    Thanks you saved me some peace of mind and got to see some mistakes the dealer made on the last oil change!
    However, on our XC60D5 I have used Mann Filter 719/8x which comes with a white o-ring that goes at the base of the thread on the oil filter receptacle. You are using the Mann 719/8y which has a different type of gasket that goes inside the cover. Are these filter gaskets interchangeable?

      @@centaurus5676 If we agree that we limit the following to the 5-cylinder D3 engine, D5204T7, I find it to be a great engine. What do you mean by problems? That you have to change oil at regular intervals or if you should do mains, big and small end bearings + turbo every 50k kilometers? People have quite differing views on what a problem is...

      @@persand1337 Thankyou! It was the 2.0 D3 with the 5 cylinder i was looking at and been warned away from the 2.0 Ford based one. Problems i meant was with swirl flaps and bad injectors, does auxillery belt ruin engine if it breaks? or are these problems mainly on D5 2.4. Also is the geartronic box better than powershift? Thankyou so much for the info in advance.

    • @persand1337
      @persand1337 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@centaurus5676 If I remember correctly, the D3 doesn't have swirl flaps and I haven't heard of bad injectors, but thats not to say that it won't happen. If unfortunate, the auxiliary belt could do the same thing. Concerning transmission, I have, being european, an M66 manual transmission and I have no experience with either transmission you mentioned. I know the other transmissions are convenient, but I still prefer the simplicity and durability of a stick shift.

    5w30?
    I have 0w40 in mine currently and it's much smoother and quiet on that oil.
    Trying different viscosities doesn't affect engines at all so I like to experiment it's only relevant under very cold conditions or when the engine is stressed a lot like a trackday with a racecar.
    5w30 or 0w30 is thin as water when its hot why would I put that in an old Diesel?
    Diesels don't care about thicker oil anyways gasoline engines yeah you feel it more they don't have the diesel torque
