    I honestly don't understand the hate this car gets. Everyone seems to be comparing this car to much of the others in the same class. Most of the other cars either have optional AWD for an extra $2k or don't have it at all. None of the other cars have the space this car has. None of the others have the gas mileage that this car gets. And the price is comparable to those other cars. With another manufacturer you're really looking at a higher price tag and worse gas mileage with less space. We have a 2000 Legacy and we've had that car drive through a good 8 inches of snow to get out of a driveway with no problem at all. Attempt to do that with another car and all you'll get done doing is spinning wheels. Then there's the argument of "this car isn't fun to drive". It's a Subaru Legacy. It's not supposed to be a "fun" car to drive. This car is a practical car. That's like saying a mini van isn't fun to drive but a Ferrari is but yet you have a spouse and 4 kids to haul everywhere you go. Which one or you going to buy? If you want something fun to buy go to a different class. This class is for practicality.

    Subaru has really upped their game with interior quality and wind noise reduction. Sitting in my 90's Impreza and going to sit in the new impreza makes the old model look like the interior was done by playskool. Getting rid of the pillarless windows was probably for wind noise, which is substantial in older models, will miss those old style doors though.

    i had an '88 Justy for 10 years, just FWD, could chirp the tires in the first 3 gears, loved that car, sold it and drove a '98 metro for 10 years, now have a 3 cylinder smart for 7 years. loved that justy, no alarms, bells or whistles (or air bags). wish i could get another new '88 Justy, a really simple car, small and fun to drive.

    Subaru Legacy's are about weather. When the weather is dry, the Fusion and Honda's are much funner to drive. Where the Subaru's shine are when you need to take off from a stop at an intersection the weather turns bad - wet, slick partially melted ice or full snow. FWD will either slip or have real issues compared to a Subaru. If you haven't driven one in the slick weather, then you don't know what your missing. I have driven Subaru's in Indiana (in the town they are produced) and they just don't loose traction like FWD in weather. The boxer engines with 200K miles are very common and pure like a kitten.

      Just test drove this exact same Legacy today.
      It snowed for the second time this winter. And it was the slush and sleet type.
      On my way to the dealership, me and my Uber driver literally saw an Ultima that flew off the highway into the woods, and a fancy Benz that spun out and hit the guardrail.
      When they pulled out the car, they gave me full privacy to look at it myself. Looked completely underneath and the bearings for rust. Checked out all of the buttons and signal buttons, plus wipers. Even the gas button. Some of them like the passenger window and front hood button didn’t work because the car literally was covered in a thick layer of ice.
      But after checking it out and the only thing was the battery being corroded, I test drove it.
      Lemme tell you. The roads weren’t clear at all. The only clear part to drive was in the tracks of a previous car if that makes sense.
      I saw other cars driving slow like 30mph at most, and I literally *gassed* the *shit* out of it and did my best to push it to its limit (don’t know the real issues until you really drive it) and lemme tell you….
      The guy next to me, was so calm. The entire time.
      And I was going at least 45-50mph around a giant circle, twice. And did not swerve. It felt so smooth. Like there wasn’t even snow on the ground. 😊❤

    Does anyone know if the V6 3.6 is significantly better to own than a four-cylinder 2.5i? I cannot workout why the 3.6 is necessary. Is the 3.6 better for mountain driving or driving with people or what?

    Just got the 2016 2.5 limited. Honestly the only thing I hate is the CVT but slap it into manual with paddle shifters and it's pretty fun. Obviously not much horsepower to play with tho

    As a car dealer who has been in the industry for 6 years, I recommend getting the 2015 Hyundai Sonata, 2015 Volkswagen Passat or 2015 Mazda 6 over the 2015 Subaru Legacy.
    The 2015 Subaru Legacy uses faulty Takata airbags which have killed 6 people in the US and injured thousands others. Also the numb steering on 2015 Subaru's seems to be a major problem.

      I thought this didn't affect 2015 Subaru Legacys. Subaru states that they are only recalling Subaru Legacys up to 2014.

    You know why US-Spec Legacy's have a different centre console and gear stick than what we have here in Australia?? Its the same CVT but our gear shifter looks more like a manual shifter and the cupholders are both side by side close to the centre arm rest.

    Push Button Start should be standard. The exterior needs an emergency refresh. 27 MPG Combined is MEH. You are suppose to get 30, ehhh I dunno about that.

    • @jimmygangster
      @jimmygangster 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ivan Vojt that's combined for the V6 model. It's 30 combined in the 4 cylinder.

    Subaru needed something more game changing in this hotly contested segment. The front looks exactly like the new Sonata.

    • @Xaluber

      I think what they've done is working just fine for them. The new 2015 Outbacks and Legacy's are selling like hot cakes. They literally cannot build enough of them (I live near the factory and my father works there), and they've had sales records month after month.

    • @eventis7
      @eventis7 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      CJRhoades Love the car, but, "hotcakes"? In my neck of the woods, (Chicago) they are still forced to give significant
      discounts to move them off of the lots. The good news: I will be a proud owner of the 2015 Legacy come Spring.

    • @Xaluber
      @Xaluber 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      eventis7 Yes, hotcakes. Maybe not compared to Toyota or Honda but compared to themselves just a few years ago their sales are through the roof. The production lines at the factory are maxed out and they've been working 50-60 hour weeks to attempt to keep up with demands.

    I have driven a new legacy and you say it's fun to drive? Are you serious? Have you driven an Accord or Ford Fusion. Those cars are much more enjoyable to drive than the Legacy. The legacys driving dynamics are mediocre at best.

    • @occamsrazor6613
      @occamsrazor6613 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep you're right. I see a lot of senior citizens burning rubber, and having a lot of fun driving those Honda Accords, especially with the new CVT's.

    • @DevPack
      @DevPack 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      o yea..I see a lot of other people burning rubber and having fun in their Honda Accord coupe v6 with a 6sp manual. Also dont forget the 3.5L engine with 278hp.

    • @occamsrazor6613
      @occamsrazor6613 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      DevPack I agree that the Accord V6, is a different beast with the manual transmission. PS If they could somehow get rid of the torque steer, it would be the perfect car for me.

    • @jimmygangster
      @jimmygangster 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +DevPack No AWD in the Accord there for shit in winter weather. I sat in a Fusion literally today, and as long as you're legs are as skinny as pencils you'll be ok. There is literally no leg room for even the driver. Then the Taurus I also sat in, the center console of the car is so fucking wide you're nearly sitting on it. All of the other cars have far worse gas milage over the Legacy. I drove one today, it had plenty of room to go around. It got on it when I give it gas, didn't hesitate while shifting. I took it on a 10 mile test ride and it was enjoyable and I'm not some 70 old lady. I literally just turned 20. This car has more bang for it's buck over everything else there is in the market. I couldn't give a fuck about how "fun" a car is to drive. I don't go out for sunday strolls through the mountains just to get my dick hard. I'm a normal person, to and from work, and out and about to places I need to go. It has the AWD I need for the weather where I live, it has the room I need being 6'1" and 320 pounds. It has the get up I need. It has the gas milage that will help clog the ever burning hole in my wallet. If I wanted a car that was "fun" to drive. I would go and buy myself a toy, a sports car, camaro, corvette, etc. This car is meant for practicality.

    • @DevPack
      @DevPack 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i dont think you would fit in a camaro or corvette or any other sports car.

      UltimateDriver If you can live with the steering- which is fine, and the design which I think doesn't look half bad (no "make it look like a spaceship!!") this is a great car. Maybe biased cos I bought one, but damned if it isn't perfect so far. At least for my purposes, lol
