    I use vectors INSIDE of Photoshop.... so I really don't need Illustrator. I don't think a lot of people are familiar with the Vector image capabilities within Photoshop. Like you said, pixels are alright for cellphones and such, but posters, T-shirts, even business cards, they all need vectors. Pixelation is never a good thing.

    • @shaikhparas9012
      @shaikhparas9012 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can u plz send any tutor link that could explain how to work on vector inside photshop

    • @MaximRecoil
      @MaximRecoil 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      "but posters, T-shirts, even business cards, they all need vectors."
      No, they don't. Vector files inherently get rasterized before they can be output, so all posters, T-shirts, business cards, etc., that were printed from a vector file were actually printed from a raster file, because as soon as they were output from the computer to e.g., an inkjet printer, a laser printer, a computer-to-screen or computer-to-plate device, they were rasterized, because all of those work on a grid system. For example, if you draw something in Illustrator and send it to a 600 DPI laser printer, the laser printer's software has to rasterize it before it can print it, i.e., it will convert it to a 600 PPI raster image at the specified print size. Had you originally designed it as a 600 PPI raster image at that particular print size, the results would be exactly the same, obviously.
      There are some advantages to designing with vectors, but they have nothing to do with print quality, because it's 100% impossible for a vector file to make it to print without being rasterized first.
      "Pixelation is never a good thing."
      Then you need to ditch designing on a computer altogether and go back to designing with an actual pencil, pen, paint brush, etc., and, e.g., make the film positives for screens or printing plates using a stat camera with photographic film. Or you could carve some wood for woodblock printing or hand-cut stencils out of paper for screen printing, because you get pixels no matter what when designing on a computer, during the output stage. Fortunately, the pixelation isn't visible to the naked eye if the PPI is sufficiently high.

    To sum it up:- if you are doing simple text/shapes that doesn't require shading and contrast then illustrator
    But if you want to print anime or real photo of someone you go with photoshop(preferable now a days cos everyone wants a flashy vivid looking shirts....

    Hello Amigo,
    When I first started my business in printing apparel, I did not have a clue which software to use. I ended up buying CorelDraw x 4 and now I'm pretty good at using it but not the best when it comes to turning a JPG file to a vector file. I find CorelDraw isn't the best to use for vectorizing a file so how hard is it to learn illustrator compared to CorelDraw?

I also use accurip software for my printer to print half tones. photoshop chanel seps andcolor channels. ilustrator is what designers use in screenprinting if they know whats up.
