Expedition Overland was the very first off-roading/overland/4x4 channel that I followed. I loved their earlier low-budget videos that were more realistic. But now they have been producing high budget but boring videos. It seems that they spent so much money in their company, but their followers are only in the 200K range. Trail Recon however has almost 500K followers now! Trail Recon’s videos are very simple, realistic, effective and I watch them from start to finish! Kudos to Brad. A humble storyteller and seems like a great guy.
Brad, your attention to detail that early in the morning makes you one of those campers that has to be invited to return on adventures! You were so quiet talking and then as equally quiet preparing coffee! It was like we were there! So good to capture that! You do an amazing job capturing those quiet, magical morning moments!
All of you are so lucky to do all of this together. I was stationed in Fallon Nevada back in 69 to 70. I sure do love the West. I live down south. What a dump.
Doc watching Jordan sleep on the ground, gave me the aches and pains and a few flashbacks LOL !!! I do not miss that part of Corps that is for sure ! We didn't have all these fancy kits these youngins got now either a canvas shelterhalf and a down sleeping bag with a IsoMat talk about creature comforts those were on good days !!! What a epic little getaway Thanks for sharing it Doc ! Semper Fi and have a Merry Christmas
Great vid, but what really struck me was the friendship and comradery portayed. There was nothing forced or done up for TH-cam. It was genuine and heartfelt and this was a wonderful vid. Thank you for sharing
That's the best part of you all making vids together.... you show something that Epic family road trip missed. now we see almost the whole picture. Very good!
seriously what a legend Marco is he's always happy to be happy what a guy !!! and thanks for bringen us along with you guys ...i think when good people come together doing what they love then it shines through to us all inspiring us to hit the trails and enjoy what life is about no matter where you live or what you doing , thanks again, and steak for breakfast why not Freedom to do what ya want when you want so gooooooooooooood !!!!!
My favorite part of all your vides have always been the COFFEE MAKING & COOKING!!! Always find myself cheating by scrolling through the whole video looking for these parts!
"Yeah, you've been there, you just don't remember." I get that all too often from my wife too! And yeah, I get the "other wife" comment as well. Great stuff Brad.
I found myself canceling cable tv and instead consuming videos like this for my entertainment. I really enjoy the authenticity and the way you tell the stories of your adventures. Mahalos for the great content!
The highlight of this expedition is nothing but the presence of a gem of a guy by the name "Marco". He is the kind every one wants to be in their gang for long journeys !
trailrecon is one of most loved channel to watch, but I also follow epic family road trip .they are just as great 👍🏼..well in totality thisvideo was awesome to see so many members togeather...love you all
It's always amazing how much better food smells and tastes while out camping. Not to mention the fresh brewed coffee before everyone gets up. Merry Christmas
Your JL and trailer is a great setup, but man your JK on 39s on those beefy dynatrac axles really takes the cake, the thing is so dialed! Great video brother!
2:34 Who is that rolling around in the dark ... I bet it's Jordan. I'm quoting the movie Django Unchained: "Who is that stumbling around in the dark ..." 5:53 So it was Jordan ... !!!! Oh, he is in the Corps ... didn't know that. Thumbsup. A marine son and a master chief father.
Jordan is actually a Sailor and a Hospital Corpsman, just like dad and mom.⚓ He's currently assigned to the Marines, since the Navy provides all their medical care. 😊
@@regenakowitz Wow, a reply from Regena herself. Thanks for the correction. All personnel in any branch are worthy. I'm a South African, my father was in the SA Air Force.
@@Chris.starfleet We love our Marines! ❤Hospital Corpsman have a pretty special relationship with the Marines we care for and serve with. But...we are also very proud of serving in the U.S. Navy. Thank you for watching!😁
Fantastic videos👍 For me you are living a dream. And in this difficult times when everybody is tired of corona, your pictures are showing a beautiful world and an escape of the normal days. I‘d like to say thank you- it feels like I am with you on your journey. The Wrangler is my favourite dream car. Best wishes from Germany👋🏻
Anza Borrego desert was my old stomping grounds. I sure do wish I was out there with all of you. I used to cook on charter boats and really enjoy your cooking segments as well as the overlanding.
Great camera work and background music is very well thought of! I love that you also capture the things that may not go right. Great video Brad!!! Also great to see the family together!!!
I really love watching things like opening the camp stove, filling the coffee pot. Man, pouring that coffee had me on the edge of my seat! Making breakfast is an essential chapter too. Other than that the video shows too much silly trail riding. The music going down the trail lends an air of inspiration. Were you in the state park? You might want to remember one of their regs: "Animals must be on a leash.....". Don't let them see the video. The hot dog idea was awesome! Can't get enough of the cooking. Then there's the evening around the campfire. You should do an entire video on filming coffee. Again, the background music creating such an inspirational atmosphere!
I appreciate your comments, but just one thing, this is TrailRecon, I film vehicles and try and show the trail terrain, sorry you felt it was silly, but that's what I do here.
Nice trip. Classic that Marko bust out the Julian Pie for breakfast oooh I miss those pies. Happy New Years. Love your channel and adventures. Looking forward to many more in 2022.
I feel like I’m watching an episode of “Terrible Herbst meets The Galloping Gourmet”. Awesome off road adventure, cool rides, mixed in with fine dining out in the middle of nowhere,,,, It doesn’t get much better than that 😀😋👍! ! !
Brad...that first cup of coffee in the morning is always the best thing of the day...Happy Holidays to you and your family. Are both of your boys in the Marines or is one Marines and one in the Navy. Either way please thank them for their service for me as well as you and Regina thank you for your service.
You should bring along a carpenter's plumb line to show how steep some of these grades are! A wide-angle lens tends to flatten out the look of unusual terrain.
I can't wait to hopefully go on an adventure with a cool group of people like this one day. The food looked amazing (minus the blue cheese) but with Marco and Jason it always does. Merry Christmas to you and the family!
So, Brad is winded... and Regena just keeps on truckin'. (LOL) Love the convoy shots, they are always interesting to me. As for the pie.... well I saw in Marco's video the onslaught... and now the demolition for breakfast. Great breakfast. Thanks for the video, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Until the next trip/video/Coffee-One-Take..... Travel Safe.
I can’t thank you enough for this content while I’m laid up and can’t even drive my Bronco. You’re managing to keep me very pumped up and excited for my next adventure.
Nice , I've been all over that area but most people like me that grew up in east county (El Cajon , Santee , Lakeside) back in the 60's and 70's know that area pretty well also . Love seeing it again especially since I retired to Washington a couple years ago and miss the desert and the mountains in Southern California . It's nice seeing you out with Epic Family Road Trip and their boys Adventure Guys , if I were to run with anyone I would want it to be one of you . I'm a little to lazy to be a TH-camr though , last summer I went through 26 states and I had everything you would need to do a video of the whole thing but I think I got maybe 30 minutes in total LOL I'm just way to busy living the experience and lazy to make the effort to document it . I'm really glad there are people like yourselves that do make the effort though . I will be passing through that area in a month or so when I head for south Texas for the SpaceX launch and will likely camp somewhere in the desert between Dunaway Rd. and Yuma , yeah lots of room for flexibility but it's hard to say what time I will be there since I'm stopping off a few places down there in north county to see friends .
I was the first LIKE!!!!!!!! Brad, I have a 2014 Rubicon Unlimited and you have inspired me to have a new hobby. I am just getting started and have learned so much from all of your videos. Keep up the good work! Safe travels from a WV LEO!
I just enjoy the content Brad your so humble and kind and your absolute passion for the outdoors When I’m able to build a rig I would love to join you guys on an adventure. The group seems so kind… again I love the content😁

Just saw the plate on the trailer is from OK but also wanted to thank you for your career. Would like to see what you guys carry for medical emergencies and how what you carry may vary from what someone like Marco carries. Another video on treating medical emergencies, allergic reactions in the "field", and how to prepare based on all the military and trail experience.
@@TrailRecon I've watched. Good stuff and not only enjoyable, but important. As an Army medic, I love seeing the civilian application of medical planning and your experience and perspective is much different than non-medical trail dudes. Now if only I can get my CJ5 trail ready. :)

2 completely different mission. One is about adventure and having fun.
The other is about big expeditions and experiences.

For 2022 can we stop using the word “collaborate”? Maybe we can say “work together” instead? Asking for a friend.
