I think thr album betrays the different feelings you get once you've broken up. Lick first you are angry, than sad etc. Which is why they describe different feelings in each song. And the beginning was indeed jennie singing

Hope Not portrays how they know their significant other is better off with someone else but even if that's so, they hope that person doesn't love that other one so much to the point where that person will forget them.
