Love to see Jay Silverheels in these!! What a treat! His voice is unmistakable. One of my favorites. (Frankly, I think Vi is her mother’s daughter…John should have taken Natchez up on his offer of an Apache maiden…) 🤣
Love westerns except for one point, the abject cruelty I see in every Western, first the huge spurs they wear, they're not necessary as I bet no one else even noticed them,so why wear them? as a prop they mean nothing if they are not noticed by movie goers and if they think they are noticed by Moviegoers why would they point out the cruelty that they are causing? it adds nothing to the plot? Second the Jaw breaking bits they use, I would be amazed if real cowboys of the time mistreated their horses so pointlessly, just watch how the horse throws it's head around and skid top a stop with the slightest touch of the reins, that indicates severe pain, then go and watch real cowboys working cattle, cutting out cattle etc, the cowboy doesn't even touch the reins let alone jag the horses head like in Hollywood Westerns, The bridles they use work like a fulcrum, the reins attached to the bottom and a chain that goes under the Jaw that is attached to the top of the fulcrum(the side bar that is attached to the bit that goes in the horses mouth) when the rider pulls on the reins attached to the bottom of the fulcrum it pulls the chain tight under the horse jaw, it can cause excruciating pain if the horse doesn't respond immediately...but they always do! I am NOT a dogooder, I just love animals, hence why I love Westerns in the first place but as I get older and more mature I see things I didn't notice as a kid, Not to mention trip wires to make a horse fall on cue would result in a lot of bad injuries and often death to the horse, they were treated like collateral damage but that's another story
Thank you walt Disney for the memorable westerns.

@@artcook1976 There are 16 episodes of Texas John Slaughter. They are labeled. Once you get to 16 you're done!
The best one Disney did was Gallagher though none of them compared to it
