Thanks for the shoutout Jake. You and my friend who suggested hair systems to me are the 2 reasons I took the leap. From there, I got to know the community and posted my journey as it went. Once he suggested I look into it, I googled it, your channel came up. And here I am. Cheers man
That curly fringe style is PERFECT for me. My hair is naturally curly, the style is very “in” right now, and it’s so low maintenance and easy to style. Love it!
I'm getting a hair system for the first time in a couple weeks. Glad to find this video because I need to go back to the salon with some idea of the style I want, and this gives me several ideas. There really needs to be an app where you can pinpoint your hairline and try out some of these styles.
Hair styles are also dependent on your facial structure as well. As a novice to all this I find the unexposed hairline much less of a headache and less maintenance as you said, I don't have to worry if my hairline looks good or bad while I'm out and especially during the summer months. 90% or less is much easier to manage and looks much more natural than higher density systems, unless if you're in your teens of course.
One interesting thing about Phil from Hair4All is that he's actually had a (very conservative) hair transplant - he had the temple hair on the sides of his head transplanted. By using a few hundred hairs each side to restore the temples; it then enables you to wear a system with a lower hairline. This is EXACTLY how hair transplantation should be used IMO as most men will have enough donor hair for life to keep the temples restored enough to avoid the 'wide head' look.
I just got my hair system today. I'm from the Philippines and it's very hot in our country. So the most recommended hair system here is silk/lace base. I'm happy with the outcome although I'm getting the mushroom top and the lace on the hairline is noticeable when I swipe it up top. My hairdresser said that it's normal and I should style it to look unnoticeable.

I just got my unit today, size 7' x 9'. It felt kinda small for me when I placed over my head. Is it normal? I'm just wondering since it's not installed yet. Do you feel the same thing when you got yours?
Hello, please tell me what to do, my system is 4 months old, the mesh has become oily, the skin becomes greasy from the forehead to the back of the head, this was not the case before, the mesh became a little dirty and oily, how to wash it correctly? Finishing in shampoo does not help.
Can you have a hair system if you have a receding hairline and diffused thinning but still have most of your hair (early stage of hair loss) provided that you shave it down of course. (Similar to this lewigs.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/11-3-2-diffuse-thinning-LEWIGS.jpg). Don't want to use Finasteride due to side effects.
I didn't even know you could do a slightly longer buzz cut... You really can do anything you want with your hair... Being bald opens up some fun styles and opportunities that even people with don't get
Hey Jake, as you probably know I've been watching your videos for ages and periodically comment -- Just wanted to say nice video (As usual) and I had 1 other question. I'm a person who never really had hair on my temples to begin with. Even when I had a full head of hair and was far too young to be going bald, I never really had hair on my temples. With that said, I like how it looks. Is there any work arounds/ways to emulate hair on the temples with a hair system, even if you never really had it? Thanks for consistently posting, I still watch almost every one of them! Never stop what you do.
i mean you could try cutting some templates for your temples, and use hair systems... you could do a full cap... look up black women with lace wigs. many of the are full caps, but even their temples look amazing
i havent used one myself, but theres many many people who use full caps, there's a lot of content in the black women wig space of youtube. go check out some of that stuff!
@Jake Kent Here's a question you may not have gotten...what age would you consider to be too old to try Units?. I did wear one before, for about 10 years. Stopped in 2000 due to discoloration from well water. It was 80/20 grey/light brown. I was 47 at the time.
@@daveshairsystem5676 Hi Dave, Do you think it possible to cut the unit system hair with an actual blade? For example a home hair cutting system usually comes with 8 different number grades 1 to 8 with #8 being one inch length cut Do you think you could achieve a realistic crew cut with blade having one inch length on system hair?
The problem is, hair systems look their best after they've been fitted. But after a couple of washes they can suddenly become extremely hard to manage as the texture of the hair can change drastically. I'd love to see a version of this video that re-examines hairstyles a few weeks into wearing. I would wager a lot of these styles wouldn't look as good.
