    This is so cool because it can allow you create repeatable results. You can save the tone curves as presets, even creating curve presets that reflect changes made in other programs.
    The only change that I would suggest is adding the tone strip as an addition to the original image-as opposed to taking up part of the images bottom edge.

    Thanks Denny - your content is really excellent! Learning so much. I'm a big user of your presets - and they have provided a great starting point or in many cases a finishing touch to an image. Love your Lightroom Profiles (used from the basic panel) - hope you can create more of those - I tend to use them more than the presets. Cheers, Pete.

    Excellent tutorial on curves. I tried making an action, but on the next picture I opened & applied the action, the effect filled the whole picture & was vertical instead of horizontal. Guess I have a lot to learn on creation of actions. Would be indebted to a universal action

    So cool. I was wondering about matching in photoshop. Let’s say you have a treated image at the top of the file and the one at the base has no treatment but it’s the same image. How would you match with the curves?

    • @rigo.garcia
      @rigo.garcia 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Basically, you have only 2 layers in the file.

    Can this be done in lightroom?

    • @DennysTips
      @DennysTips  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's somewhat possible but unfortunately not in the same way. You can import a photo with a tone chart into Lightroom but that still requires Photoshop, Affinity Photo or some other image editor. I have a tutorial on it here: th-cam.com/video/yAoi1twUSvs/w-d-xo.html

    1)Is there any difference between the Tone Curves in lightroom and photoshop ? 2) Why do you prefer using the tone curves in photoshop rather than in lightroom? cheers

    • @DennysTips
      @DennysTips  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are some differences with the colors. Although I prefer using curves in Photoshop because it's less laggy, Photoshop was used in this video because this is a Photoshop technique.
      Here's the video tutorial for Lightroom: th-cam.com/video/yAoi1twUSvs/w-d-xo.html

    Does this work if the image is CMYK?

    • @DennysTips
      @DennysTips  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It'll work. The gradient will look a bit weird. Also, CMYK curves has a reversed chart (bottom-left is whites and top-right is blacks). But you will still be able to drag the tones up/down and get the colors you want.
