We prune a MATURE peach tree, and prune a YOUNG and POTTED peach tree. We show a well-pruned pear tree. Pruned branches hold fruit better. And, can you grow peach tree from seed? Yes, about 75% of our peach seeds germinated! However, you’ll likely not get the same fruit (called, “true to seed”).
Have you ever tried air pruning fruit tree roots? Based off of Dr. Whitcombs research? I'm trying it now with Tillamook and Sweet Scarlets and getting really vigorous growth.
I need help hopefully this video will be what I need!😊 I bought a house in Ky 3 years ago that already has 2 pretty tall peach trees. I thinned out some of the branches but didnt want to overdo it but its obviously never been trimmed or shaped.the first year then it wasn't long after there was a large black winged insect all over the tree & ruined all the peaches. I had shoulder surgery last summer so here we are to today.
You could do some work in stages. Now, in May, the growing season started and you could prune-away larger, tall limbs. You should see the tree leaf-out below the cut and grow well this yr. My Mom "terrorizes" :/ her peach tree -- prunes the HECK out of it -- and it keeps producing huge volumes of fruit on the few limbs Mom didn't cut-off. oh Ma! (she doesn't like all the fruit on the ground....). Anywho, prune-away. The tree in this vid is doing great! Thanks for stopping by and plz subscribe!

I have not tried air pruning roots. Wouldn't that be the root stock on a grafted fruiting plant?

When is it best to prune? I live in Ky
When the tree is dormant is best; however, Peach trees care robust and will tolerate a prune at any time. Thanks for stopping by Okie!
I have a Peachtree on the land I just bought. No one ever pruned it. Has lots of fruits.
