Love how the exterior shots show the bad guy in a 2-door hardtop, while the interior shots show him in a completely different car altogether PLUS the car is a 4 door.
The 4 door car used for the interior shots of the orange 2 door Catalina🚘 was a 1967 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Custom 4 door hardtop. I bet it was the same black car that crashed into the Catalina at 3:30.
I picked up on that too, I wonder why they had to use the other car for the interior shots? So many continuity errors here, even the train he swerves to avoid is different - the first train has a Milwaukee Road engine on the first track, the second one has a two tone blue engine and it's three tracks over. But you can see they had done that crash once before, the Pontiac's quarter is damaged before the Olds hits it.
Wow! That's a hell of a sand rail! There was another cool one briefly in Double Nickels (1977). A good theme to Scorchy would be done to the tune of "Sunny" 1966. You should do some clips of 'Unholy Rollers' 1972. It's a pretty entertaining movie, not too bad, with an early performance by Claudia Jennings and a cool Petty Blue '72 Charger SE big block.
That is Connie Stevens, from the 50s to the 80s she was a big star, in Movies and TV, and she had some hit songs. Plus Eddie Fisher married her after he divorced Elizabeth Taylor.
Love all the FF-ing and the editing haha!!! Man, that Poncho was one TUFF lookin' rig......was. Was that the same rooftop used in a Charles Branson or a Dirty Harry flick???
I *love* the high speed chase scene editing! I think I'll watch all chase scene movies like this from now on! "OH, shit" she says, over and over... excellent editing!
@@Mavis308 I knew him when I was a teen and can attest to that fact. He was one of the strongest men I've ever met and at 40 something, he put me to shame as far as endurance went. He had the physical strength of a gymnast and then some. Truly a madman too, had some wild times at his ranch, lol. He'd drink and ball women all night long and wake up for a 10 mile run at 6am!!
The "engine noise" was totally overdubbed. Sounded nothing like the VW engine that was in the sandrail. : ( Edit- that chick was like an ex-wife coming after back child support.
She couldn’t hit him from 10 feet away, what made her think she could get him from 150 feet away? And what four-door car was used for the interior shots?
Little boy she went for the sand rail and said bright orange has Boss hog will call it clunker car I realize it's a 63 Catalina and not a 69 charger. Talk about not blending into traffic or being able to get away. But then the whole thing is to watch Connie Stevens which was the babe at the time Chase bad guys what else did you need other than good looking women and fast cars.? Sometimes a plot would be nice. Thanks for putting up this clip it was enjoyable
So realistic and sensible... How is it today's police have abandoned these proven methods? PS William Smith was a great actor and person, great to see this. 👍
'63 Catalina looked a lot like a later GTO. What was that, 348 ci? Yeah, I really believe she would have jumped into the water in her Gucci clothes at the end.
No, it's a 1963 Catalina, probably a clunker they bought somewhere, I am sure just a 2bbl 389 car. Probably lucky they didn't blow out the Slim Jim trans in it.
All burned up in a fire in California in the early 80s. Clean slate after that. Anyone really want that man-made flammable shit back? Less environmentally sound now. Caused lots of cancer and mental trauma. People got tired of matching their earth-toned refrigerators and affecting the (visual) ozone with all that polyester. Disco is dead.
I remember watching this when it came out, wanting to see my hometown. Also remember thinking wow this the worst movie ever. I think I remember seeing this at the old Aurora drive in. Sorry about the old Cat

I noticed the same thing!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Damn, you're right!
How beautiful the world was back then, no kia's etc
Me: I don't have 11 minutes to watch a 63 Catalina. Also me: "babe cop"? Ohh I have the time
Same, but it was “Sandrail” that got me.😊
yawn...
@@Surreyredneck
huh?
Exactly 😂
Cut and editing is brilliant and reminds me of the way I usually remember stories in movies. I focus on the important stuff and fast forward the rest.
Funny how EVERY ONE of the commandeered vehicles always has enough fuel to last through the chase AND has the keys in the ignition.

Came in to say the same, I knew it was a '67-8 GM full size 4 door hardtop before the Olds crashed into the Catalina, then I said, "And there it is."
@@realmaindrianpace Me too, though I thought the interior looked more Chev. to me, but you guys may have nailed it.

Old Funco class 1 car.Used to be top of the line.I had one back in the days
I like how the woman doesn’t even think to remove her coat to stop the guy burning alive. WTF.
I had to laugh thinking how could a washer blow up an catch the guy on fire..😝

Good choice. Connie Stevens seemed more down to earth and less vain than ET.

You could tell they were babying that sand rail. Not disposable like every other vehicle seemed to be.
4:31 is babying it huh?
Greg Evigan from B.J. and the Bear!
Bear was there too...Greg E was wearing him on his head in this movie.
Love the vintage tour of my city.
The interior shots of the Pontiac where clearly in a four door car
Haha YUP! It was I think a '67 or '68 Impala or Caprice 4dr. hdtp.
Certainly a full-size GM product of '65-'68, excluding Cadillacs, Buick Electras, & Oldsmobile 98s.
I think the real crime was painting it orange.
How does a gas can just randomly mini explode like that? lol
Micheal bay
Gee, all that and she can stunt-fly helicopters. Do they exist in real life, and if so, where do I sign?
Sounds like 80s music in the 70s LOL!!!!!!!
I got audio by switching to a different video, then going back to this video. I gotta admit, sandbars are excellent car chase vehicles!
Right on!

0:37...Why did she let that guy burn after the bad guy fled. She could have tried to extinguish the fire with her white Gucci jacket.
That was the start of the feminist movement
I like the way she holds the "joystick,"
William Smith could handle his transportation. Bikes cars trucks and he sure could have made that jump.
Hooray for this Bad Guy.
William Smith always prided himself in being in great shape to the day he died, you should read his bio.

Isn't the "bad guy" the one that stared in the movie with Clint Eastwood where they fought each other , "Any which way you can" ?
He was in a LOT of movies in that time period, I was just watching some movies this weekend and he starring in 3 of them, and he was never a good guy🙄
Best video yet!
Little known fact, I actually did the musical score for this movie on the Casio 32 key kids keyboard I got for Christmas.
"PRECISION ENGINE "Muito legal o bugue!😘

Seattle looked so different then!!
Fck I love this channel!!
Where do I look online to stream all the old school 60’s to 90’s car flix?
some good ol 70s high octane fun; these kind of chases won't be possible with all Electric Vehicles!
another good dune buggy / sandrail chase is in a 1985 film called LIGHT BLAST with Erik Estrada(Ponch from CHiPS)😃
Its like an episode of Police Woman. Funny stuff
Amazing
She couldn’t hit him from 10 feet away, what made her think she could get him from 150 feet away?

Possibly the black Olds they use to hit the Pontiac at the railroad crossing.
Silent movies in the 70s, interesting experience.
