I remember you! I was there when I was 16! I remember walking by and ignoring you per my programming. I heard you say you were never a Jehovah's Witness and thought to myself 'that IS kinda wierd that we're treating him like he's disfellowshipped'. Good for you! My nephew who used to be a gung-ho JW in his teenage years finally woke up. Got married, had a family. His daughter just graduated high school and went into the Marines!

On the 26th of December they rang every doorbell in my home with a persistence that forced us to come out. When I arrived at my door I made it very clear that everyone within the building was a practicing catholic. When I walked away they continued to ring all the doorbells and once again they were told by a different neighbor that we were practicing catholics and were in the midst of celebrating with family and friends. They still continued to ring the doorbells 😂😂😂😂. Then when we told them to have a merry Christmas they gave us their backs and walked away 😂😂😂😂😂. I thought that the behavior was not appropriate and very uncomfortable . No regards whatsoever to others . Even on Thanksgiving day they troll the neighborhood 😂😂😂

As a former witness this is appalling. So many things wrong with their actions. Actions speak louder than words. Maybe after all.of their spiritual food on Sunday they may act more like Jesus. But I seriously doubt that.
This is really, really sad to me. I have been doing a "Bible study" with a nice JW lady (2 years ago I left the LDS cult after learning that it was Brigham Young who introduced polygamy and pinned it on Joseph, who actually FOUGHT against polygamy as an abomination). I have enjoyed our Bible study, as I have been trying to understand what it is that the JWs believe. Seeing things like this makes me realize they are even more of a cult than the LDS! Outside of their (LDS) General Conferences there are always street preachers protesting and holding signs, and most members also ignore them, but not quite like this! They avoid them for being "anti-Mormon", but I think some of what we are seeing is what is known as mob-mentality. They are afraid/embarrased to be seen talking to these people because others might think that they are apostates. IF they had the TRUTH they would not be afraid to talk to anyone. Truth fears no investigation. I would never join a group masquerading as a church that ignores people like this. Jesus would not and DID NOT shun....

I am Mormon (NOT a Brighamite LDS member, though), and for the most part you are correct. They (LDS) don't ignore quite like this... I differentiate because LDS and Mormon are not the same thing... it can be confusing because there are over 100 congregations that claim Joseph as their founder and that accept the Book of Mormon as scripture. The Brighamite branch is just the largest and the most wealthy of the different groups. I left that cult 2 years ago after learning that Brigham was an impostor and changed things 180 degrees, including adding polygamy. Joseph taught only monogamy and excommunicated unrepentant polygamist for that abomination. I was a 7th generation LDS, sadly my ancestors were deceived and followed Brigham to Utah.
If they imitate that Jesus they would have stopped and spoken to you and glorify in his name. I guess the truth doesn’t matter to Jehovah witness. Clearly it says in all the Bible Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Never been that Jehovah witness nor have I been a saint, but a sinner. I’ve been in their kingdom halls after three weeks. I started to realize how phony they were, but very mind manipulating. Was there a period in the mid-1970s when the shunning got a little less strict? I ask because I was a JW when I was 13-14. At that time, I was told that you could sometimes at least say hello or engage with caution if the person was a family member or someone very close to you. But perhaps I was incorrectly instructed, or I just imagined it. I will say this, it was just that sort of thing that made my acne filled face look in the mirror and say, "No, I don't think I can be in this religion any more."
That's hilarious. I have no idea what they're afraid of, and years ago I was involved with them. Here is how I would have answered that question: "Do I imitate Jesus? Well, I certainly try because the Bible tells us to do that." I don't understand their hangup.

Truth is, people who stand outside conventions are usually confrontational!! When JWs knock on people’s doors they are respectful, looking for what Jesus referred to as sheeplike ones! Not people who have no desire to serve God! People have a choice of listening, or politely saying, “I am not interested, thank you”. Simple!

I am Mormon (NOT a Brighamite LDS member, though), and for the most part you are correct. They (LDS) don't ignore quite like this... I differentiate because LDS and Mormon are not the same thing... it can be confusing because there are over 100 congregations that claim Joseph as their founder and that accept the Book of Mormon as scripture. The Brighamite branch is just the largest and the most wealthy of the different groups. I left that cult 2 years ago after learning that Brigham was an impostor and changed things 180 degrees, including adding polygamy. Joseph taught only monogamy and excommunicated unrepentant polygamist for that abomination. I was a 7th generation LDS, sadly my ancestors were deceived and followed Brigham to Utah.

Was there a period in the mid-1970s when the shunning got a little less strict? I ask because I was a JW when I was 13-14. At that time, I was told that you could sometimes at least say hello or engage with caution if the person was a family member or someone very close to you. But perhaps I was incorrectly instructed, or I just imagined it. I will say this, it was just that sort of thing that made my acne filled face look in the mirror and say, "No, I don't think I can be in this religion any more."

How do you get 3 NIGHTS from Friday to Sunday? You have Friday NIGHT and Saturday NIGHT. That is clearly only 2 NIGHTS. How do you fit 3 nights into the Watchtower’s twisted maths timeline?
The definition of a night according to Google - The period from sunset to sunrise in each twenty-four hours.
Ephesians 4:14 - So we should no longer be children, tossed about as by waves and carried here and there by every wind of teaching by means of the trickery of men, by means of cunning in deceptive schemes.

Where did he find them? They were behind locked doors “for fear of the Jews.” Understandably, they were anxious, fearful. But Jesus said: “May you have peace.” (John 20:19-21, 26) Later, strengthened by holy spirit, they fared well. They boldly tackled their preaching assignment, helping many to attain godly peace.
The fact that the Watchtower is saying that Jesus died on Friday Nisan 14 and was resurrected on Sunday, Nisan 16 is clearly a false teaching and against what it says at Matthew 12:40, that Jesus would be in the grave 3 days and 3 NIGHTS. There are clearly only 2 nights from Friday to early Sunday morning. If the Watchtower can't understand simple maths, then what about their calculation for 1914 and the 2,520 years from 607 BCE when the Watchtower say that Jerusalem was destroyed?
