this window I believe because it will be virtually impossible to do the whole of the required rebuild in the summer, shown by last Summer being a disaster trying to do that. So I don’t know this player but we do need someone be it striker, midfield or defence that we can rely on (as far as you can) and I don’t think temporary quick fixes are if that’s all we get are the right option, we simply don’t have the time esp as we know Kudus is likely leaving in the Summer amongst others. 2 month rebuilds with some quick fixes there too I note through desperation, simply don’t work esp at West Ham, we can’t afford another Summer like that and I don’t think we can simply like last Jan wait for it to be the be all and end all, we are simply too poor a squad for that.. However I do understand your reluctance to commit at that price if the player is to big a risky investment.
Cracking video guys as usual. I am traveling from Norway to London for the cockney rejects concert and hopefully the Chealse away day. Haven't gotten my hands on a ticket tho, does anyone here happened to know someone who is selling? Would be crazy, always wanted to experience an away day.⚒
Not sure about us being obligated to buy him if he flops, but we need an Ings/Antonio/Fullkrug replacement anyway. So if he does, we can buy another striker in the summer. Will we have much wiggle room if we've already forked out about 70m on Todibo and Brobbey?
Brobbey could be the new Antonio. However, Ajax want a guaranteed 30m at the end of the loan and we don't have the money. Spurs & Everton sniffing around now
At some point Geo you will have to go along with the obligation stance with players coming in I know you don’t like it this way but like it when letting players going out the club, we all have to take chances in life otherwise we wouldn’t make any progress moving forward 👍 but I get what your saying
I hope we havent completely written off fullkrug, he seems like the right player for potter That said, we do need a younger understudy, and at £25m, brobbey doesn't seem like a bad deal
Very raw, not a fantastic goalscoring record in what is a very pony league. Good luck to fella and fingers crossed all works out if he signs, but I’d have preferred Brian Deane.
As it’s not a Salthouse client then this can’t be board led, so the question becomes is this a target of the previous analysts or the new? If the new then have they said he’s our number one guy or just someone they want to loan. Either way a loan with option is always best, cos you just never know. The only way we should accept an obligation is if the new team are 100% certain this is the guy they want leading the line for the next 5 years. The only thing worrying me is the spurs interest, those mugs paid 60mil for solanke 😂
Is £30m for a striker really that much these days? James Ward-Prowse, a player who regularly contributes up to 15 goals a season in midfield cost us the same total 2 summers ago. Look at the prices clubs pay for strikers. How much was that Porto striker that went to Bournemouth? Solanke when he went to Spurs. £30m for a striker is peanuts in the year 2025.
First time I've ever made a comment so hope it comes across ok. We need a Striker now and unless we buy a proven Prem striker, anybody we buy now or in the summer we will be taking a risk. A loan with an obligation...Just means we are buying him now.."Buy Now Pay Later" option.....and if he doesn't work out, at least in the summer we can go out again and try for another bargain...or hope that someone from the academy takes the step up?
We dont just need one striker , we need two unless you want to be in the same situation next season. 30 million for a 22 year old Dutch international is not bad money . If we think hes good enough for this season then hes good enough for next season.
He ain't really been tested.Lets hope he stays injury free and he lasts more than a season.worry is though he turns out the same as all the strikers we have brought in since 1st season at our beloved LS .I have a better success rate at my boys under 12 side.
We need a striker and 25 million is nothing to the money we wasted on strikers in the past. So what happens if he does really well and it’s only a straight loan and the cost doubles . At the end of the day every transfer is a risk
Pros: 22 years old! 25 million quid for a striker with Euro cup experience is not bad these days; he is physical and could deal with the PL. Cons: this season, he has netted three goals across all competitions, missing 19 big chances. In the league, he has scored once and missed 11 big chances. But as a good holder of the ball, perhaps he could be a good provider? Not sure, but beggars can't be choosers.
We need a striker. You want a proven player then you pay proven prices e.g. Duran at over 60mil now. If he has showed the right attributes at 23 at this price isn't terrible and hopefully works out. He scores 15 next season he is worth 50mil instead. At some point you have to speculate to accumulate
Gonzo is reporting in c&h that we have it a stumbling block with the 30 million deal and I agree with other west ham channels we ain't getting anybody it's Sullivans way in January.

Agree! Prefer the option to buy rather than obligation , big chunk of change for a striker that may or may not adapt to the PL !
As far as I understand it Geo, all obligations to buy have caveats, otherwise you’d just sign the player with a deferred payment.

We spent more on Scamacca and Haller. I think he is more likely to succeed than either of them. I think hes worth the risk

As far as I can gather, he has been data analysed to fit the teams and Potter's preferred style of play. I just hope that if there is an obligation to buy then it should come with some substantial caveats to trigger that obligation.

We need a striker and 25 million is nothing to the money we wasted on strikers in the past. So what happens if he does really well and it’s only a straight loan and the cost doubles . At the end of the day every transfer is a risk
It’s my birthday Today , would be nice to get the deal over line as a present !
Happy birthday!
With these obligations to buy will we even have any money to spend in the summer
Doubt it...bet we can only buy if we sell
30m Euros is only 25m pounds, that’s squad player money
Pros: 22 years old! 25 million quid for a striker with Euro cup experience is not bad these days; he is physical and could deal with the PL. Cons: this season, he has netted three goals across all competitions, missing 19 big chances. In the league, he has scored once and missed 11 big chances. But as a good holder of the ball, perhaps he could be a good provider? Not sure, but beggars can't be choosers.
Who's the mystery ITK ? Hopefully he can get a new jumper if this proves right
We need a striker. You want a proven player then you pay proven prices e.g. Duran at over 60mil now. If he has showed the right attributes at 23 at this price isn't terrible and hopefully works out. He scores 15 next season he is worth 50mil instead. At some point you have to speculate to accumulate
I don’t like this we might as well dig him if we have an obligation I like the idea of an option with us being first priority
Gonzo is reporting in c&h that we have it a stumbling block with the 30 million deal and I agree with other west ham channels we ain't getting anybody it's Sullivans way in January.
I still think we sign at least one player on loan.
Nothings changed much from what I’ve discussed, imo anyway.
