Oh my gosh! I have no idea who you are....but I am so thrilled that I have found your channel. For YEARS I have been trying to 'understand' how to crochet. I can knit no problem. But for some reason, crochet has confused the heck out of me. I am only half way through this tutorial and all of a sudden this has clicked for me. You are such a great instructor! Your voice is wonderful....and I totally enjoy listening to you talk and walk us through this. I cannot wait to go grab some yarn and try to do this. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach this. I will be pouring over all of your videos now! Thank you again.

I love this technique! I am also a big fan of Log Cabin Quilts. This concept would work well as a Log Cabin Crocheted Afghan! Thanks for the idea!
*After reading the other comments, I see I wasn't the only one with the same idea! Come on, Spider! Give us a lapghan or Afghan tutorial! You have a "web of intrigue"!

The way the colors but up together reminds me of a log cabin quilt. I can also see this as a poncho. Make 2 and seam the sides and top leaving openings for arms and head. Very nice tutorial. I always learn something new when I click on your videos.

Love it so much! I have a Granny Square Shawl started in variegated yarn, red, white, and green. Just last week I ordered yarn in those colors and though I would (possibly) make stripes of the different colors. I just happened to come across this this and you convinced me it is not a strange idea. But I like your way better than my idea.AND you are using my favorite colors! Thank you for showing me this, I was getting bored but now that I think of all the color combinations - WOW!

I commented two years ago saying I was making this a prayer shawl for my young friend who had ovarian cancer. Unfortunately she recently lost her fight to the disease. Now I'm wondering if there's a way this could be made into a square or rectangle as I'd love to make it into a blanket. I see that several others have asked the same question. I have seen some of your videos whereyou have made a change in pattern because of viewer request and I would love if you could do that with this one.I love the pattern

Hi Fiber Spider. I just love this design! The granny square is the first design my grandma taught me, way back in the 70's. Grandma hated to be called granny though. One time I thought she was going to yank a friends ears off for calling her granny. Lol! Anyway, I'm totally going to do this! I've been trying to think of something quick and easy so I can knock out a few presents for Christmas for my mom and sisters. This is a great idea and simple to do. Kind of makes me wonder why I didn't think of it. Thanks for sharing your design.

This is really nice ... thanks !!! Where are you with the beautiful fall weather. I am in Texas. It's still pretty hot during the day but our mornings and evenings are kinda cool now. I love, love, love the granny square stitch as well. I just made a blanket for my niece and a yoga mat for myself. Most of the yarn was stash. My stash is just about busted now. It's a great feeling because I have become a minimalist and having too much of anything is ... well ... to much. But yarn will always be an exception ... LOL !!!

I love the look of this, but have enough shawls so I wanted to figure this out (if I could...lol) Took a minute or two but it does work up nicely (so far) as a throw or lapghan. Started out with a square instead of a triangle.
