The “fixin’ to” cracked me up lol. I have never heard anything more true about the state of Tennessee 😂 My fiancé from up north often pokes fun at me for saying it
This is the best list of words used commonly in our state. Many cringe when they hear these words used, but those of us in the Volunteer State who are proud of our heritage not only recognize every word he lists here, but will still get caught using them on occasion. This reminds my of Jeff Foxworthy's joke. Jeet yet? No, Joo? No, yawnt to? A'right.
I recognize many of these words that my grandma, from Oklahoma used to say. A few my mom says and even one or two I say! I’ve lived in California for almost 60 years! We’ll be retiring to Tennessee in a few years!
Love it! A few of the words are multi-regional. Crick, for example, is also said in the Midwest. Look me up when you get ready to retire in Tennessee. Thanks for commenting!
I’m sorry you feel that way. My California clients are great, freedom loving people, who want to enjoy all the benefits of living in our beautiful state.

Thanks so much for your comment! I can recall my great-grandmother and grandmother (mom's side) using a lot of these words and many more!
Love this!
Thank you, Silvia!

I always thought you'uns was used if you were referring to 2 people and y'all if it was 3 or more.
I have less than 25 words. No more California invaders
