Learning objectives are one of the crucial parts of instruction. We need learning objectives that are clear to both teacher and the students to have a fully established outcome. Writing SMART learning objectives could served as our legend into instructions. Following the SMART learning objectives will make it easier for us to determine where to focus, what to teach and what instructional methods to use in order to meet the desired outcomes. It's like we had set everything like knowing what we should do, what we need to achieve and what approach we will use in order to achieve our goals instead of starting without a clear goal in mind. SMART learning objectives teach us that it is important to be prepared and focused on what kind of goals we are aiming from the start.

Students struggle to understand what they are supposed to learn in the absence of learning objectives. Learning goals should be used to keep track of students as they proceed through the course and to assess their progress. Outstanding learning goals guide students as they research resources and prepare for assessments. The SMART approach assists the educator in pushing farther, providing a feeling of direction, and assisting in the organization of his or her goals in the classroom. When teaching goals are SMART, they represent shifts rooted in a mastery mentality of ongoing development. Behaviors will become more real and long-lasting as a result of your efforts. Why do teachers need to write SMART objectives?
As said in the video “to start with the end in mind means to start with a clear understanding where you hope your student will end.” Learning objectives are crucial in creating plans for lesson discussion and curriculum, they serve as a guide in what to do to get the desired outcome. SMART objective provides that guideline for educators, as we know in creating an objective it must be learner center. In creating goals and objectives one must be specific, generalizing objects will only confuse an educator in creating specific action in attaining the goal in mind. As educators, we must make sure that the result can be measured providing feedback for both students and educators. Attainable and realistic, the objective must be aligned to their year level and the curriculum, it must make sure it is something a child can do. And lastly time-bound in creating a learning objective we must make sure that it is reached in a certain time frame. Having SMART objectives allows a better sense of focus in the lesson and goal. Making sure to have an appropriate lesson, and not going out of the topic, making sure that the discussion more effective and progressive.

Why do teachers need to write SMART objectives?

Why do teachers need to write SMART objectives?
SMART objectives are somewhat a 'compass' in teaching and learning process from the beginning up to the end; through those objectives everything is on the right place-well planned and have clear path to trace on.Teachers are oriented and directed how to align their instruction like creating class activities that foster learners' knowledge and skills. It helps educators focus and specify what intended to teach and assess.
Imagine being in a vast ocean without any guide or have blurry vision-the world is too hard to conquer; the ocean is too broad to create own ways, just like on teachers daily life in academic institutions without knowing daily purpose, without preparing/fixing appropriate and clear objectives-learners are in vague future, learners are at risks. But if a teacher is well-prepared, determined and directed, everything flows smoothly and deminish confusion.
Learning objectives are like the soul of the lesson plans, lessons exist because we need something (topic) to impart upon learners so those objectives should be fixed and mould wisely.
The whole lesson is being directed where to revolve upon as objectives are SMARTly structured.

Why do teachers need to write SMART objectives?
Teachers need to write SMART learning objectives in order to determine the clear educational outcome for their students. Well-written SMART objectives would help teachers create lesson plans that would be beneficial in assessing students since they focus on goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, result-oriented, and finally time-bound. SMART objectives on the specific level should be very clear, and explicit (ex. something which, for example, the student should achieve in a day), and should only focus on those goals otherwise it'd be difficult to actually properly follow them. They should also be measurable, which means teachers should be able to track their students' progress through these goals, though it can only be done through the help of external factors. SMART objectives should also be attainable; that is, they should focus on goals that are appropriate for the students' level. Give first grader students goals that appropriate for first graders. Don't give them goals expected for a fourth grader since they wouldn't have the mental capacity to achieve them, and vice-versa. Fourth graders would be able to achieve a goal set for first graders, no doubt, but then how would it benefit them since they have already learned about it? Results-oriented goals, meanwhile, like what it says on the title, should focus on the outcome; or rather, what the student would gain at the end of the lesson, instead than the activities provided. Lastly, SMART objectives should be time-bound, which means there should be a time frame given for the students to complete the objectives. If needed, deadlines could also be brought up.
