Ever have a foam ball that doesn't have the North and/or South poles clearly marked?
Using a rough foam ball, with NO markings?
In this video, Ornament Girl Designer Monica shows you a trick for finding the North & South poles, and the Equator line, no matter what kind of ball you are working with... no measuring required!
All you'll need is a sharpie/pen, a few pins, and a piece of narrow ribbon about 1/8" wide (black or dark color GROSGRAIN recommended)!
A Quick Note: The foam balls provided in our Ornament Girls Kits (and the ones we sell in the OG Shop) DO have these markings, and you won't need to find them yourself:

Thanks so much for this! Able to use it to figure out cutting some Styrofoam for a brooch bouquet.

I find that using a rubber band which is about 1/8th of an inch wide is helpful when marking lines on the ball, it is easy to re-position and if you stretch it slightly when you lay it on the ball it will not slip.

Donna, we have our own brand! They are called Soft Foam, for that exact reason... They are nice and easy to push pins into! Here are all the different shapes we have: theornamentgirl.com/market/product-category/ornament-supplies/foam-shapes/
