Present day, February 2024. You were right, a week after Charlie was found guilty, Donna tried to flee to Vietnam and was arrested at the Miami airport. Now, she’s currently sitting in jail awaiting trial. Wendi next!! 👏🏼

I come from a family of criminal sociopaths (no idea how I didn’t end up one myself except that life always looked awful to me) and what fascinates me is that Charlie did this for his sister and nephews… but not out of love but as a way to prove he was the kind of man who is capable of being ruthless. I suspect Wendi worked on him, along with their mom (not sure if the dad was part of it on the same level?) in a way that would make me feel sorry for him except I think this was thrilling for him. Dan did not deserve this but his own arrogance and ruthlessness (and frankly, bigoted tribalism) gave the Adelsons the fuel to justify their malicious plan.
Outstanding opening. The whole adelson family was in on the hit, IMHO. charlie needs to be locked up for life, no parole.
The "bump" scheme, with the fake blackmailer, is outstanding- taping the 2 of them in the cafe was equally great police work-

This case was over about halfway through this opening statement. That was masterful.
I’ve gotten the distinct impression that each case and trial is a set up for the next. This prosecutor is genius! She keeps calling Charlie “this defendant”, not “the defendant”, just so we know there are more to come.
They did this perfectly. I know it took a long time but damn they got them.

The opening statement was spot on. They could have drop the microphone and walked away and still won. The evidence stood on itself. The defense attorney made easy money on this client.
I love how police were able to find these phone numbers and track them to people in Miami. And thank God for the neighbor looking out of his window and seeing the Prius. “The Adelson Institute” is worse than the mob.

I'm very happy with the job this prosecuting attorney did during her opening statement. She methodically laid out the state's case against Charlie. Can't wait to see Georgia have her chance. This truly a great team. One that can insure justice is served.

I think the Adelsons are miserable and high-drama by nature. They view themselves as exceptional. Making the leap to contract an actual killing just points to a collective trait of narcissism.
Let's hope the old nurture vs nature question weighs in favor of genes in case of Dan's sons.

This is almost ten years after the murder. If the killer and the ex wife just waited ten years the children would be young adults and no custody battle. Just stay put until kids are grown or old enough to say they want to stay with their mother or father. What’s so hard about that? Especially since it doesn’t seem like she was suffering at all.

Her brother will have to throw her under the bus. For now there's nothing connecting her to the crime except that it was done for benefit. The state must prove that that she solicited help to murder her ex-husband.
No evidence against her unless Charlie flips. They need this conviction to do it.

But she said a LOT in her initial interview that could point to it. She was seen to be driving by the crime scene right after it happened which indicates a knowledge of it happening. There is evidence and reason to believe that she was trying to help time the murder at the time Jeff Lacasse, her boyfriend at the time, would be driving through tallahassee so he could be framed. etcetera. There is a lot on Wendi but maybe very circumstantial or speculative. Hard evidence on her is more difficult than Charlie, I agree.

The Prosecutor provided an excellent account of the time line events which leaves no doubt of how the crime was committed and who the “actors” or players were! Good job!
Once Wendi is in jail awaiting her own trial and Donna is in prison, the Markel Grandparents will have the kids all to themselves finally. That is sort of poetic justice for Dan.
I think it's incredibly telling how Donna says "this TV is about 5" because Wendi mentions how Charlie bought her a tv and says "I was looking into buying you a hitman but that was too expensive so I got you this tv instead". Bingo.
Wendy Adelson is the one who really bothers me. She is one selfish woman. Dan would still be alive had he never met Wendy Adelson. I feel so sorry for Dan, his parents, and Dan’s boys are the real victims of this conspiracy.

I totally believe Wendi's self made tv/hitman "joke" is going to be her undoing. There's no evidence shown that Charlie made that hitman "joke" to anyone other than Wendi..and thats because it was concocted by Wendi just in case it came back to her... However, not only does it demonstrate her prior knowledge since Dan was killed by a hitman, but the tv proven to be her alibi indicates her involvement in the planning.
Think about it this way: if she can easily throw her family under the bus and potentially lock them away for life for a murder they apparently didn't commit, which we now know isn't true, could this same person be capable of conspiring to kill someone that she ultimately wanted rid of?

The reason we're here today is because... they say family is everything.
A family who commits the crime together deserves to do the time together.
Wendi & Donna sent Charlie. Harvey knew all along. Charlie sent Katie. Katie sent Sigfredo. Like Dan, Sig was a father who fell for a diabolical woman but took Dan's life and is now doing life.
Now, Charlie faces life in prison.

Unlike Dan's family, none of Charlie's family members showed up to support him because Donna & Harvey planned on pleading the 5th - HIS OWN FAWKING PARENTS, mind you... Wendi only showed up to testify to try to save her own arse because all four culprits are GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY.
I was SO relieved to find out the Jury got it right. They did a fabulous job.

Ooh, I remember back when this happened! Right away her brother was the lead suspect! It just took time and good investigative skills to finally hold him accountable. It's sad because there really aren't any winners! Those kids, now 13 and 14 are old enough to decide which parent they want to live with. This murder was pointless and selfish in the big scheme of things. My father meant the world to me! Those kids should have their loving father now!! Wendi did not leave the Adelson to cleave to Dan. It was a foundational issue. The custody challenge was only the last straw that shattered the unwholesome conjugal relationship. Dan's blood is crying from the ground like Abel's seeking for vengeance. The Alderson, I feel, has murdered sleep and they shall sleep no more. It would have been a win-win situation if Dan had not been murdered. R.I.P Dan and ensure all that led to your untimely death are severely punished.
