I took a look at your blog again last night - you are my absolute go to as I am planning to hit the road. Why? By far, your videos are the most informative and helpful. HOWEVER - THE # 1 REASON - You answer questions. And, for that, I am grateful. You have created your own LIFE full of freedom!! Congrats to you!! Here is my next question: (as you can tell - I am a rookie). I am calculating the Bluetti AC200 will provide about 11.5 amp hours. Am I correct?

Strictly speaking, the chart shown indicated that having the DC circuitry on added about 4-4.5W on top of the usual "standby" consumption of about 10W. The higher standby consumption is one of the downsides of having all the monitoring circuitry, etc. But given the large capacity and good recharge speed, not too bad.
With all the concern about "clean" power running sesitive devices, including a fridge, I am curious of your statement around 26:00. Will this unit accept "dirty" power from a backup gas generator and, since the inverter does not bypass, clean it through the internals and make "clean" power for ones devices? And of course depending on the output of the generator and the draw of the devices charge the batteries as well?
The power brick this comes with will "filter" dirty power so you "should" be able to charge it with a modified sine inverter or a low end non-inverter gas generator. The power coming from the AC200 will always be clean.

Best solution for the lack of QuickCharge port is to use a multi-port QuickCharge car adapter. I have a DIY 1.2KWH solar generator and I loaded up the panel with five 12V "cigarette lighter" power points rather than dedicated USB ports (I did include one - WITH QuickCharge...). Gives me more flexibility and upgradeability. But this solution also highlights a shortcoming of the AC200 - not enough 12V "cigarette lighter" power points. Lots of camping gear - from fans to lights - comes with a cigarette lighter adapter plug.
Thank you for such an outstanding channel! You make it all so much easier to understand...especially with demonstrations and answering everyone’s question. Awesome. We just got in on the AC200 + 2 120w panels thanks to you. We could have gone for just the AC200 at $1299, but decided the folding panels are a good buy and we need the portability. Hope the included cables are enough to hook them up to AC200 correctly. We have a couple of 190w panels from our house roof array that have a minor damage to metal outside edge. We are hoping we can figure out if compatible and connect to AC200 when we are at home. Thanks for making this technical stuff FUN!
Camp Runamuck Not that challenging. I already have something that’s about 75% built because one of my original plans was to be able to charge my van’s house system via an EV charger. You can purchase the adapter that talks to the charger cpu online. The biggest issue is needing to safely kill one leg of the 240v that the charger normally outputs.
I am ready to purchase my first solar system. I’ve been looking at the Inergy Flex 1500 power station. Can you tell me how it compares to this Bluetti? Thanks
If I leaved the 3 200w solar panels hooked up you think this unit could handle a steady 1200watt pull without the battery going dead . Or what would be the max watts on average you think it could handle with the 3 200w panels hooked up at all times
Could you use this as a replacement for two lead acid batteries on a travel trailer? Can this power the power lift Jack? What about the fridge? Thanks!
I never laugh,i dont have time to,I was afraid I'd be wasting my time watching these videos but surprisingly hes very precise and accurate. The cat at the end commanded me to subscribe:) ha
about to purchase but watched the promotional video , said powers off if less than 50 watts being used after 4 hours ? , I use my older 1500 in my campervan with a mobile compressor fridge/freezer , it uses only 43 watts and zero when temp is reached , so if I use this new AC200 it means my freezer will defrost overnight , can the power saving option be disabled ? any way you could check if it does power down on low use then it is useless to me. thanks for any help or info
UK delivery costs really kill the deal. I was all set for an AC200, AC50S and a couple solar panels, but the shipping was almost half the cost again. Really gutted.
Sorry, just rewatched the video. Menu select PV or Car. So PV on the roof. Could I have an inverter connected to the van battery then charge the Bluetti with the AC adapter while driving? Tx.
Hello. Thanks for the video. In your opinion could this run residential refrigerators, and approximately how long. Would like to get it for temporary power outages. Thank you,
This question is literally asked daily. It depends on your fridge. Either do a power audit or find the kwh from the sticker. From there use wh/w=hrs. For examples see my ICECO fridge review.
Hi, I have 4 BougeRV 170W panels. I assume the best option would be to run them all in series for this unit? I calculated 90V and 680W. Well within the spec. Or is it better to run 2 parallel and 2 series? And since this has a min Voltage input of 35V, can I assume it won't charge with just one BougeRV panel as the VOC on one panel is 22.5. Does it really require a 35V min VOC to take a charge?
@@HOBOTECH OK thanks. Can we buy in bulk? I'm also looking into buying smaller portable solar generator up to 100-200 watts. Most of the best ones are made in America. Should I buy a step up transformer? Or do you have a better idea?

Name it the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator! Can you speak about the 120W panels Bluetti is selling with the early bird special? I bought the AC200 with 2 panels. Hope they're good! Thanks for your time
Hello, I already have a 400W 18V mono solar panel, Cell chip grade:A class. Will this be alright to charge the Bluetti AC200 without damaging it. It does have the MC4 to connect to the Bluetti. Thank you for the response.
So I got a few questions, I'm new to the solar game and honestly don't know where to start. I'm looking at solar generators to power a mini split on my TearDrop trailer which runs at 450 watts. It's not going to run constantly because I insulated my trailer pretty well with some R15 insulation. How do you calculate something like Wh needed for something that cycles on and off throughout the day and night?
Sorry very new to this. When you demonstrated hooking both RV up to the unit how was it done ? Directly to the AC or through an inverter to the DC. Thank you
What are your thoughts on using one of these with the Ford F-150 power boost system that creates 7200 watts of power in the bed of the truck? Ideas for backup power on a house? Solar? AC cooling in the summer and Infrared heating for winter camping? Thanks for the quality content you put here on TH-cam!! Appreciate it...
Very informative - Question. RV owner. I have a AC/Propane Dometic refrigerator. Can I plug the AC cord into this and have it operate the frig while I am driving instead of propane. I love the simultaneous DC and AC charging. I would also plug in a portable solar panel into this when boondocking.
Anticipating the arrival of my AC200 but curious...how would one use the 25a "rv plug" with a typical travel trailer? Assuming there's some additional wiring needed on the travel trailer side of the connection.
i have an eco worthy 120 wat folding panel with only a 5.5mm barrel connector output cable. How would i connect that to PV charging port on the bluetti?
What is the best backup for a server size desktop with 4 4K monitors & two giant laptops and one ipad? That would turn on if electric source cuts off (or we turn on manually) and run for at least a day and then be able to solar power also and recharge and run for indefinite on solar and batteries? these are our source of work, and even if have to work in the dark and eat canned beans, we need these to be backed up. Oh, yea, and we rent, have to move someday, so all of this needs to be semi portable, we could use a dolly- but can’t hook up permanently to the house, like no rooftop solar array stuff. Newbie here, just learning all this, signed on patreon and shared your site. THANKS!
One other quick question on a different matter sir, About ready to insulate raised fiberglass roof of my 04 Savana and have 1/2” and 1” sheets of RMax polyiso. My head just touches ceiling so will there be a noticeable difference using 1” or just use 1/2” and should foil face up or down?
OK, OK you convinced me, I'll buy it....GRIN. You knew I was waiting breathlessly for this to come out. It was even better than I had hoped (other than the weight). Of course my Bluetti 1500 is not all that light itself. I can use it to power my phones, tablets, what not. Question, how is the speed of charging on the wireless chargers on top of the unit? Of course it doesn't matter really as I already bought it. May be a good question to answer when you get the newer one to test down the road. I had trouble with my credit card for some reason and fell from contributor 98 on the Early Bird (not super early bird) down to 105 by the time I got it straightened out (a matter of minutes). By the time I got it going we had passed over $1M to enable the first stretch goal of the car charger cable and it's only been live for a little over 4 hours. You are right, this sucker is going to sell out in a matter of hours if not 3-4 days.
Nice review. I'm setting up for a van conversion. You said solar up to 700 watts input from solar. Great, roof panels. You said cigarette lighter charging while driving. Can you do both while driving? I didn't see multiple input charging ports. 25 amp DC output. How would you connect the unit to a DC fuse box. Thanks
Perhaps a dumb question. Am intrigued about how a lead acid battery can charge the ac 200. How do you set this up? How many times could such a battery charge the ac200? Seems like it would be a good back up for cloudy or rainy days if the grid was down for whatever reason? Thanks for your reply
Professor Hobotech, For the auto charging cable, it looks like it is using the PV Solar port. From the Indiegogo page it indicates that when configured for auto charging it switched to input specs of (12V-30V / 8.2A), if it uses the solar PV port, do you think the AC200 can support trickle charging from a single solar panel when configured for auto 12V charging so you don't have to set up two panels to meet the 35V min input for PV charging? Just wondering if it bypass the solar charge controller.
It won't work because the input accepts 12v-16v then nothing from 16v-22v before it kicks back in to 22v-28v (roughly). You have to use two solar panels in series.
Hey hey hobo tech Quick 2 questions. 1 With this being the most recent state of the art generator technology what’s next, perhaps one charge time?? 2. You advised awhile back to go with the Jackery 1000 or await for this to be developed and tested. Following your advise always I held off on the Jackery 1000, and waited for new 100W panel. So it’s either spend $1000 and have Jackery now or get the AC200 but need wait 2 months(perhaps find something cheap in the interim) along with your favorite100W Jackery panel @$. Once again advise please?
On the video on their website they say it will automatically power down if less than 50 Watts is drawn within 4 hours. Does this mean it will turn off if it's only running my refrigerator for 4 or 5 hours? Is there an override for this setting?
Mr HoboTech….great videos. I have the AC200P I purchased eight (8) 100W 12V Rich Solar panels and connected them in series. I’m getting over 150 volts should I drop 1 panel or change to series parallel. I tried to find the video you had on wiring in parallel but could not find it. What would you recommend?
I love how all the reviewers refer to the 12volt adaptor as the “cigarette lighter.” When was the last time you saw a cigarette lighter in a car?!?😂
Shows our age.
H K and your point is???
Sorry. When I saw your post, I saw “Shows YOUR age.
We are good.
When was the last time you had seen someone stick gloves in a glove box?
Nice Timing! Glad to hear it has UL listing.
Name the heat gun “Karen”
Your solar panel was 2 inches above regulation height, don't worry I took care of it.
Would you pick this over the Bluetti EB240? Thanks for the detailed reviews!
I would. Battery is smaller but it's better in every other way.
It would be cool if you could charge them from a Tesla charging station
Maybe you could invent the adapter........... just sayin.........its a great idea.
Scott Christensen looks to me like it would be a good ideal
Camp Runamuck Not that challenging. I already have something that’s about 75% built because one of my original plans was to be able to charge my van’s house system via an EV charger. You can purchase the adapter that talks to the charger cpu online. The biggest issue is needing to safely kill one leg of the 240v that the charger normally outputs.
Stephen Otto thanks man for the input . That would sure be a cool option.
The best you said about the people that make the device is that they ask, AND listen!
Call your heat gun after the Asgard Marvel character called.. Destroyer!
I am ready to purchase my first solar system. I’ve been looking at the Inergy Flex 1500 power station. Can you tell me how it compares to this Bluetti? Thanks
Stick with the etti unless you really need to add batteries for some reason
"The Watt Wacker"
That packs a lot of punch! The only one item that would be nice to have would be a 30amp plug to connect to an RV or Trailer.
JUST WHAT SHE NEEDS IS A “GOOD ROGERING”!!!!!!!!!!...........!
If I leaved the 3 200w solar panels hooked up you think this unit could handle a steady 1200watt pull without the battery going dead .
Or what would be the max watts on average you think it could handle with the 3 200w panels hooked up at all times
Let's do basic math. 600 watts in - 1200 watts out = -600 watts
Could you use this as a replacement for two lead acid batteries on a travel trailer? Can this power the power lift Jack? What about the fridge? Thanks!
Yes
Yes. I mentioned that Eco mode can be disabled.
@@HOBOTECH sorry I missed that part , I must pay more attention , I had the same problem at school a long time ago lol , thanks for the reply
UK delivery costs really kill the deal. I was all set for an AC200, AC50S and a couple solar panels, but the shipping was almost half the cost again. Really gutted.
Love your channel. It’s awesome / thank you for all your great solar videos. 😎🎷
Sorry, just rewatched the video. Menu select PV or Car. So PV on the roof. Could I have an inverter connected to the van battery then charge the Bluetti with the AC adapter while driving? Tx.
Yes.
@@HOBOTECH Thank you. Forgot the basics.
Yes. Run them in series.
What if you live in a country that has 220 volts and plug types C/E? How can we use it?
You buy a 220v for your country.
@@HOBOTECH OK thanks. Can we buy in bulk? I'm also looking into buying smaller portable solar generator up to 100-200 watts. Most of the best ones are made in America. Should I buy a step up transformer? Or do you have a better idea?
Just bought mine! Missed the super earlybird watching full video at 07:20 lol. Love HOBOTECH! Ty Sir!
I like the idea of naming their chargers after aircraft carrier types/classes. And yes change the graphics on the top to look like the deck of an aircraft carrier for landing zones for the phones.
I can’t tell you how great your channel is bro
I got to get one of these to keep our tasers hot
It would be a hell of a show to get you and the GREAT “””WILL PROUSE””” on a simultaneous show or better yet together making your own partnered masterpiece
I hope to make a trip to Vegas eventually and will ask him about doing a collab of some kind. He and I do chat offline.
THANKYOU for responding
I appreciate that very much
That’s fantastic you guys all touch base on these amazing pieces of technology I never thought we’d all see outside the military but secrets get out and ideas run wild
These solar generators are already generations ahead as the military has a system that somehow charges by lack of photons at night
I dont know how classified it is if it is at all
But think of how a heat pump works or a thermal core heater that is drilled a grand into the earth and uses the earths temp differentiation to both heat and cool homes
In that sense the process to produce electric current can be achieved by solar sunlit power as it can also be equally or supposedly surpassing it by a reverse process of going dark
I can only see that happening from the sun setting til it’s deduced into all darkness to create a polar reversal and produce current but once in constant state of darkness how the hell does lacking photons or what exists within the dark that produces endless juice where as I was told these generators are basically just buried into the elites bunkers as well as Trumps and our military
And basically you can easily create darkness anywhere anytime
But the trillion dollar literal industry they wont reveal is parallel with say COLD FUSION
These two endless free power no moving parts gifts from GOD due exist with one most certainly for sure being the DARK PHOTON GENERATORS
somehow the polar opposite of a daytime or lit photon albeit a darkening and dark photon that is always theoretically in motion as it wants to ignite
It’s at a constant battle with itself to illuminate as all photons come alive within the suns rays
In this sense it begins to somewhat turn on the proverbial lights all pun intended
It may also be total nonsense but if you and Will are the guys to pull it off you must cut me in on a percentage
Have a great Fourth of July 🇺🇸 brother
Dueling heat gun match. My gun is bigger than your gun.
Are you familiar with Tinywattssolar products?
Can you recommend what is the best option, performance and price. M in the process to choose a solar power system for my van. I have a good budget just trying to figure out what's my best option
Name it the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator! Can you speak about the 120W panels Bluetti is selling with the early bird special? I bought the AC200 with 2 panels. Hope they're good! Thanks for your time
They didn't send me panels yet. That will be a future review. I'd go ahead and get them though as they are guaranteed to work with the AC200.
Thank you
Through the built in inverter. Note the wattage on the display.
Thank you sir !!
Holy Solar generators Batman!!! I would need a 1 ton axle to carry that thing! Great looking power source professor!
They now offer a wheeled trolley with bag as part of the campaign.
Thank you for the awesome review. I preordered one for my 4x4 ambulance RV conversion.
Sure, but absorption fridges are absolute power hogs. Mine pulls somewhere around 200w constantly.
Thanks for your video! Your timing is excellent. I appreciate your honesty.
This Product is Going to Make Proudly Smarter People' Just In Understanding How It Works!😶👍
Anticipating the arrival of my AC200 but curious...how would one use the 25a "rv plug" with a typical travel trailer? Assuming there's some additional wiring needed on the travel trailer side of the connection.
You wire it into a fuse box.
@@HOBOTECH That's what I was thinking. Just needed the expert for validation :). Thanks
i have an eco worthy 120 wat folding panel with only a 5.5mm barrel connector output cable.
The WattsZap gun!!! That's what's up! 😁 As always...great review!
Would you consider doing a direct comparison to a gas or propane powered generator?
I cut the wireless tests out for time not realizing so many wanted to see it. It charges at 5v 1A each pad. I think the 15w rating is total, not each.
Just how long would that be able to power the Air Conditioning unit in your RV.
Depends on the a/c and outside temperature.
I don't have much info on it as they didn't send me the clamps. I'll test that in a future video.
Thx. Will look forward to it
Good job Hobo!!! Thanks man...be careful of wind and fires out there....I'm surprised I don't see spoke in background...tak care man!!😊😊
Professor Hobotech, For the auto charging cable, it looks like it is using the PV Solar port.
Thanks for this. Excellent review.
Does this have the ability to have software updates?
No.
How long will this last if it was used everyday approx ?
On the video on their website they say it will automatically power down if less than 50 Watts is drawn within 4 hours. Does this mean it will turn off if it's only running my refrigerator for 4 or 5 hours? Is there an override for this setting?
I covered this in the video. You can turn off ECO mode to disable this feature.
when will I be able to buy one? How and where? Thanks
Thank you so much!
You can do either. Try both and see which gives better results.
Great review & seemingly solid product from Bluetti. I’ll consider this unit if I need to up my power from the GoalZero 1000 & Jackery 500 that I’m currently running.
Glad this came out before the AC200 came out
Can you run a 1500 watt electric heater with the bluetti AC200...& if so, for how long before recharging?
Yes, 1 hour. I cover how to do the calculations in several videos.
I like this model. So I'll assume it'll run my keurig coffee machine ? it uses 1500 watts peak. Thanks. Enjoyed the video.
Should I get the Bluetti EB 150 or should I wait for the AC 200? I need to power a 12V fridge/freezer (24/7). And charge phone, laptop, camera. @HOBOTECH
They both can do all that. Depends on your needs and if you can wait.
